Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 245 Advanced PUA
Chapter 245: Chapter 245 Advanced PUA
"I must be the first one to complete the task and get the inheritance!" Mrs. Liu whispered, her eyes brimming with ambition.
Mrs. Liu’s real name was Charlotte Woods.
She wasn’t afraid of James Thompson and the others investigating.
Her husband’s family did indeed have the surname Liu; it’s just that the man was dead.
And her own family was indeed the Woods family from Malaysia, although she was just an inconsequential illegitimate daughter.
Christopher Moore valued her excellent PUA skills and took her on as a subordinate.
Christopher Moore had, before his death, left a will to a few of his subordinates, stating that whoever could take Dale Land away and raise him after his death would get the majority of his inheritance and an island.
Whoever could raise Dale Land until he turned 18 would get the remaining half of the inheritance.
Mrs. Liu had one characteristic, she valued money as dear as life.
Using her excellent PUA skills, she had already manipulated many people.
She was the first to come straight to Capital City and look for Chloe Sullivan, it was just unfortunate that Chloe was too useless.
Had it not been for the fact that James Thompson had arranged too many bodyguards around Dale Land, she wouldn’t have had to go through such a hassle and beat around the bush.
Mrs. Liu looked at a photo of Dale Land, a glint of satisfaction passing through her eyes.
Just as long as the timing was right, she would achieve her goal.
Now, just thinking about how Madame Bell might take Dale Land out for fun in the future, and how she could then take him away without any effort, she nearly died laughing.
Today, Julia Land didn’t go to work but instead went to the Bell family for dinner, while Assistant Scott at the company received numerous phone calls.
When the shareholders learned that Julia Land was on leave during such a critical period, their disappointment was beyond words.
At that moment, in a luxurious private room at a restaurant, several shareholders shook their heads and sighed, discussing the matter with solemn expressions.
"Does she even realize that the company’s stock hit the limit down as soon as the market opened today?" one shareholder said in anger.
"I think she’s not suitable for the position of chairman," another shareholder chimed in, his voice also filled with dissatisfaction, "I suggest we replace her."
Uncle Moore listened quietly to the complaints and accusations of the shareholders, with a helpless look on his face, he shook his head and said, "I never agreed with the appointment of such a young girl, who has never managed a company, as chairman. Had I not believed in Matthew Moore, I would never have agreed at that time."
One of the shareholders immediately responded, "Yes, now that the company is in crisis and she is absent, how can we feel at ease?"
Another shareholder continued, "We need a leader with experience and decisiveness to guide our company."
Uncle Moore was pleased to see that everyone was in agreement, he nodded and said, "Tomorrow we’ll go to the company and vote at the shareholders’ meeting."
The shareholders nodded in agreement.
Uncle Moore secretly scoffed at Julia Land in his heart.
It seemed that Julia Land wasn’t so great after all, managing to ruin herself over such a trivial matter.
He hadn’t even made much of an effort, and she was already on her way out.
Meanwhile, Julia Land, who had returned home after dining at the Bell family’s, also received a message from Assistant Scott.
[Chairman, several shareholders are strongly dissatisfied with your leave and are preparing to convene a shareholders’ meeting tomorrow to vote, which may concern your position.]
After reading the message, Julia Land calmly passed it to James Thompson.
James Thompson read the message and smiled faintly, "Little Peach, it seems the shareholders have quite a lot of complaints about you."
Julia Land pretended to be aggrieved and said, "I’ll do as they wish."
James Thompson raised an eyebrow, "And what do you plan to do?"
Julia Land’s smile was brilliant, "You’ll see tomorrow."
James Thompson reached out and held her hand lazily, "Fine, whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you."
Taking advantage of Dale Land’s inattention, Julia Land leaned in and kissed James Thompson.
*
The next morning.
Today marked the fourth day since the sinking of a Silicon Express ship.
Yet there had been no official announcement from the Moore Group regarding the smuggled goods salvaged from the wreck.
Julia Land had gone to the company early in the morning, preparing for the impending shareholder meeting.
"Assistant Scott, have you found the information on Uncle Moore and the others?" Julia Land asked.
Assistant Scott nodded and handed her a thick file, "Couldn’t find anything on Simon Moore, but we’ve got the details on the remaining six individuals. Here’s their information."
Julia Land took the file and quickly skimmed through it, speaking indifferently, "There’s no need to continue looking into Simon Moore."
Simon Moore had threatened her on that day aboard the ship to hand over her shares, and she had no idea how Mr. Thompson had dealt with it.
When she left the house that morning, James Thompson had given her a share transfer contract.
Thinking of that contract, the corners of Julia’s mouth lifted in a smile.
Mr. Thompson truly was a godsend.
After reviewing the information Assistant Scott had found, she marked the useful data, planning to deal with it after the shareholder meeting.
When the time for the meeting arrived, Julia Land went to the conference room.
The shareholders had already gathered.
Dressed in a sharp black business suit, she took her place at the head of the table, calmly surveying the shareholders.
Uncle Moore was the first to challenge her, "Director Land, the reason we’ve convened this extraordinary shareholder meeting is because we question your management abilities during this critical period."
"The company’s stocks have hit the lower limit for several days in a row, and you chose to take leave during such a time, which concerns us greatly."
Julia Land looked at them serenely, smiling as she explained, "Dear shareholders, I understand your concerns. I am not ignoring the company’s crisis. In fact, I have been actively addressing this crisis and have a comprehensive solution ready."
One of the shareholders questioned, "Then may I ask, what are your countermeasures? We need to see concrete action, not empty promises!"
Uncle Moore sneered disdainfully, "At this point, you still claim to have a complete solution... stop deceiving us. Let’s begin voting for a new chairman now."
The other shareholders nodded in agreement, echoing Uncle Moore’s suggestion, clearly having lost trust in Julia Land.
The vote commenced, and nearly all the shareholders had voted to remove Julia Land from her position as chairman.
Julia Land looked at the voting results and smiled.
She stood up, looking around at everyone in the meeting room.
"Dear shareholders, I understand your choice, but please allow me a few minutes to elaborate on my crisis management plan."
Uncle Moore huffed with a scoff, "What more do you have to say? The truth is already clear."
Unwavering, Julia Land continued, "I have prepared a detailed crisis PR plan. We will hold a press conference to explain the real situation of this incident to the public and shareholders, and showcase our response measures. Simultaneously, I have arranged for an internal investigation to thoroughly review the sequence of events and ensure that the problem is completely resolved."
She produced a document and handed it to the shareholders present, "This document outlines our detailed action plan, including media cooperation, customer relationship maintenance, and market confidence restoration. Please read it carefully."
Assistant Scott distributed copies of the document to the shareholders.
The shareholders took the documents and began to read.
Julia Land continued, "I know you have lost trust in me, but please believe that I will do my utmost to lead the company out of this difficult situation. We have already taken multiple measures. The drop in our stock price is temporary, and with our combined efforts, we can certainly restore market confidence."
The conference room fell silent.
The shareholders began carefully reviewing the documents Julia Land had provided.
The detailed plans and meticulous arrangements outlined in the documents gradually softened their stance.
Uncle Moore and his cohorts had planned to unseat Julia Land from the chairman’s position that very day.
However, now Julia Land had suddenly produced a pile of documents, causing Uncle Moore and the others’ faces to sour instantly.
But no matter what, today they couldn’t allow Julia Land to remain at Moore Group!
Uncle Moore pushed away the document in front of him, "We have already successfully voted. Julia Land is no longer the chairman of the Moore Group."
He said with a smile, "Moreover, whoever becomes chairman should know how to handle this incident. I still think Director Land is too slow to respond."
"You are not suitable to continue leading Moore Group!"
