Chapter 282 Scared Me to Death
Chapter 282: Chapter 282 Scared Me to Death
Mason Moore and his associates entered the hospital, faces carrying a hint of confidence and smugness.
On their way to the hospital, they had heard the news about Julia Land and Madame Bell’s fallout.
Mason chuckled, "I was worried that she would still have the Bell Group as a backup plan."
Daniel nodded, "I didn’t expect Madame Bell to be so... superstitious."
His tone carried a bit of sarcasm.
Even elite families believe in feng shui and fate, but not to the extent of Madame Bell.
Logan shook his head, "Madame Bell isn’t superstitious; she’s selfish."
They were confident about Julia buying the shares, which is why they were a bit in the mood to gossip about her now.
They headed to Julia’s hospital room.
In the room, there was only Julia, Assistant Scott, and Mason and his group.
Julia had specifically asked James to leave earlier to avoid meeting with Mason’s group.
She had also put on makeup to make her complexion look a bit pale.
"Director Land, long time no see," Mason started, his face wearing a hypocritical smile.
Julia smiled slightly, her tone calm, "Yes, it has been a long time."
Mason looked at Julia’s complexion, with a hint of feigned concern, "You are in poor health and yet still manage such a large company; it must be tough."
"Thank you for your concern, but let’s talk business," Julia said straightforwardly.
Logan, sitting on the side, got straight to the point, "Director Land, we plan to sell our shares, after all, the Moore Group no longer belongs to the Moore Family."
His statement was tinged with mockery.
Julia looked at them calmly, and asked, "At what price do you wish to sell?"
Mason scoffed, "Of course, five percent above the current market price; if you want them, we can sell to you."
Julia laughed amusedly, "You don’t have to sell to me."
Mason, "....."
Logan signaled Mason not to get angry; he then said to Julia with a smile, "Julia, are you sure you do not want to buy? You can think about it for two more days; we’ll be leaving first."
Mason and the others left the hospital room promptly.
After they left, Julia touched her chin, something felt off.
What exactly did the Moore Family want to do??
In response to Madame Bell’s commotion in the hospital room, Julia decided out of sight, out of mind, to switch hospitals.
Sophia Hart came to visit Julia in the hospital and, upon learning about this, cursed Madame Bell’s foolish actions.
Dealing with such a biological mother was troublesome, just like her own parents.
"Lavinia, my wedding with Blake is the day after tomorrow; we’re just inviting some relatives over for a simple ceremony; we’ve already picked up our marriage certificate yesterday,"
Sophia, wary of delaying, had picked up the marriage certificate first, even setting the wedding date as soon as possible.
Now, she just hoped Andrew’s mother could keep him occupied a bit longer.
"Lavinia, are you sure about this?" Julia asked worriedly once again.
Sophia nodded and smiled, "Lavinia, I’ve thought it through."
Seeing Sophia’s determined look, Julia sighed lightly, "I will be there on your wedding day."
At that moment, Andrew, whom Sophia had just thought of, had in fact learned about Sophia and Blake’s marriage certificate the day before.
The man smirked as he walked out of the hospital and into his car, pulling out his phone to call Sophia.
He patiently waited for Sophia to pick up.
Seeing the call was from Andrew, Sophia hesitated for a moment, but feeling guilty, she answered, "Hello."
Andrew’s voice carried a bit of despair, but his gaze was cold as he said, "Lavinia, my mother suddenly fainted, and the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong; I’m really worried."
Sophia knew Anneliese was faking it.
She tried to make her own voice sound concerned, "Are you sure the doctors found nothing? Do you want to switch hospitals?"
Andrew’s voice was still tinged with desolation and worry, "We’ve already been to five hospitals; I’ve heard that the First Hospital in Capital City is well-known, I plan to take her back there in a few days."
Sophia almost couldn’t hold her phone steady; she quickly suggested, "I’ve heard medical services are excellent in Inkwell City, how about taking Aunt Anneliese there for a check-up?"
At that moment, on the other end of the phone, Andrew’s gaze instantly turned icy.
He gripped his phone tighter, Lavinia, do you really think getting a marriage certificate can cut me off?
Sophia was very worried about Andrew suddenly coming to Capital City; she persisted in talking about how good the medical services were in Inkwell City.
Listening to Sophia’s words, Andrew’s lips curled into a cold smirk, "Alright, I’ll take my mom to Inkwell City first."
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief, gently patting her almost frightened chest; she knew she had temporarily stabilized Andrew, but she still felt uneasy.
They talked a bit more before hanging up.
Andrew stared at his phone, smirking.
Yesterday, he had guessed that his mother might have faked her fainting to trick him.
When he found out yesterday that Sophia and Blake had gone to get their marriage certificate, his anger almost overwhelmed his reason.
He was about to fly to Capital City, but just as he mentioned going there, his mother got angry and then fainted.
From initially being anxious to now suspicious.
Could his mother be pretending to have fainted? Otherwise, how could so many hospitals find nothing wrong?
Andrew decided to go along with the act.
Meanwhile, after hanging up, Sophia blinked at Julia, "Lavinia, I was so frightened just now; Andrew was actually thinking of taking his mom to a hospital in Capital City; thank goodness I convinced him to go to Inkwell."
