Chapter 286: Chapter 286: Make It Happen
The other man oozed charisma.
He knew exactly how Sophia Hart liked it.
His actions were effortless.
Sophia Hart was oblivious to Andrew Benson’s subtle seduction tricks.
His face still wore a gentle smile, but his eyes were cold, "Sophia Hart, I don’t care who you marry, but to get away from me, you’d rather choose a man who loves playing with women? You really are ruthless."
He sat on the sofa, his presence almost crushing as he stared at Sophia Hart.
Faced with Andrew’s piercing gaze, Sophia felt a twinge of weakness, but it didn’t show on her face.
She said calmly, "Andrew, whatever you think, this is my choice. I have the right to decide who I marry."
Andrew stood up and narrowed his eyes slightly as he approached Sophia.
Sophia took a step back but was immediately wrapped in his arms, preventing her retreat.
His smile was tender, "Lavinia, don’t say things that hurt people. Can you really say you don’t love me?"
Sophia met his gaze head-on, unwavering, "I just hope you understand that persisting will only cause more pain for everyone. I’ve made up my mind to start a new life. You should let go too and give both of us a chance to find true happiness."
Quite the speech.
Andrew pinched Sophia’s chin, examining it closely, then scoffed, "True happiness? Do you think you’ll be happy with Blake Lincoln? He’s just a frivolous playboy. Do you really think he will treat you sincerely?"
His hand slid from her chin down to her back, pausing at the zipper of her wedding dress.
A flicker of pain crossed Andrew’s eyes, but it quickly disappeared. He asked coldly, "Tell me the truth. Why are you suddenly marrying someone else?"
His fingers had already pulled at the zipper of her wedding dress, the threat clear.
He hated the dress on her, a gown meant for another man.
At that thought, his expression grew even darker, "Lavinia, I always thought you just needed time to accept us, but I never imagined you’d force my hand by marrying someone else."
The zipper slid down.
The cool touch of his fingers met her skin.
He turned her around, leaned in, and bit her back.
Sophia inhaled sharply, "It wasn’t me forcing you to let go. Our problems have always been there. Your mother will never approve of us, and I feel guilty toward you and Elise Morgan."
Andrew’s biting halted abruptly at her words. So she knew. His eyelashes fluttered, "So you knew all along."
He didn’t continue to graze her back.
No wonder she was so determined to marry someone else, to cruelly sever any possibility of being together.
His mother would probably never accept her, and given Lavinia’s character, she felt more guilty towards Elise.
He’d always kept the truth from her, fearing she’d feel guilty.
In fact, Sophia had received another message from Elise the night before.
It turned out that after she and Andrew were set up by her parents, Elise had been pregnant.
Thinking of this, Sophia could only smile bitterly. Her parents were truly sinful.
"I’m sorry about what happened in the past," Sophia said, her eyes brimming with tears, because she had wronged them. And what was more ridiculous was that she had been deceived by her parents into believing that Andrew left her for money from the Hart Family.
Now that she knew the truth, how could she possibly have the heart to innocently continue with her boyfriend?
Andrew sighed. The very thing he didn’t want Sophia to know, she found out anyway.
He looked down, guessing, "Did my mother tell you?"
His mother faking a faint to lure him back to Orly was probably to give Sophia time to get married.
Not wanting to put her in conflict with his mother, Sophia shook her head, "It wasn’t Aunt Fang, it was my own parents who told me."
Andrew chuckled, "Don’t lie to me. My mother has been pretending to be sick the whole time. I figured it out. Lavinia, the past is the past. Shall we move forward?"
Just then, there was an urgent knocking at the door.
Andrew frowned, something must have happened. Otherwise, no one would interrupt them at this time.
He zipped up her wedding dress again and held her waist, "Come in."
He turned to look at the bodyguard who walked in.
The bodyguard looked at Sophia.
Andrew said, "Just say it."
Meaning Sophia could listen.
The bodyguard spoke respectfully, "Mr. Benson, Miss Elise Morgan has disappeared. A passerby witnessed her being forcibly put into a car."
Andrew instinctively looked at Sophia.
Sophia poked him, "Why are you looking at me? Let’s talk about our issues later. Let me go. You go find her."
Andrew didn’t say anything more. Regardless of anything, he needed to find the person first, and he let go of Sophia’s waist.
"Arrange a flight back to Orly," Andrew told the bodyguard.
The bodyguard nodded and quickly left the lounge.
Andrew looked down at Sophia and muttered an apology, "Lavinia, I’m sorry."
As Sophia wondered why he was suddenly apologizing, he picked her up.
Sophia’s eyes widened, "Wait, what are you doing?"
Andrew carried her quickly out of the lounge, "Taking you to Orly. I can’t let you stay here anymore."
Sophia was dumbfounded and struggled violently, "I won’t go! Go find her, what do you need me for!"
Ignoring her protests, Andrew held her tightly and threatened, "If you don’t want to fall and get a split head, stop struggling. Otherwise, I’ll let you fall and turn into an obedient fool."
