Chapter 274: Chapter 274: Made Up?

Orly was a small country.

Andrew Benson had left his homeland to develop in Orly years ago.

These past few days, whether he called Sophia Hart or sent messages, there was no reply from her, which filled him with unease.

He planned to fly to Capital City the next day.

In the evening, he left the office and went directly to the hospital.

Andrew Benson walked into the hospital room, where Anneliese King and Elise Morgan were both present.

Anneliese King smiled warmly at her son and said softly, "Benjamin, have you eaten yet? It’s perfect timing, Elise just made some soup."

She was still quite frail.

Elise Morgan brought a bowl of hot soup over to Andrew Benson, "Benjamin, have some soup, it was just made."

Andrew Benson took the soup bowl and thanked her.

Anneliese King watched this scene, feeling satisfied,

She had always hoped that her son would be with Elise Morgan.

Especially since she had gotten into this trouble, it was Elise who had been taking care of her tirelessly.

Anneliese King sighed, "Benjamin, I heard from Elise that you haven’t been eating well recently. You need to take care to rest more."

Andrew Benson nodded. He set down the soup bowl after taking a few sips and looked up at Anneliese King, "Mom, I need to go to Capital City tomorrow."

Anneliese King’s face fell instantly, her tone carrying a hint of displeasure, "I’m still in the hospital, and you’re going to Capital City again? Didn’t you just come back?"

Elise Morgan hung her head, a look of disappointment on her face. She silently stood up, excused herself to make a phone call, and left the room for the mother and son to talk.

Seeing Elise Morgan leave, Anneliese King looked at Andrew Benson with even greater displeasure and said sternly, "Benjamin, what are you planning to do in Capital City now?"

Andrew Benson, feeling helpless, held his mother’s hand, his voice soft, "Mom, I’ve told you, I will never give up on Sophia. Elise and I will not be together; I don’t have feelings for her."

"Son, have you forgotten who has been by your side fighting through thick and thin? Moreover, if it hadn’t been for attracting clients, Elise would not have lost the baby."

Andrew Benson’s warm smile momentarily vanished, "Mom, I don’t want Sophia to know about this."

He had always feared letting Lavinia find out.

If she knew, given her character, she would feel guilty, and they could never be together.

Anneliese King was not deterred by her son’s cold demeanor, she exclaimed angrily, "Why shouldn’t she know? It was because of her parents’ cruel actions that you, Elise, and my grandchild suffered!"

"Get out of here! I think you just want to infuriate me; I wish I had died in that fall!"

Andrew Benson hurried to calm the very upset Anneliese King, "Mom, please don’t get angry."

Standing outside the hospital room, Elise Morgan heard Anneliese King’s angry words and worriedly walked into the room.

"Aunt Anneliese, please don’t be angry," Elise Morgan patted Andrew Benson to prompt him to leave first, "It’s all because Benjamin is thoughtless."

Anneliese King realized she couldn’t stop her son from going to see Sophia Hart, but fortunately, she had already made a phone call, hoping that Sophia Hart would fulfill what she had promised her.

Andrew Benson, pushed out of the hospital room, rubbed his temples.

After Elise Morgan had pacified Aunt Anneliese, she left the hospital room.

She looked at Andrew Benson and spoke in a low voice with a bitter smile, "If you want to go to Capital City, then go. Aunt Anneliese has me here. Benjamin, I’m sorry, once Aunt Anneliese is better, I will leave."

Andrew Benson was not unreasonable, "The one who should be sorry is me; I’ve dragged you into this."

He had not anticipated that the Hart couple would be so scheming back then.

Andrew Benson reentered the hospital room.

Elise Morgan took out her cellphone from her pocket, lowered her eyelids, composed a text message, entered the number, and sent it.

[Sophia Hart, do you know why I slept with Benjamin years ago? It’s because your parents had someone forcefully make us drink a drug.]

At that moment, Sophia Hart in Inkwell City saw the message, and her phone instantly dropped from her hands onto the ground.

She bit her palm, stifling an almost breaking scream.

Andrew Benson arrived in Capital City.

He went straight to Sophia Hart’s residence, only to find she wasn’t there.

After asking the butler, the butler also did not know where she had gone.

Andrew Benson furrowed his brows and called James Thompson, "Cousin, where’s Sophia?"

While feeding Julia Land, James Thompson coldly said, "Don’t call me ’cousin’ anymore."

He did not answer where Sophia Hart was.

Andrew Benson got into his car, his voice tinged with anxiety, "Mr. Thompson, where is Sophia?"

"Find Sophia yourself," James Thompson said and then hung up the phone.

Andrew Benson stared at the disconnected call, his brow furrowing deeper.

He pursed his lips, feeling an ominous premonition inside him.

He immediately utilized his connections, using every resource at his disposal to start looking for Sophia Hart’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, after hanging up the phone, James Thompson continued feeding Julia Land.

At that moment, Sophia Hart, also in the hospital room, thanked James Thompson.

Julia signaled James Thompson to step out as she wanted to speak with Sophia alone.

Seeing she was almost done eating, James Thompson carefully wiped the corner of her lips, set down the bowl, stood up, and walked out of the hospital room.

The room was left with just Julia Land and Sophia Hart.

Julia’s gaze was gentle, "Sophia, can you tell me what happened?"

Sophia Hart smiled, "His mother called me, and most importantly, we can’t be together."

Julia frowned, "About the arranged marriage, have you really thought it through? You don’t need to choose this path."

Sophia Hart bowed her head, her fingers gently rubbing her phone case, her voice somewhat hoarse, "Yes, Julia, I’ve decided. I can’t let myself be trapped in this entangled relationship anymore."

She wanted to completely break free.

She knew what her parents had done and didn’t even want to forgive herself.

Julia nodded, her eyes showing understanding and sympathy, "I’ve got it, I just hope you don’t let yourself get hurt again."

Sophia Hart lifted her head, her eyes slightly red but determined, "Thank you, Julia."

Julia smiled as she held Sophia Hart’s hand, "Remember, you still have us. No matter what happens, we will always be by your side."

Sophia Hart nodded gratefully, feeling a touch of warmth in her heart.

Julia’s eyebrows elegantly arched, softly saying, "An arranged marriage is just that, it isn’t a cage for you. You can leave anytime, especially since you have Mr. Thompson and me behind you."

Sophia Hart knew Julia was right, "I know."

"Julia, your break is over, I should leave now, otherwise Brother Thompson will get angry."

Before leaving, Sophia Hart hesitantly asked a question, "Julia, are you and Brother Thompson back together?"

Julia shook her head, smiled and said, "We won’t be together."

This was the tacit understanding between Julia Land and James Thompson.

Both of them, no matter what, would care for each other, but they would not choose to live together.
