Chapter 256 Return to Dunmore City
Chapter 256: Chapter 256 Return to Dunmore City
Employees of Pearwill Group received news that the BOSS was coming to the company, and everyone was shocked.
Some of them had been with the company for seven years and had never seen this mysterious boss.
The senior management all went to the conference room.
Even the employees who occasionally slacked off were exceptionally serious and cautious today.
It was Elizabeth Shaw’s first day reporting to Pearwill Group.
The enthusiastic HR lady took her around to visit various departments, explaining, "Our company’s dining area is on the second floor."
Elizabeth nodded and politely said, "Thank you."
The elevator doors opened, and several imposing men walked in.
The HR lady and Elizabeth instinctively stepped back to make space for these men.
Elizabeth inadvertently looked up and saw the man who walked in the middle, and she froze.
He was tall and slender, wearing an extremely dark shirt, and she recognized him as the man she had seen at the airport.
She hadn’t expected to run into him here again.
Elizabeth involuntarily lowered her head and stopped looking.
When the elevator reached the eighth floor and the men exited, the HR lady lowered her voice, "The one who was wearing the blue suit, with slightly curly hair, is our company’s chairman, Max."
Elizabeth nodded; she didn’t curiously inquire about the others.
The elevator doors closed again and continued ascending.
The HR lady was outgoing, and she laughed, "Your name contains ’Shaw’, which is quite fateful with our company, as the company’s name was different five years ago."
Elizabeth nodded earnestly, "I have researched the company’s background and know about the rename."
The HR lady smiled; this newcomer seemed promising.

After the meeting.
In the chairman’s office.
Max looked up at the man opposite and asked, "Why did you suddenly move to Inkwell City? Shall I host a welcome dinner for you tonight?"
James Thompson lightly shook his head, "No need for a welcome dinner." He placed a map on the table, pushing it towards Max, and pointing at a marked location, "I came here today for another important matter, to send a team to Capital City, aiming to buy the area near White Sand Bay."
Max was somewhat puzzled, frowning as he looked at the map, "Our company’s business has nothing to do with the ocean. Moreover, purchasing ocean areas is not easy."
James looked up at Max, his eyes filled with determination and composure, "I have my reasons."
Max looked closely at the map and then at James’s expression, asking, "Could you share your plan? Or tell me why you are so adamant about this ocean area?"
James smiled faintly, "It’s a gift for my daughter."
Max paused, clearly surprised by the answer, "You have a daughter?"
"Hmm." James didn’t want to discuss the topic further.
Max nodded, "I will arrange for an elite team to head to Capital City specifically to handle the purchasing matters of the White Sand Bay area."
James extended his hand, and they shook hands. He stood up, "No need to see me out."
Max stood up and watched as James left.

Capital City.
The next morning, Julia Land, Sophia Hart, and Andrew Benson headed to the airport together.
The airport terminal was bustling with people.
The sounds of announcements and conversations mingled, filled with haste and noise.
They passed through security and boarded the plane to Dunmore City.
The plane slowly taxied and then took off, with the scenery outside the window growing smaller.
Julia sat by the window, her gaze lingering distantly outside.
She reached into her shirt pocket, where she kept a photo of her daughter, and murmured softly, "Dale, mommy is bringing you back to see Uncle."
Sophia had been refusing to engage in any unnecessary conversation with Andrew Benson since morning.
The atmosphere between them was somewhat stiff.
Andrew tried to speak several times but was met with cold stares from Sophia, compelling him to remain silent.
The plane landed at Dunmore City Airport, and the trio went to Wendell Hotel to check in and eat before heading directly to the cemetery.
Sunshine filtered through gaps between the tree leaves, casting mottled shadows on the ground.
The cemetery was quiet and solemn, with only the sound of the wind rustling through leaves and bird calls.
Julia crouched in front of a tombstone, her fingers gently wiping the dust off the photo.
The man in the photo wore a gentle smile, a smile that once was the warmest presence in her life.
Julia’s voice was tender, "Little Violet, I’m back. Long time no see."
Sophia and Andrew stood by, watching this scene, Sophia’s mood heavy.
This man, during the car accident involving Julia, had instinctively protected her.
Sophia stepped forward, placing a bunch of fresh flowers in front of the tombstone, saying softly, "Violet, your cooking was truly delicious; I haven’t tasted anything that good since then."
After saying this, she took Andrew a bit farther away, giving Julia some private space.
She knew Julia probably had a lot to tell Violet.
Julia took out a photo from her pocket; it showed a beautifully smiling little girl, she said, "This is your niece, Dale Land. She’s very well-behaved and sensible. Originally, I planned to bring her to see you during the Mid-Autumn Festival."
Tears finally began to fall uncontrollably.
Julia took a deep breath, wiped away the tears, and leaned her face against the tombstone, "Little Violet, you must have met Dale, isn’t she lovely?"
After some time.
She put the photo back in her pocket and stood up, "I’ll come to see you again next time."

The trio then left the cemetery for the Sincere Heart Community building.
Julia hadn’t sold this place; however, it had been unoccupied for so long that it was dusty and uninhabitable.
This time, she planned to take Violet’s belongings.
After the three of them had packed and arranged for people to move these items, it was already four in the afternoon.
They returned to the hotel for a quick wash before heading to the hotel restaurant for a meal.
The restaurant was softly lit, creating an elegant ambiance.
They found a table by the window and ordered a few dishes.
"Julia Land? Are you Julia Land?" Emily Yeat exclaimed in surprise at the alluring and elegant woman, "Why are you back in Dunmore City?"
Julia looked up, sizing up the woman as she pulled from her memory who this person might be, distantly remembering she was married to Noah Quarter, "Miss Yeat?"
Her tone carried a hint of a question, since her memory of Emily was somewhat vague.
