Chapter 261: Chapter 261: Really Daring

The night grew darker, and Andrew Benson watched Sophia Hart in silence.

He was nearly choking on his rage.

"What do you mean by ’tired of sleeping’?"

Andrew cursed inwardly, knowing he needed to remain calm or else he’d do something irreversible.

"Miss Sophia Hart, get up. Let’s talk this out properly!"

"I don’t want to talk, I don’t want to listen."

Just then, an unexpected phone call broke the tense atmosphere between Andrew and Sophia.

Andrew glanced at the caller ID, his brow furrowing slightly. He answered the phone.

"Benjamin, Aunt Fang has fallen down the stairs; she’s being resuscitated at the hospital," Elise Morgan’s anxious voice came through the phone. "You’d better come back."

The room was so quiet that even Sophia could vaguely hear the woman’s voice on the other end of the line.

Andrew stood up quickly. "Which hospital?"

His tone was urgent.

Elise on the phone named the hospital.

"I’m coming back right now." Andrew hung up the phone and immediately started putting on his clothes.

As he dressed, he turned to look at Sophia on the bed. "Lavinia, my mother has fallen down the stairs; I need to go back."

Seeing his haste, Sophia said nothing more to delay him and nodded, "Go ahead, quickly."

Andrew gave her a deep look, dressed quickly, grabbed his phone, and rushed out of the room.

Sophia watched his hurried departure and bit her lip.

She hoped his mother would be safe.

Andrew had caught a flight out of Capital City overnight.

The next morning, sunlight sifted through the gaps in the curtains and sprinkled into the room.

Sophia got up and checked her phone. There were no messages; she didn’t know how his mother was doing.

Sophia had planned to visit Julia Land’s new home but received a call from her. Julia had to go to the Moore Group, so they rescheduled their meeting.

After Julia finished her call with Sophia, she set her phone down on the table and stood in front of the mirror, applying light makeup.

In the early morning, Tyler Hughes stood waiting at the door. Julia stepped out, gave him a glance, and they quickly got into the car.

"Boss, have your breakfast first," Tyler handed a thermos to Julia, smiling, "I made mung bean porridge this morning."

Julia accepted it and started eating.

She suddenly found having a personal assistant quite convenient.

The road traffic was light, with the scenery whizzing by outside the car window.

While eating the mung bean porridge, she pondered the shareholders she was going to meet today.

Julia had given as good as she got, using the media to heavily report the arrest of Uncle Moore.

In a short time, the Moore Group had two CEOs who didn’t last long, which could easily lead people to think there were internal problems.

Sure enough, the stock price plummeted again that morning.

When the car arrived at the Moore Group, Julia entered the building, and Assistant Scott was already waiting for her at the door.

Assistant Scott walked up to Julia and said respectfully, "Most of the shareholders have already arrived."

Julia nodded, gathering her thoughts, and they proceeded to the meeting room.

The shareholders were all sitting in their respective places, each wearing a different expression.

The recent events at the Moore Group had diminished the money in their pockets.

Julia walked into the meeting room and took her seat, her gaze sweeping the room. She noticed Logan Moore looking at her, and she responded with a faint smile.

Mason Moore also gave Julia Land a glance and darkened his face.

The meeting began, and Logan Moore took the lead in speaking, "We need to elect a new chairman now to stabilize this turbulence as soon as possible."

Julia Land remained silent, she was listening.

A shareholder said coldly, "One incident after another has already affected the company’s image and reputation. What the company needs is a leader with determination, and one who can take Moore Group even further."

Mason and the others owned fewer shares, so to gain the chairman position, they needed the support of other shareholders.

Julia Land waited for their consultation to be almost over, then stood up and walked to the chairman’s seat to stand.

Daniel Moore frowned coldly, "Julia Land, what are you up to now? We’ve already expressed doubt about your managerial abilities, and this time we won’t choose you as chairman. Give up."

In their eyes, although Julia Land held twenty percent of the shares, without the support of other shareholders, she would not possibly be elected as chairman.

Amidst the shareholders’ questioning voices, Julia Land maintained a serene smile and calmly responded, "Why wouldn’t everyone choose me as chairman? The strategies for dealing with Silicon Express’s shipwreck and smuggling were all ones I had adopted while still chairman."

As soon as she said this, the meeting room fell into an awkward silence.

Mason Moore sneered, "Well, I certainly won’t choose you."

Julia Land nodded in acknowledgement, pulled out a chair without hesitation, and directly sat in the chairman’s seat.

The shareholders watched her actions with discontent and disdain in their hearts.

Mason Moore let out a sneer, "Just sit for a while and enjoy it," he turned to the other shareholders, "Let’s vote now to elect a new chairman."

Julia Land sighed, and with a smile of resignation, said, "Please listen to me before rushing, shareholders with more than fifty percent of the shares hold absolute control. I’m truly sorry, but the chairman of Moore Group will still be me."

Mason Moore frowned, staring angrily at Julia Land, "What do you mean by that?"

Julia Land took out a document calmly and placed it on the table, "This is a share transfer agreement. After several rounds of negotiation, I have bought sufficient shares from other shareholders, and now I own more than fifty percent of the shares in Moore Group."

She originally had twenty percent, and Mr. Thompson had also given her Simon Moore’s fifteen percent, in addition to Mr. Thompson transferring his own twenty percent of Moore Group shares to her.

These shares totaled fifty-five percent, giving her the absolute final decision-making power in Moore Group.

Julia Land cast her eyes down, thinking of James Thompson.

As soon as Julia Land finished speaking, the meeting room erupted into a commotion, and the faces of the shareholders were filled with surprise.

Daniel Moore read the document, stood up with a livid face, "This is impossible! You couldn’t have possibly bought so many shares so quickly!"

Julia Land looked at him calmly, her tone firm, "The proof is stronger than argument. The agreement is signed, you can verify it."

The faces of Mason and the others were very ugly.

What on earth was Simon Moore up to!

And how could they have not realized that James Thompson actually owned twenty percent of Moore Group’s shares!

Why did it come full circle to end up with Julia Land owning more than half of Moore Group’s shares?

Julia Land offered a faint smile, "All my transactions are legal and compliant. Instead of arguing here, why not take a look at the new plan I’ve drawn up for the company? This plan will not only stabilize the current situation but also achieve greater development in the future."

Mason Moore looked towards the other shareholders, seeking their support, "You all just easily believe her words?"

A shareholder said gravely, "Mason, Director Land already owns more than half of the shares."

Julia Land stood and looked at everyone with a smile, "Thank you all for your trust; I will prove with concrete actions that I will lead Moore Group to a new splendor."

The shareholders were forced to reassess Julia Land.

They began to realize that this seemingly harmless woman actually possessed wisdom.

Who would have thought, in such a short time, she would have neutralized the most threatening Simon Moore and Uncle Moore.

Seeing that she had intimidated them, Julia Land continued indifferently, "There’s one more thing, Moore Group will soon be rebranded as Dale Group."

What?

Change the company’s name?

Mason and the others immediately voiced their opposition.

"We won’t agree to a name change!" Mason and the others burst out laughing in disbelief; this Julia Land really dared to go through with it.

But she really dared.
