Chapter 300: Chapter 300 Suddenly Sat Up Straight

Claire Hamilton returned home from the beauty salon, pleasantly bringing up the encounter with Madame Bell to Uncle Moore.

"Madame Bell?" Uncle Moore suddenly sat up straight, frowning tightly.

Seeing his solemn expression, Claire asked puzzledly, "What’s the matter? Did you think of something?"

Uncle Moore pondered for a moment, then suddenly remembered something.

Connor Bell had passed away, and Julia Land was his only daughter; thus, Julia Land might very well inherit the Bell Family’s estate.

"If Julia Land inherits Connor Bell’s estate, even if Dale Group goes bankrupt, she will at least have the Bell Family’s assets," stated Uncle Moore coldly, a trace of resentment flashing in his eyes.

Claire was slightly stunned, then showed a hint of jealousy, "Then she’s really lucky, but... Julia Land had a poor relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Bell, so she might end up with nothing."

She also disliked Julia Land. If it weren’t for Julia Land, possibly her husband would now be running the company.

After work, Julia Land returned home and rubbed her temples.

She had been so busy all day that she didn’t have time for random thoughts.

James Thompson was on the phone while pouring a glass of water for Julia Land.

After he hung up,

Julia Land asked softly, "Did we... get any news today?"

James Thompson rubbed his temples and said in a low voice, "Worried about alerting that man, we can only commit our current manpower to the search, which is very difficult."

Julia Land also understood the great difficulty; they had no idea where that man had taken their daughter.

Julia Land pursed her lips, "Do you think, that man might have left Dunmore City separately from our daughter?"

James Thompson furrowed his brow and thought for a moment, then nodded, "It’s possible. If we could catch that man first, we wouldn’t have to be so cautious and afraid of being detected when looking for our daughter."

Julia Land comforted herself, "We’ll continue to pour funds into hiring people to search for her. I plan to invest all the company’s profits into the search effort. We’ll hire people in every city, every county, and even in every village we reach in the future. We need to set up a dedicated search agency."

She knew all of this would require a great deal of money.

Uncle Moore and his allies wanted to ruin Dale Group to cut off her funding, but Julia Land would never let this happen.

Just the two of them searching would only make the chances even slimmer.

The only method they had was to invest a significant amount of money to hire people to help search.

"I’ll take care of setting up the search agency," said James Thompson before asking another question, "I saw the news today about the families of the victims causing a scene at the company."

"Yes, don’t worry, I’m fine," Julia Land said with a calm expression.

As long as they could pry open George Fields’ mouth, the issue could be resolved.

At this moment, George Fields, whom Julia Land was thinking of, left the police station and immediately went to the hotel suite he was staying in to make a phone call.

He dialed Finn Hamilton’s number frantically while smoking.

"When are you going to wire me the rest of the money?" demanded George Fields.

Finn Hamilton, on the other end of the phone, clearly didn’t expect George Fields to contact him at such a critical time and coldly replied, "Don’t contact me for now. Wait until this blows over, and you’ll get your money."

"I don’t want to wait that long; transfer the money to me now," George Fields urged, his tone slightly desperate, as he needed to leave Capital City as soon as possible.

Finn Hamilton was silent for a moment, weighing the pros and cons, not daring to risk letting George Fields spiral out of control.

"Fine, I’ll wire you the money tomorrow," Finn Hamilton finally conceded.

George Fields huffed, "You’d better be quick about it, or I’ll make sure you won’t have it easy either."

Finn Hamilton’s face darkened when he heard himself being threatened by a thug.

George Fields absolutely could not be left alive!

Meanwhile, George Fields had just hung up the phone when he heard a knock at the door, followed by a service worker’s voice, "Mr. Fields, your order is here."

George Fields walked to the door in his slippers, and the moment he opened it, his face drained of color.

He tried to close the door, but it was forcefully kept open by the other side.

A man in a service worker’s uniform was holding a mini spray bottle, and he sprayed George Fields’ face a few times.

George Fields felt dizzy and quickly lost consciousness.

When he woke up again, he found himself tied to a chair and immobile.

The surrounding environment was unfamiliar and dim, lit only by a dim light shining on his face.

He struggled, but the ropes were tied too tightly to break free.

Several men entered the room and began to beat up George Fields.

One of them cursed, "Daring to threaten our boss Finn, you’re tired of living! Take him to the sea later."

George Fields, hearing the name ’Hamilton,’ immediately thought of Finn Hamilton!

His face contorted in an instant, Finn Hamilton, you...

Just when he thought he was about to be beaten to death, someone rushed into the room and saved him.

*

Tyler Hughes walked into the room, his face bright with a radiant smile, "Mr. Fields, how come you got beaten up?"

George Fields, covering his face, struggled to recognize the person, when suddenly his pupils constricted, "You... you’re with Dale Group?"

Tyler Hughes smiled and nodded, "That’s right, you have a good memory. I came to see you for a bit of business. Who sent these people to beat you?"
