Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Paternity Test

"Julia Land, I have something important to tell you about your biological parents."

Grace Land looked eagerly at Julia Land and blurted out, "Just give me some money, not much, a few hundred thousand is enough, and I’ll tell you about your biological parents."

Julia Land drew out her words, "Oh?" She raised her eyebrow, not shaken in the least, and said with regret, "Miss Land, I’ve already found my biological parents."

Grace Land shook her head in confusion, "Found them? Don’t lie to me, that’s impossible, isn’t it? Your father came to see me the day before yesterday."

Julia Land’s eyes flickered with an ambiguous smile, "Oh, is that right? Where is he?"

At that moment, Madame Bell stood outside the drawing-room, clutching the two paternity reports in her hand.

Listening to the conversation between Julia Land and Grace Land, her face grew colder. She turned and left the drawing-room in anger.

Meanwhile, Grace Land thought she was about to get the money and said eagerly, "Transfer the money to me, and I’ll tell you about your biological parents."

Julia Land chuckled to herself; it was as if she was hearing a joke.

She stood up and walked over to Grace Land.

Looking down upon the disheveled Grace Land, her lips curled into a wicked smile, "I truly feel like you’ve gotten dumber with all those years you spent in prison."

Grace Land was shocked by Julia’s sudden 180-degree change in attitude, leaning back against the chair in disbelief, "Julia Land! What do you mean?"

Julia Land sighed, shaking her head as she spoke with disdain, "You are really, really strange. I’m thirty years old, not a baby anymore, well past the age of needing a mom and dad."

To her, things should just come naturally; she genuinely didn’t insist on anything.

Julia Land shrugged, "Actually, I’m also worried that some poor parents would suddenly appear, trying to claw at my money."

Were these the words of a human being?

Grace Land’s eyes widened in horror. What inhuman things was Julia Land saying!

Julia Land narrowed her eyes with a smile, "Miss Land, the man who sought you out the day before yesterday left you something. Victor Langston could use a stepfather."

She looked down with a sneer, glancing at the speechless Grace Land, then turned and left the drawing-room.

"Housekeeper, remove the person inside from the Bell residence," Julia Land instructed quietly as she passed the housekeeper.

"Yes, Miss," the housekeeper replied respectfully.

The housekeeper walked into the drawing-room and escorted Grace Land out.

Grace Land wanted to curse at Julia Land, but when she saw the housekeeper, she knew this was a household not to be trifled with.

She kept quiet, holding her breath.

Just as she was about to leave the drawing-room, Madame Bell appeared at the doorway.

Chloe Sullivan stood beside Madame Bell.

Madame Bell coldly said to Grace Land, "We need to talk."

Upon seeing Chloe Sullivan next to Madame Bell, a flash of surprise crossed Grace Land’s eyes. Was it her?

Grace Land quickly pretended she did not know Chloe Sullivan, looking at Madame Bell, "And you are?"

The housekeeper, surprised by Madame Bell’s appearance, respectfully exited the room, leaving the space for them.

Madame Bell sat down with a cold expression and a scrutinizing look in her eyes, "What exactly did you come to the Bells for today? Speak the truth, and I will give you a sum of money."

What a twist of fate.

"Really!" Grace Land’s tone was filled with surprise, "You’re not lying to me?"

Chloe Sullivan said softly, "Miss Land, please rest assured, my godmother won’t deceive you."

Happiness lit up Grace Land’s face, "I came to tell Julia Land about her biological parents."

**

Julia Land returned to the banquet hall, her gaze sweeping around, eventually meeting James Thompson’s eyes.

He stood not far away, his eyes filled with mirth.

Julia Land slightly smiled, picked up a glass of champagne from a waiter’s tray, and remotely toasted James Thompson.

Her red lips lightly touched the glass, she gracefully took a sip, and then approached Connor Bell.

Seeing Julia Land return, Connor Bell lowered his voice to ask, "All good?"

Julia Land shook her head with a smile, "All good, I had the housekeeper send her away. Dad, is the banquet about to begin?"

Connor Bell nodded and checked his wristwatch, "I’ll send a servant to call your mother over."

He ordered a servant to fetch Madame Bell.

Madame Bell arrived shortly after.

She walked over to Connor Bell and Julia Land with a warm smile on her face.

Connor Bell nodded slightly, signaling that the banquet was about to begin.

The Bell couple walked onto the stage hand in hand.

With a microphone in hand, Connor Bell smiled at the guests and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for joining us at this banquet today. It is a very important day for our Bell Family because we have finally found our long-lost daughter."

The guests applauded, their faces breaking into congratulatory smiles.

Just as Connor Bell was about to continue, Madame Bell stopped him, and he looked at her in surprise, "Madame?"

Madame Bell said with a smile, "Husband, let me say a few words."

Connor Bell nodded and handed the microphone to her.

Madame Bell swept her gaze over the guests below the stage and said with a smile, "Today is a special day, and I would like to invite someone onto the stage first."

She looked down at the crowd.

Chloe Sullivan, in good spirits, nudged Grace Land next to her and whispered, "Miss Land, my godmother is calling you onto the stage."

Thinking of the money Madame Bell had promised her, Grace Land gritted her teeth and walked onto the stage, trying to give herself a pep talk.

Her steps were somewhat stiff, and her heart was full of nerves.

James Thompson had somehow already taken his place beside Julia Land. Julia turned to look at him before turning her attention back to the stage.

Madame Bell looked at Julia Land with a cold gaze, her voice carrying a trace of iciness, "Originally, we thought Julia Land was our daughter, but it turned out that there are people who would deceive the Bell Family with such matters."

As Madame Bell’s words fell,

the guests below the stage buzzed with surprise.

They began whispering amongst themselves.

They were shocked by Madame Bell’s words,

and their eyes focused on Julia Land, filled with suspicion.

Madame Bell asked Grace Land to speak.

Under the scrutinizing eyes of the distinguished guests below, Grace Land nervously said, "Julia Land’s father is a lazy thug, and her mother has already died from illness."

Chloe Sullivan stepped onto the stage, lifting a paternity test report in her hand. She angrily looked at Julia Land, her voice full of accusation, "Director Land, both of these paternity test results can prove that you are not part of the Bell Family."

"You have already gotten Moore Group, yet you still have the audacity to impersonate the Bell Family’s daughter. Your greed knows no bounds!"

The guests were in an uproar again, a plot to seize family assets?

"Such audacity, to do such a thing!"

"What a malicious woman, could Christopher Moore have been killed by her?"

"Terrifying."

Chloe Sullivan felt extremely triumphant; she could already see the light of victory.

She imagined the condemnation and scorn from the Bell Family and those in their social circle toward Julia Land, her heart filled with satisfaction.

From now on, Julia Land would live like a rat in a sewer!

Madame Bell coldly looked down at Julia Land with eyes full of disappointment, "Director Land, can you tell me where you have sent my daughter? If you don’t want to end up in prison, tell me where she is honestly."

Julia Land smiled sardonically, clapping her hands cheerfully as she walked onto the stage.

Madame Bell looked on in bewilderment at Julia Land’s reaction, while Chloe Sullivan thought Julia was shamelessly throwing caution to the wind.

Julia Land stood next to Connor Bell, took his arm, and tilted her head playfully, smiling as she said, "Dad, it’s your turn to come out, the play might have frightened the guests."

The succession of events left everyone dumbstruck.

Connor Bell smiled wryly; he never expected things to turn out just as James Thompson had predicted.

Madame Bell looked puzzled at Connor Bell and Julia Land, "Husband?"

Connor Bell stepped forward and took the microphone, his voice steady, "Ladies and gentlemen, the initial purpose of today’s banquet was to announce that Julia Land is my daughter, the Bell Family’s daughter. Regarding her identity, we have conducted multiple paternity tests. However, there will always be those who fantasize about stirring up trouble."

Upon hearing this, Chloe Sullivan’s face changed instantly. What does this mean?

Chloe Sullivan was shocked.

And Madame Bell was even more shocked.

What on earth was her husband saying?

The paternity test results they had received today clearly indicated they were not related!!!
