Chapter 312 Daddy Mommy Owie
Chapter 312: Chapter 312 Daddy Mommy Owie
The next morning.
Julia Land arrived at the company, and as soon as she got out of her car, she heard the sudden wailing of an old lady.
The bodyguards immediately blocked the old lady from getting close to Julia.
"Miss, I beg you, please spare my grandson, he’s still young, please give him a chance to reform!"
The old lady knelt on the ground, crying with a voice hoarse from desperation.
Julia was caught off guard by the old lady’s sudden action.
Which old lady?
It was the perfect time - during work hours.
She looked around, and employees and pedestrians had stopped to watch; those unaware of the details might think Julia had done something terrible.
Julia calmly signaled to the bodyguards to help the old lady up, but she refused to get up.
"Get up first, let’s talk this out," Julia asked with a frown and a cold voice, "Who is your grandson?"
The old lady, choking on her tears, said, "Director Land, my grandson is Finn Hamilton. He knows he was wrong, please, I beg you as an old woman, give him a chance, let him go."
Julia suddenly realized - it was Finn Hamilton’s grandmother.
"Your grandson incited others to arson, committed illegal acts and caused the death of people. I am not a judge; you pleading to me is useless," a cold smile curled at the corner of her mouth, "Take the old lady to the police station."
Upon hearing this, the old lady’s face turned ugly, and climbing up with a struggle, she pointed at Julia and cursed, "I curse your children to have no good end. You caused my Hamilton family to be without descendants, you will not die a good death!"
Julia’s face turned dark when she heard the old lady’s curse.
She walked into the company, without turning back, and said coldly, "Take her to the police station."
The bodyguards quickly put the old lady into the car, while she continued her shrill cursing until it suddenly stopped.
The old lady’s mouth was now sealed with tape.
Julia returned to her office and made an internal call to have Michael Scott come in.
"Assistant Scott, come in for a moment."
The old lady’s sudden trouble didn’t bother Julia, and she didn’t mind making Uncle Moore and his lot even busier.
Michael Scott came in after knocking, "Chairwoman."
Julia opened a file and said coldly, "Inform the old lady about the real reason Finn Hamilton was arrested. Tell her, Finn was working for Uncle Moore."
"Mr. Zhou has always wanted to cause trouble for Uncle Moore, right? Help him with that."
Michael Scott nodded in understanding, "I’ll arrange it right away."
After Michael Scott left the office, Julia leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and tried to calm herself down.
Her children were her bottom line, she did not want to endure even a curse.
The old lady dared to come to Dale Group to create a scene, probably it was Uncle Moore and his group’s doing.
Julia thought of Daniel Moore, maybe she could use him to set them on each other like dogs fighting over a bone.
She called Tyler Hughes to come in.
Tyler Hughes was once again entrusted with a heavy responsibility by his boss.

Meanwhile, at Basket Village.
Several of Jackson Munday’s buddies came to ask him out to the river to go fishing.
They saw Dale Land squatting by the well washing clothes.
A group of children gathered around, and one of the boys pointed to Dale’s wrapped face, asking Jackson Munday curiously, "Big Fish, why is she wrapping her face? She looks like a ghost."
Dale Land continued to wash clothes with her head down and didn’t look up at them.
With a fishing rod in hand, Jackson Munday frowned and replied, "I don’t know, let’s hurry and dig for earthworms."
The buddies ran off laughing and chatting.
Dale Land strained with her little hands to scrub the adults’ clothes and couldn’t help but reach up to scratch the gauze wrapped around her face.
Lately her face had been constantly itchy, and she often couldn’t help scratching it.
When Jack Munday and his wife brought Dale Land home, they concocted a story for the curious neighbors.
They said Dale’s face was scalded, and her family didn’t want her anymore.
Seeing her pitiful state, the couple took her in to do some chores at home, at least they would feed the child and not let her starve.
The neighbors felt Dale Land was somewhat pitiable, but they didn’t say much more about it.
Jack Munday’s wife, Hazel Fields, stretched and walked out of the house. Seeing that Dale Land wasn’t washing clothes, she frowned, "Ugly girl, scrub faster, how long do you plan to wash? The sun is about to set!"
Dale Land didn’t dare to continue scratching her face; she lowered her head and continued to vigorously scrub the clothes.
She had now learned to read the room.
And tried her best not to anger Hazel Fields.
Hazel Fields walked over to the well, glanced at Dale Land’s movements, and said dissatisfiedly, "Ugly girl, scrub hard. At noon, I’ll teach you to cook."
Now, both Jack and his wife referred to Dale Land as "ugly girl."
The little girl was still young; as she grew up, she would naturally forget her own name.
Hazel Fields planned to leave all the household chores to Dale Land from now on.
She glanced at the dirty bandage on Dale Land’s face and grimaced with disgust.
"Ugly girl, don’t move around."
Hazel Fields held down Dale Land’s head, found the end of the bandage, and ripped it off forcefully, then unwrapped it.
The bandage was stuck to her face where the cut was, and the wound hadn’t fully healed when Hazel Fields tore at the bandage with such force.
The bandage ripped skin and flesh, causing blood to flow again.
"Ah! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, mama, Dale hurts."
Dale Land struggled, trying to pull her head away; she couldn’t bear the pain.
Hazel Fields angrily slapped her, "Don’t cry, I’ll hit you if you cry!"
She muttered to herself, realizing the wound hadn’t healed yet.
She reattached the bandage.
Dale Land sat on the ground and sobbed quietly.
That night, Dale Land developed a high fever.
It was unclear whether it was because the wound on her face was infected or because she had been frightened during the day.
In the morning, when Jackson Munday got up looking for food, he habitually kicked Dale Land, who was sleeping on the ground.
After several kicks and no response from her, he immediately ran back into the house to call Jack, "Dad, the ugly girl is dead."
Upon hearing this, Jack and Hazel Fields instantly woke up in alarm.
If Dale Land died, they wouldn’t receive any further payments.
The two quickly got out of bed and rushed to the kitchen.
Jack checked Dale Land’s breathing, "She’s still breathing, forehead’s hot, looks like she has a fever."
Hazel Fields breathed a sigh of relief, slapped her son’s head, "That’s for talking nonsense, I’ll go get the fever medicine."
People in the village were used to buying over-the-counter medicines for colds and fevers.
To them, taking medicine naturally brought the fever down.
Hazel Fields took the medicine, crushed it into powder, mixed it with water and carefully fed it to Dale Land.
Jack frowned, looked at Hazel Fields angrily, "Let her sleep in the storeroom, lay down a mat and a blanket for her."
Hazel Fields nodded, "Okay, I’ll get it ready."
The storeroom was cluttered with various items, and a musty smell lingered in the air.
Hazel Fields cleared a space in the storeroom.
She found an old mat to lay on the ground and grabbed an old blanket.
After she had finished arranging everything, she went to the kitchen to carry Dale Land to the storeroom.
She placed Dale Land on the mat, covered her with the blanket, yawned, then walked out of the storeroom.
What a hassle in the early morning.
Hazel Fields cursed and planned to return to her room to continue sleeping.
Dale Land, feverish and delirious, lay in the bed; her small body slightly convulsed due to the high fever.
"Daddy, mommy, it hurts."
