Chapter 219 Coldly
Chapter 219: Chapter 219 Coldly
"Mr. Isaac, I’m really sorry about what happened last time," Julia Land said sincerely.
Tonight, she had specially invited Isaac to dinner to apologize for the incident that had occurred at the hotel.
The misunderstanding had greatly impacted the cooperation between both parties.
Isaac sat opposite her, his expression stern, but his eyes held a hint of curiosity.
James Thompson had actually stepped forward for Julia Land.
He looked at Julia Land, a gentleman’s faint smile on his face, "Director Land, since everything has been thoroughly investigated and the misunderstanding has been cleared up, that’s good."
Although Isaac’s words were pretty and pleasing to hear,
Julia Land was very clear in her heart that the incident had made him doubt the management of the Moore Group; he would think there were problems with their management.
Julia Land’s smile remained unchanged as she raised her glass, "Thank you for giving Moore another chance."
Isaac lifted his glass, "I hope we have the opportunity to work together, cheers."
The two gently clinked glasses.
The atmosphere finally began to relax.
After dinner, Isaac looked at Julia Land, "Director Land, I had a pleasant dinner tonight, thank you."
Julia Land smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Isaac. I am really looking forward to our successful cooperation this time, goodbye."
Isaac nodded, "Goodbye, Director Land."
Julia Land watched Isaac get into his car and leave.
She planned her next steps in her mind; she bent down to get into her car, then saw James Thompson.
"?"
Mr. Thompson put down his book very seriously, "I was worried about you having dinner alone with another man, so I came here to pick you up."
Julia Land tried to hold back her laughter, her tone was cold, "What do you mean? You actually don’t trust my ’vast and flowing’ feelings for you?"
James Thompson raised his eyebrows, pretending to be serious, "Of course, it’s not that I don’t trust you; I was just concerned about you. I was scared you might find it too exhausting to cope and was waiting to ’come to the rescue’."
Julia Land looked at his earnest expression and finally couldn’t help laughing, "Okay, since you were so worried, thank you for coming to pick me up."
She moved closer to him with a smile, took his hand, and said softly, "Thank you, Mr. Thompson."
James Thompson gently squeezed her hand, sighed, "I wish we could go get our marriage certificate tomorrow."
The atmosphere inside the car was warm. Julia Land leaned on James Thompson’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of his palm, "Mm, what to do, I want to get the certificate too."

It was rare for Madame Gunn to come to Capital City, so naturally, Madame Bell would ask Maxwell Bell and Chloe Sullivan to come over for dinner.
Maxwell Bell went to the hospital to pick up Chloe Sullivan and, seeing her complexion had improved, also felt somewhat relieved.
"Your complexion looks much better," Maxwell Bell said gently.
Chloe Sullivan smiled and nodded, "Yeah, maybe it’s because I’ve come to terms with things. My mood has improved, and so has my complexion. Arthur, is Madame Gunn easy to get along with?"
Maxwell Bell replied, "Grandma is actually quite amiable. As long as you don’t do anything to upset her, she generally won’t make things difficult for anyone."
Chloe Sullivan thought for a moment, her voice very soft, "That’s good. I don’t want to cause any trouble for my godmother and them."
The two chatted all the way and, before they knew it, they arrived at the Bell family home.
Madame Bell eagerly welcomed them inside. Seeing that Chloe Sullivan’s complexion had already improved, she also showed a relieved smile on her face.
Madame Bell said warmly, "Little Chloe, your complexion has gotten much better. Rest well during this time and don’t think too much."
Chloe Sullivan nodded with a smile, "Thank you, godmother. I will."
Maxwell Bell greeted Madame Gunn and Ava King.
Madame Bell took Chloe Sullivan by the arm and introduced her to Madame Gunn, "Mom, sister-in-law, this is Chloe Sullivan, my adopted goddaughter."
Chloe Sullivan greeted them shyly and respectfully.
Madame Gunn smiled warmly, her face kind, "Child, come sit next to grandma."
Chloe Sullivan took a seat beside Madame Gunn.
Madame Gunn gently patted Chloe Sullivan’s hand; her eyes were full of affection, "Good child, when you saved Lyra all those years ago, our whole family was grateful to you."
Chloe Sullivan smiled.
The atmosphere in the Bell Family was very good.
"Does Arthur have a girlfriend yet?" Madame Gunn asked with concern.
Arthur’s parents had passed away early, and he was raised by the Bell couple, so Madame Gunn was truly concerned about him.
Madame Bell shook her head with a smile, "Mom, don’t get me started, he’s all about work all day, but his love life has never taken off."
Madame Gunn chuckled, "Arthur, work is important, but you can’t neglect your love life. You should find a nice girl."
Chloe chimed in with a smile, "Brother Arthur is so outstanding; he will definitely find the right person."
She lowered her gaze to hide a fleeting contemplation.
Madame Bell agreed, "Yes, Little Chloe is right. Arthur, don’t be too picky, and try to spend more time with someone suitable."
Arthur hadn’t expected the conversation to turn to him, and he nodded helplessly, "Grandma, I know, I’ll wait for the right moment."
After dinner, Madame Bell asked Arthur to drive Chloe home.
Arthur and Chloe left the Bell residence and got into the car, which was quiet.
Chloe smiled and looked out of the window, "I wonder what kind of girl Brother Arthur likes?"
"Hmm?" Arthur thought for a moment, "I don’t know, I’ve never thought about it."
After they left, Madame Gunn, due to her age, also went back to her room to rest early.
Then Ava King suddenly remembered the photograph of their great-grandmother that Madame Gunn had mentioned. She asked Madame Bell for the album, "You have no idea, we were at the mall, and Mom saw a woman who looked very much like our great-grandmother. She suddenly chased after her, which gave me quite the scare."
Madame Bell became curious when she heard this, "Ah? Mom put our great-grandmother’s photo in my album? Let me go look for it."
She rarely looked at the family albums at home.
Madame Bell went to get the album and handed it to Ava King, "Here you go, sister-in-law."
Ava King took the album and smiled, "I’ll show it to Mom tomorrow. I don’t even know which one is our great-grandmother’s picture."
Madame Bell nodded.
**
The next morning.
After breakfast, Ava King went upstairs to get the album for Madame Gunn to see.
"Mom, is this the album you talked about yesterday? Can you see if there’s a picture of our great-grandmother?" Ava King said.
Madame Bell, curious, also sat down beside Madame Gunn to look, "Mom, why did you bring our great-grandmother’s photo to the Bell residence?"
Madame Gunn took the album, flipping through it page by page, and replied to her daughter, "I did put a few generations of the Gunn Family pictures in there."
It’s uncertain how much time had passed.
"Hmm? Strange, why can’t I see the picture? Lyra, did you put it somewhere else?"
Madame Bell, puzzled, "Can’t see the picture? Mom, are you sure you remember correctly? Maybe the picture isn’t with me?"
"Impossible, it was in this album," Madame Gunn frowned.
Ava King glanced at the album and suggested, "Mom, perhaps you should flip through it again carefully; maybe it’s placed elsewhere."
Madame Gunn went through the album once more.
"This is odd, could the picture really not be here?" Madame Gunn muttered to herself, her brows slightly furrowed.
Connor Bell had been listening to the conversation between Madame Gunn and the others. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he took out his phone and quickly searched for news reports on Julia Land.
After finding a photo of Julia Land, he showed his phone to Madame Gunn.
"Mom, does she look like the person?"
Madame Gunn took the phone and looked carefully at the picture on the screen.
After she finished looking, her expression turned to surprise, and she nodded, "Yes, that’s her! She really does look a lot like your great-grandmother when she was young. It was her that I saw at the mall the other day."
Madame Bell and Ava King also leaned over to look,
Madame Bell was immediately astonished, "Julia Land? It’s really her, why does she look so much like our great-grandmother? Mom, make sure you look carefully."
