Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Let’s Get Divorced

Suddenly, a loud explosion sounded, and the castle’s door was blasted open.

Madame Liu’s car quickly charged out of the gate, speeding away.

The bodyguards quickly drove off in chase, trying to intercept Madame Liu’s escape.

James Thompson received a call from the bodyguards immediately, his complexion turned grim.

Eleanor Thompson, who had been clinging to his leg, had already been forcefully taken away by Andrew Benson.

"Dale has been taken away," James Thompson said in a lowered voice, pulling on Julia Land’s hand as they quickly exited the hall.

Upon hearing this, Julia Land’s glass of wine dropped from her hand, shattering on the floor.

Her face instantly turned pale, her eyes filled with panic.

The two of them ran out of the hall.

Madame Bell, seeing James Thompson pulling Julia Land as they ran off, called out in surprise, "Julia, where are you going?"

Connor Bell frowned, suspecting something had happened.

The guests looked at one another, confused about what had occurred.

Andrew Benson, having heard what James Thompson had said, came forward to maintain order, "Sorry, something has come up, and today’s wedding must end here."

Maya Chant walked over to take Eleanor away, "I’m really sorry, children don’t understand."

Andrew Benson gave her a look; it wasn’t his decision to make, they would have to wait for James Thompson to come back to deal with the situation.

Sophia Hart approached Andrew Benson.

Andrew Benson held her hand, trying to comfort her.

In the car.

While driving, James Thompson was on the phone with the bodyguard, "Send me your location."

The head bodyguard immediately sent the real-time location of the vehicle to James Thompson.

Since getting into the car, Julia Land hadn’t spoken a word.

Her eyes were filled with anxiety.

She would trade years of her life just to not lose her daughter again.

"James Thompson, we can definitely bring Dale back safely, right?" Julia Land finally choked up, her voice carrying a plea.

"Yeah," James Thompson replied as his long fingers gripped the steering wheel tightly, his gaze focused on the road ahead, with the car speeding to its limit.

James Thompson’s car was racing along the highway.

His brain was working rapidly, thinking about where the person would go if they were running away.

Julia Land watched the location closely, trying to figure out the direction the person was driving.

She suddenly exclaimed, "White Sand Bay!"

James Thompson responded with a sound of acknowledgment, quickly changed direction, and took a shortcut toward White Sand Bay.

He then called Jasper Winters, "Send more people and a boat to White Sand Bay."

White Sand Bay was a secluded beach, rarely visited, with very large waves, making it an extremely dangerous place.

The bodyguard’s report came through the phone, "We’ve checked the guest list for the banquet, and the person who took away Miss Dale is someone invited by the Bell Family, Madame Liu."

Upon hearing this, Julia Land’s mind felt like it was about to explode with nothing but rage.

James Thompson and Julia Land gradually closed in on White Sand Bay.

They could see they were very close to the location sent by the bodyguards.

"There’s her car!"

"No!"

Julia Land couldn’t scream out the word "no" because her throat was trembling in terror.

She would never forget this scene in her entire life.

The car ahead charged into the raging sea.

A small figure of a little girl was thrown out of the car and plunged into the sea.

The roaring waves seemed to be ready to swallow everything.

James Thompson slammed on the brakes, stopping the car abruptly at the beachside, quickly jumped out, and ran toward the waves.

He leaped into the sea without hesitation, desperately swimming toward his daughter.

Julia Land followed close behind, her traditional dress making it extremely difficult to run.

With determination, she unbuttoned the dress, quickly took it off, and without a second thought, jumped into the sea.

The freezing seawater instantly enveloped her body.

Huge waves battered Julia Land, almost washing her away.

Just as she felt she was about to be devoured by the waves, the bodyguard who had followed rushed over and swiftly pulled her back.

"Ma’am, you can’t go any further!" the bodyguard yelled, exerting all his strength to pull Julia back to the shore.

**

The sun set.

Time seemed to have stopped, as Julia, wrapped tightly in a blanket, sat on the coast.

Her eyes were empty and soulless, her eye rims swollen and tear-stained undried.

The sea breeze tousled her hair.

She stared out at the sea, at the boats that continued to set out on the search, lost in thought.

Her daughter had been so adorable.

After arranging everything, James Thompson approached Julia with a thermos and a bottle of water in hand.

His deep eyes held an imperceptible worry.

James walked up to Julia, unscrewed the bottle cap, and said softly, "Julia, have some water, eat something."

Julia listened to the sound of the waves.

After a while, she slowly turned her head to look at James, tilted her head, and her face revealed a smile uglier than crying.

She said calmly, "James, Dale is gone. How can we continue to live happily together?"

Her voice was hoarse from despair.

A pang of pain gripped James’s heart, he understood the agony and despair that Julia was experiencing at that moment, as well as the meaning behind her words.

He reached out and held her hand tightly.

"James, we were both wrong. We shouldn’t have gotten married."

Julia’s voice was filled with deep despair and self-reproach, and she was on the verge of collapse.

Her face was pale and her hands trembled incessantly, showing her extreme vulnerability.

James gently wiped away the tears from Julia’s face; any words of comfort now seemed empty.

He knew her breakdown and despair, and his heart was also filled with bitterness.

James embraced the crumbling Julia in his arms, holding her tight, trying to soothe her emotions.

"When Dale was born, Christopher Moore took her away... back then... back then I knew she was alive, and I still had faith."

Julia clutched at her chest, feeling a sharp pain that was suffocating and unbearable.

Finally, she said, "Let’s... let’s get a divorce."

She couldn’t do it, couldn’t continue living with James after losing their daughter.

The sound of the waves could not drown out the words Julia spoke.

She said, "Let’s get a divorce."

James still heard her words clearly.

His gaze deep, he spoke hoarsely, "Julia, we’ve been through so much together, we can’t give up now."

Julia shook her head, "Continuing together won’t make us happy."

Every moment of happiness would remind her of the tiny figure of her daughter being thrown into the sea.

That pain followed her like a shadow, impossible to shake off.

"Mr. Thompson, let’s get a divorce."

Julia’s voice was filled with endless sorrow and self-mockery.

Perhaps she was never meant to have happiness.

James swallowed hard against the lump in his throat, gently stroking Julia’s hair that was whipped by the sea breeze, his cracked lips bleeding.

"Fine."

"I’ll do as you say."

Christopher had succeeded, using Dale’s life to ensure that James would never find happiness in his lifetime.

James, in that moment, questioned himself for an instant—had he made a mistake when he chose to undergo the surgery in place of Anna?

**

After spending a week at White Sand Bay.

The Civil Affairs Bureau had just opened its doors.

Julia Land and James Thompson slowly walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau hand in hand, both looking worn out, as they filed for divorce.
