Chapter 240: Light Movements
Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Light Movements
Big companies sometimes are more inclined to believe in luck, an unscientific matter.
Julia Land rapidly pondered her strategy.
The questions from Uncle Moore were issues Julia Land had to face.
Julia Land looked Uncle Moore in the eye, "I will not evade responsibility for this accident. We will set up an investigation team as soon as possible to identify the cause of the accident, while also initiating an emergency plan to minimize the loss to the greatest extent."
She turned to the other shareholders, "Ladies and gentlemen, I assure you that I will do my utmost to handle this accident and ensure the stability of the company and the interests of the shareholders are protected. Please give us some time, and we will soon present a satisfactory response."
The meeting room fell silent, with shareholders showing different expressions.
After a brief silence, half of the shareholders nodded in agreement, willing to give Julia Land some time to deal with the accident.
The other half of the shareholders did not express their stance, as they originally sided with Uncle Moore and now chose a wait-and-see attitude.
"One month’s time—if the stock of Moore Group is affected, I expect you to resign actively from the position of Moore Family’s Chairman."
Uncle Moore was the first to leave the meeting room, followed by the other shareholders who left one after another.
Watching them leave, Julia Land turned to Michael Scott and said, "Assistant Scott, contact the relevant departments immediately to activate the emergency plan, and dispatch the investigation team to the accident site without delay to ascertain the cause."
Assistant Scott nodded in response, "Okay, I’ll take care of it right away."
Julia Land walked out of the meeting room, continuing, "The public relations department must immediately develop an emergency public relations plan to reduce negative impact as much as possible. We need to issue a statement to the public and media, making it clear that we are actively dealing with the situation and will announce the investigation results in a timely manner."

Madame Bell still attended the performance of the Malay West Dance Troupe today.
And Mrs. Liu did not come today.
This made Madame Bell, who is usually cautious around strangers, slightly more at ease.
Admiring the graceful figures of the dancers on stage, Madame Bell nodded her head in approval; the dance troupe was indeed impressive.
After the one-hour performance ended, Madame Bell stood up and left the auditorium. Just as she reached the entrance of the auditorium, she encountered several familiar faces who had also come to watch the performance.
They were all acquaintances from the same social circles.
"Madame Bell, I didn’t expect to see you at the dance performance today," Jasmine Lewis said with a smile.
Madame Bell smiled in response, "I heard the performance was excellent, so I came to have a look."
Another lady leaned in, "I heard your family has recently found your long-lost daughter, which is wonderful news. It’s a shame I had something else during your banquet and couldn’t attend."
"Yes, we found her," replied Madame Bell, her eyes carrying a mix of complex emotions.
"Congratulations, congratulations," the ladies offered their congratulations.
"She is now the Chairman of Moore Group and also holds Moore Family’s shares; she really is very talented," the ladies praised.
Meanwhile, Jasmine Lewis scoffed inwardly, the man was dead.
"It’s a pity Mrs. Liu didn’t come today," Jasmine Lewis suddenly interjected, "I wanted to ask her to divine Celeste’s fortune for this year."
Jasmine Lewis was Celeste’s mother.
"Are you referring to Mrs. Liu from Malay West?" one lady quickly chimed in, "You know, her fortune-telling is truly adept, the Woods Family is a renowned fortune-telling family in Malay West."
"So impressive? Recently my son has been troubled about opening a store, I really must meet Mrs. Liu if I get the chance," another lady said, appearing very eager.
"So Mrs. Liu really can tell fortunes?" Madame Bell asked with some surprise, "Are you talking about the lady whose given name is Charlotte Woods?"
"Yes," Jasmine Lewis confirmed with a nod, "Mrs. Liu is not only skilled in reading facial features but also proficient in Bazi and Feng Shui, many say her predictions are incredibly accurate."
Madame Bell nodded, it turned out the Mrs. Liu she met yesterday was indeed a fortune-teller.
Most affluent families place importance on Feng Shui and Bazi.
Madame Bell took a car back home.
Connor Bell saw her and asked with concern, "Madame, how did you find the performance you went to today?"
Madame Bell nodded, "It was alright; the performance was wonderful."
"As long as you’re happy," Connor Bell smiled, "Madame, Julia will be bringing Dale home for dinner in a couple of days."
The mood of Madame Bell, which was rather pleasant until then, soured upon hearing Connor Bell mention Julia Land; she frowned and snorted, "She answers your phone calls."
Madame Bell, with a cold face, picked up the remote control and turned on the television, just as the TV program was broadcasting the news.
In the video, the host is interviewing a shareholder who just walked out of Moore Group, and the interviewee is Uncle Moore.
"Hello, Mr. Moore, will the shipwreck incident of Silicon Express affect Moore Group?" the host asked.
Uncle Moore faced the camera, smiled faintly, "That will depend on how our newly appointed Director Land handles the situation, but I believe Moore Group has sufficient capabilities and resources to deal with this crisis."
The host continued to press, "Then, will this accident affect the confidence of shareholders and investors?"
Uncle Moore maintained his composed demeanor, responding in a gentle tone, "Any enterprise will encounter various challenges during its development. As shareholders, we have confidence in the company’s management and emergency response abilities. With everyone’s joint efforts, I am certain that Moore Group will overcome this difficulty and continue to move forward steadily."
"Please believe in Director Land."
This last sentence was a meaningful addition.
The television scene shifted to the host’s concluding speech.
Madame Bell frowned after watching, turning to Connor Bell, "Moore Group is in trouble?"
She felt a vague sense of unease; her daughter seemed to have hit a streak of bad luck, and it always seemed like her fortune was not too good.
At that moment, she even briefly considered having Julia Land’s fortune told, hoping to seek some comfort.
Connor Bell frowned, "I’ll give Julia a call tonight."
He had managed companies before and sensed the potential risks this incident could bring; if not handled properly, it could indeed impact Julia Land’s position in Moore Group.
Madame Bell knitted her brows, "Do you think, should I have Julia’s fortune told?"
At this suggestion, Connor Bell’s expression instantly darkened, "You’d best not mention such things in front of Julia."
Madame Bell replied with some dissatisfaction, "What do you mean by ’such things’? I’m just concerned. Fortune-telling is something you’d rather believe exists, just in case."
Connor Bell firmly stated, "I believe our daughter is a capable person; she relies on her own efforts and abilities to solve problems. Why do you need to have her fortune told when everything is fine? Besides, she has the support of Bell Group, what’s there to worry about?"
Upon hearing this, although Madame Bell still felt somewhat reluctant, she had no intention of arguing with Connor Bell over this matter.
She sighed, "I’m just worried about her, why are you being harsh?"
"...I wasn’t being harsh," Connor Bell said gently, "I understand your concerns, but we need to believe in Julia’s abilities."
Madame Bell nodded, "I’ll go upstairs to rest for a bit."
While soaking in a bath, Madame Bell thought of Mrs. Liu from Malay West Dance Troupe; she decided to contact Mrs. Liu.
No matter what, she still felt the need to have Julia’s fortune told.
She reached for her phone and called Jasmine Lewis, asking for Mrs. Liu’s mobile number.
"Hello, Mrs. Liu, this is Madame Bell whom you met at the concert yesterday," Madame Bell’s voice was gentle.
A refined voice came from the other end, "Madame Bell, hello, how can I help you?"
Madame Bell smiled lightly, "Well, I would like you to take a look at my daughter’s natal chart."
Mrs. Liu pondered for a moment, then spoke slowly, "Madame Bell, could you provide your daughter’s birth details? I need this information for the calculation, and then we can set up a time to meet, as it will be clearer to discuss in person."
Madame Bell nodded, "Sure, you can decide the time for the meeting, I’ll send you her birth details in a moment, thank you."
Mrs. Liu’s lips curved into a smile, "You’re welcome."
After hanging up the phone, Madame Bell immediately sent Julia Land’s birth details to Mrs. Liu.
Hmm, she felt somewhat relieved now.
**
The night was falling.
Julia Land massaged her temples as she arrived home, her face weary with exhaustion.
She opened the door, and the warm and soft light from the hallway shone on the carpet, illuminating her tired figure.
James Thompson had been waiting for her at the entrance, his eyes warm and tender.
Upon seeing Julia come in, he bent down to help her out of her high heels.
His movements were gentle yet skilled.
Then he picked up a pair of comfortable slippers for her to wear.
Crouching on the floor, with a smile on his lips, he looked up, his eyes deep, "Julia, you’ve had a hard day."
