Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Be Jealous

"Exactly alike," Madame Gunn gazed at the photo on her phone, sighing, "You haven’t seen your great-grandmother’s photo, but whose child is she?"

Madame Gunn asked curiously, her silvery hair full, and her face adorned with a kind smile, yet her eyes flickered with puzzlement and surprise.

When Julia Land was mentioned, Madame Bell showed little interest. She sat elegantly on the sofa, a faint smile on her face, but her gaze was somewhat cold.

However, as a son-in-law, Connor Bell couldn’t behave as casually as Madame Bell.

He replied, "She is the daughter-in-law of the Moore Family, now the chairwoman of Moore Group, but whose child she is, we don’t know; we never investigated."

Madame Gunn nodded slightly, her face thoughtful, "The Chairwoman of Moore Group, truly a remarkable young woman."

Ava King exclaimed, "It’s such a coincidence, could Julia’s maternal family have some connection with the Gunn Family?"

This comment plunged Connor Bell into deep thought.

Connor Bell paused and then slowly said, "I’ll have someone look into her family background."

Madame Gunn nodded, "Investigating her background might reveal some unexpected findings."

Her words were said in jest, yet they carried a hint of anticipation.

Connor Bell harbored doubts, but he didn’t voice them, deciding instead to first send someone to investigate Julia’s background.

The villa purchased for Sophia Hart had finished processing, and she could move in today.

Julia made a special trip to see if she needed any help.

When she arrived, she saw Sophia energetically directing the placement of furniture, showing no signs of the despondency from a few days ago.

When Sophia saw Julia enter the villa, she immediately came to greet her, her smile sweet, "Sister Julia, you’re already so busy, you didn’t need to come check on me."

Julia raised an eyebrow, "Is there anything else you need to buy? We could go shopping together, and grab something to eat."

"Hm? What about Brother Thompson? Isn’t he jealous?" Sophia playfully asked.

Julia laughed softly, her lips curling up slightly, "He can stay at home and be jealous. Today is our day."

Mentioning Mr. Thompson, a flicker of indulgence and resignation passed through Julia’s eyes.

Sophia giggled, envy evident in her eyes, "It’s wonderful, Sister Julia, the love between you and Brother Thompson is truly enviable."

While they were chatting casually, the butler came in with a bouquet of roses, respectfully stating, "Miss, there are flowers sent here by Mr. Andrew Benson."

Sophia was stunned for a moment, a complex expression crossing her face, "Throw them away."

Butler, "Yes."

Seeing that the room was almost done, she and Julia left together.

Their first stop was the mall.

Julia spotted Benjamin Taylor standing at the entrance of the store.

"What exactly is going on with him?" she whispered, leaning close to Sophia.

As Sophia picked out bed sheets, she looked up and saw Benjamin outside the store, scoffing, "Not familiar."

She pursed her lips, "I’ve made it clear to him, but he refuses to give up."

Benjamin acting pitiful was useless.

The incident was like a fishbone stuck in her throat, uncomfortable.

Julia smiled, deciding not to continue the topic.

If they weren’t familiar, then they weren’t.

Benjamin stood outside the store, his gaze firmly locked on Sophia.

His tall figure and handsome features carried a unique charisma, attracting the eyes of passersby.

His deep eyes appeared especially helpless at that moment.

When he saw Sophia walking out, he quickly approached, trying to speak again, "Sophia, I..."

He hadn’t finished his sentence when Sophia gave him a cold glance.

Dressed in a simple yet elegant white dress, her long hair cascading down her shoulders, her innocent face carried a hint of defiance.

"Sister Julia, let’s go," she said without hesitation.

Benjamin pressed his lips together, feeling a surge of helplessness.

This girl was really angry, and mollifying her would not be easy.

He was usually confident, but now he appeared somewhat disheartened.

Julia glanced at Benjamin, then took Sophia’s hand, "Okay, let’s go. Are you hungry? Shall we go eat something?"

The two walked past Benjamin and continued on.

Benjamin stood rooted to the spot, watching Sophia’s departing figure, his eyes filled with helplessness.

He knew that he had lost her trust in his heart.

After walking a bit, Julia asked softly, "Sophia, are you okay?"

Sophia took a deep breath, managing a weak smile, "I’m fine, Sister Julia, I just want to avoid him for now."

Her drooping eyelashes trembled slightly, revealing her inner turmoil.

Memories related to Benjamin hovered like persistent dark clouds occasionally casting shadows over her heart.

Julia nodded, "I understand." In an effort to divert Sophia’s gloomy mood, Julia suggested, "How about we sneak out for some spicy hot pot today?"

They couldn’t let Mr. Thompson know about the spicy hot pot.

**

The afternoon sunlight streamed through the hospital window into the room, adding a touch of warmth.

Madame Bell entered the ward with chicken soup prepared by the family chef.

"Godmother, you’re so good to me."

Chloe Sullivan smiled as she took the chicken soup, her face showing gratefulness.

She was dressed in hospital attire, her soft complexion looking even more delicate.

Madame Bell gave her a scrutinizing look, though her eyes were full of care, "Drink up the soup and nourish your body."

Chloe blinked her slightly red eyes and poured herself a bowl of chicken soup. She bowed her head and took a sip, the warm broth bringing her a sense of warmth.

Madame Bell sat on the sofa, suddenly thought of something, and asked, "Chloe, do you know about Julia Land’s family background?"

Chloe paused, then raised her head, a trace of puzzlement in her eyes. She smiled and said, "Godmother, I know her quite well, after all, we’re both from Dunmore City, and we’ve had our grievances."

Her voice was calm and open when she mentioned the grievances.

Madame Bell knew the grievances she spoke of involved the Thompson family.

Chloe casually asked, "Godmother, why suddenly ask about Julia’s matter?"

She lowered her eyelashes, yet her eyes carried a hint of inquiry.

Madame Bell laughed and said, "Nothing special, just that she resembles great-grandma a lot, so our family became curious about her family background."

Chloe’s eyes flashed with surprise, "Really that similar?"

Her voice trembled slightly, clearly shocked by this information.

Madame Bell nodded, "It should be very similar."
