Chapter 214: Chapter 214 Intensely
Maxwell Bell still felt uneasy, so he rushed to Chloe Sullivan’s villa. While he was in the car, he had already called a locksmith and an ambulance.
Better safe than sorry.
He rang the doorbell while urging the locksmith to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, he dashed upstairs in a panic to find her.
He found Chloe in the bathroom.
The bathtub was stained with blood.
"Little Chloe."
Maxwell Bell’s face was stern as he lifted her out of the bathtub and quickly placed her on the bed, then grabbed a towel to tightly wrap around Chloe’s wrists.
"Little Chloe, can you hear me speaking?"
Chloe had already lost consciousness.
Before long, Maxwell Bell heard the sound of the ambulance.
He carried Chloe downstairs and into the ambulance.
At the entrance of the emergency room in the hospital.
Maxwell Bell rubbed his brow and made a call to Connor Bell.
He couldn’t tell Auntie directly about Chloe’s sudden attempt at slitting her wrists since Auntie’s health was frail.
"Uncle, I don’t know what happened to Chloe, she got desperate tonight, and she is now in the emergency room."
Connor Bell frowned deeply and said solemnly, "I will talk to your Auntie about this matter. Call me again with any updates."
"Okay." Maxwell Bell hung up the phone.
After the call, Maxwell Bell stood anxiously at the door of the emergency room, waiting.
He didn’t know how long had passed when the door of the emergency room opened and a doctor came out, "The patient is temporarily out of life-threatening danger, and we’ve stopped her bleeding."
Maxwell Bell instantly breathed a sigh of relief and gratefully said, "Doctor, thank you."
The doctor gave a couple of instructions, "When the patient wakes up, if she is emotionally unstable, she will need her family to care for and support her."
Maxwell Bell nodded, "Thank you."

Julia Land walked out of Moore Group in the evening and saw James Thompson standing beside a motorcycle.
She approached and touched the motorcycle seat, her lips curving into a smile.
"I came to take you home," James Thompson said tenderly.
He handed her a helmet, put one on himself, swung his long legs over, and turned to look at Julia Land.
Julia Land, with her helmet on, steadied herself against James’s waist and took her seat on the bike.
James started the motorcycle and said softly, "Little Julia, hold on tight."
Julia wrapped her arms around the man’s waist and tightened her grip, "Okay."
The motorcycle traveled through the night, the city lights flickering brightly and dimly on them.
The scenery on the roadside kept changing.
"Want to have a barbecue?" James’s voice reached Julia’s ears through the helmet.
"Yes."
James took a turn at the upcoming intersection, ahead was a street that held the night market.
The night market was too crowded.
Julia chose to buy barbecue to take home.
Arriving at the house, James brought the motorcycle to a stop.
They both took off their helmets.
Julia hooked one arm around James’s neck, tiptoed, and kissed him passionately.
His eyes were filled with indulgence.
"Mr. Thompson, thank you for picking me up to take me home," Julia said, catching her breath softly.
They looked at each other and smiled.
Hand in hand, they walked into the home, where the lighting was soft and comforting.
The butler, seeing the masters return, professionally left the main villa.
Julia, thinking about the barbecue, quickly took a shower, checked on her daughter, and then went downstairs.
James, in a black nightshirt, carried out a plate of barbecue and a warm glass of milk from the kitchen.
He saw Julia coming downstairs and, smiling, asked, "Where would you like to eat?"
Julia walked down and took the glass of milk from his hand, "The living room is fine."
In the living room, the television was on.
They ate and chatted.
Julia seemed in good spirits as she enjoyed the barbecue.
James brought up their daughter Dale’s kindergarten options, "I’ve compared several kindergartens, there are three worth considering."
Julia nodded decisively, "Tomorrow afternoon, let’s go take a look together."
After all, only a first-hand inspection would be reassuring, especially when it concerned her daughter; Julia Land would make time no matter what.
At that moment, James’s phone vibrated on the coffee table; he picked it up and quickly glanced at a message.
Chloe Sullivan in the hospital from a slit wrist?
She’s still alive.
He showed the message to Julia.
Julia bit into a piece of beef, looked at the message, and turned to James with a puzzled look, "What’s she doing?"
"A ploy for attention," James stated simply and clearly.
He didn’t believe for a second that Chloe wanted to die.

The next morning, at the Bell Family home after breakfast.
Connor Bell informed Madame Bell about Chloe’s despair from the night before, "She’s out of danger now, no need to worry too much."
Madame Bell sighed, her feelings a bit complicated, "Let’s go to the hospital to see her later."
Connor Bell didn’t try to stop Madame Bell, "Okay."
They changed clothes and left for the hospital.
The Bell couple walked into the ward, Maxwell Bell stood up and moved a chair to the bedside for Madame Bell.
Madame Bell, looking at Chloe lying in the hospital bed, felt a surge of pity.
Chloe’s face was pale, her wrist wrapped in bandages, and she looked listless.
Madame Bell said softly, "Little Chloe, godmother hopes you’ll take good care of yourself and recover quickly. I’m waiting for our outing together, all those troubles are already behind us."
Chloe closed her eyes, tears falling from the corners.
Madame Bell held Chloe’s other uninjured hand, "You child."
Connor Bell stood by, his face solemn, and slowly said, "Little Chloe, we are your family too. Whatever happens, you have us. Right now, the most important thing is for you to heal."
Chloe, listening to the Bell couple’s words, opened her eyes to look at them, her voice weak, "Godmother, I’m sorry."
Madame Bell sighed, wiping the tears from Chloe’s face, "Don’t think about it anymore, it’s all in the past."
Chloe’s heart eased.
She had played her move right.
