Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 260: Tired of It?
Chapter 260: Chapter 260: Tired of It?
Uncle Moore was taken away by the police.
The party ended.
Logan Moore turned his head to look at Julia Land, "Was it you?"
Julia Land smiled faintly, "What are you talking about?"
As he watched Julia Land’s retreating figure, Logan Moore frowned, suspecting that today’s events were definitely related to her.
The car drove out of Uncle Moore’s mansion.
The police came for Uncle Moore, which had nothing to do with anyone else, so they naturally could leave on their own.
"Assistant Hughes, have you been trained?" Julia Land asked Tyler Hughes casually while sitting in the car.
"Yes, I’ve trained in Taekwondo. Don’t let my looks deceive you, boss—I can really fight!"
Tyler Hughes proudly showed off his muscular arms, patting them, "Solid muscle, my future girlfriend is definitely going to feel very secure."
Julia Land hummed indifferently, her gaze fixed outside the window as the streets flew by.
Seeing this, Tyler Hughes was disappointed for a second but quickly cheered up.
His boss really had personality—something he liked.
The car smoothly entered the driveway, and Julia Land got out of the car and went straight into the house.
Once home, Julia Land took a shower, dried her hair, and then lay down on her bed.
It was so quiet at home—should she consider getting a small dog?
Or maybe not; she wasn’t much of a pet keeper.
She rolled out of bed, walked out into the yard, and went to check on her daughter’s ducklings.
The ducklings were sleeping carefree by the pond, their little bodies looking especially peaceful in the night.
She sighed softly and turned back into the house.
Tomorrow was another busy day; she needed a good rest.

In Inkwell City, sunlight streamed through the window into the room.
Jasper Winters reported the arrest of Uncle Moore to James Thompson.
James Thompson ate his vegetarian meal slowly, nodding his head—he knew about Julia Land’s plans.
The dishes on his table were all vegetarian, without any meat.
The butler walked in lightly, "Mr. Thompson, Mr. Max’s secretary has brought some documents over and is waiting outside."
Seeing James Thompson’s nod, Jasper Winters turned to the butler, "Let them in, please."
James Thompson put down his chopsticks, wiped his lips, and picked up his teacup for a gentle sip.
The view of the courtyard outside the window was pleasant, with lush trees and blooming flowers, and the air carried a scent of freshness.
He wondered if Julia Land would ever call him.
As the servants came in to clear the dishes, James Thompson set down his teacup, stood up, and walked over to sit on the sofa.
Elizabeth Shaw walked into the room with the butler, unswervingly composed.
She wore a simple suit with a slender figure and attractive features.
Surprised to see James Thompson, she didn’t expect to be delivering documents to him.
Elizabeth Shaw said respectfully, "Mr. Thompson, these are the documents the chairman asked me to bring, please take a look."
James Thompson nodded, took the documents, and started reading them.
He frowned slightly—it was the plan for purchasing White Sand Bay, and he was not satisfied with this plan.
Elizabeth Shaw stood by, inexplicably nervous, yet maintaining a professional smile on her face.
James Thompson closed the file and looked up at Elizabeth Shaw, "You may leave now."
Elizabeth Shaw politely exited, feeling a surge of relief—this man had an overwhelming presence.
Jasper Winters followed behind, and as they left the living room one after the other, he called out, "Wait."
Elizabeth Shaw stopped, turning around with a puzzled look toward Jasper Winters, "Do you... need something?"
Jasper smiled as he eyed the company badge hanging around her neck, Chinese name: ’萧梨’, English name: Lili.
He said with a smile, "Secretary Shaw, let me walk you out."
Elizabeth Shaw nodded with a smile, "Thank you."
Jasper Winters escorted her to the car and immediately made a phone call, "Check someone—Pearwill Group, secretary close to Max, Chinese name ’萧梨’."
It was too much of a coincidence; ’萧梨’ sounded like ’Xiaoli (little pear)’.
Furthermore, he felt that Miss Shaw’s demeanor bore a vague resemblance to Miss Land.
For safety’s sake, he decided to have someone investigate.

Just after Julia moved out, Sophia Hart noticed Andrew Benson becoming more unrestrained.
"I don’t want it anymore," she frowned.
The man leaned in, his voice hoarse, "Lavinia, does it feel good?"
Sophia Hart, with red eyes, blinked but did not answer such a stupid question.
Andrew Benson touched her cheek and asked gently, "If you don’t answer, shall I go again, is that okay?"
She pushed him with both hands, but he restrained her wrists.
After what seemed like an eternity, he held her, finally allowing her to catch her breath and rest.
"Lavinia, will you come with me?" Andrew Benson persistently pleaded, "I can’t always stay in this country. Leave with me, will you?"
Sophia Hart lifted her eyelids, her tone indifferent and voice soft, "I will stay here."
Andrew Benson took a deep breath, his tone containing a hint of helplessness and exhaustion, "Do you believe I could just pack you up and take you away?"
Sophia Hart let out a cold laugh, tinged with sarcasm, "My legs are my own; I will go wherever I want."
Suddenly, Andrew Benson felt helpless.
If he were to force her, he guessed the stubborn girl wouldn’t comply.
He massaged his temples, feeling drained.
Telling her the truth would make forgiveness even less likely, and although he could deceive her, lies would eventually be exposed.
Sophia Hart watched him, unmoved.
The two of them were at a stalemate.
"Do you really not want to come abroad with me?" he asked again.
Annoyed, Sophia Hart snatched a pillow, turned over, and revealed her fair back, covering her head with the pillow, "No, you’ve been with me this long; you must be tired of it by now. Why bother?"
