Chapter 201: Chapter 201 Honey-coated

Julia Land got off the cruise ship and slid into the car.

Waiting for her inside, James Thompson draped a coat over her shoulders.

He checked her hands.

They were slightly cold.

James adjusted the temperature of the car’s air conditioning.

As soon as Julia got into the car, she was pampered with a series of actions James took to prevent her from catching a cold.

She smiled a moving, enchanting smile.

She smiled, but James did not.

Not only did he not smile, but his eyes also darkened with intensity.

James seemed a bit off.

Julia watched him with curiosity and reached out to hold his hand, "What’s wrong?"

Everything was fine, so why had he suddenly changed...

The man suddenly lifted her up, parted her legs, and sat her down on his lap.

Throughout this time, James had been gently, tenderly cherishing Julia.

It was a rediscovered love.

He had been keeping his desire to tie her to his belt in check at all times.

Would she have been in danger tonight if he had arrived at the cruise ship any later?

This thought fired up the unease and control buried deep within him, a feeling that she was only safe when she was right by his side.

Yet he knew she didn’t like to be restrained.

He hugged her tightly, his chin resting on her shoulder.

Julia too sensed something off about James’s mood and raised her hand, her fingers threading through his hair.

"Mr. Thompson, what’s wrong?"

"I’m very worried about you."

Worried that something might happen to you again when I can’t see you.

Five years of ceaseless searching and anxiety had deeply etched itself into his heart.

It didn’t take long for Julia to understand what James was worried and scared about.

Not knowing how else to comfort him, she lightly touched his lips.

At this moment, James shed the gentleness he had shown since they met.

The car’s sound insulation was not good.

Julia bit into his clothes, keeping any embarrassing sounds from escaping.

James was reckless this time, as if he wanted to meld her into his very flesh and blood.

Fortunately, he was still careful not to hurt her.

It felt soft and flimsy, almost like being on a cloud.

She tried to lift her hips to move away but was firmly pressed down by him.

When Julia woke up, she was met with her daughter’s innocent eyes, untouched by the mundane world.

Upon seeing her mom awake, Dale Land flashed a toothy grin and called out, "Daddy, Mommy’s awake!"

Julia, finding humor in the situation, stretched out her arm to embrace the little one and sniffed her neck.

There was a sweet scent of body wash on her daughter.

Dale Land felt ticklish and started to giggle, shrinking her neck in response.

James emerged from the bathroom to find mother and daughter rolling around and playing on the bed.

He walked over, first lifting the smaller one off the bed and then reaching to lift the bigger one, taking her to the bathroom.

"Brush your teeth, then have lunch."

"Hmm?" Julia looked outside the window. The sun was shining brightly; was it already noon?

James put her down and asked with a raised eyebrow, "Are your legs too weak to stand?"

Julia grinned sheepishly, "Help your gracious lady here."

Her legs were weak, but she was thick-skinned enough to admit it.

James wrapped an arm around her as she brushed her teeth. After she finished, he leaned in close to her ear and whispered softly, "I applied some medicine on you last night; I’ll do it again in a bit."

He had been a bit rough last night.

James was self-critical.

Julia instinctively glanced towards the bathroom door, relieved that Dale hadn’t followed them.

Her ears reddened, and she glanced at him with reproach, "I’ll do it myself."

Did she not have a sense of shame in broad daylight?

James walked over to close the bathroom door and washed his hands, pulling a tube of ointment from his pocket.

"Don’t move, I’ll do it myself!" Julia warned him in a lowered voice.

James huffed coldly. He lifted Julia, seating her on the edge of the bathtub, "You’ll do it yourself? Can you even reach..."

Julia covered his mouth.

This man dared to say anything.

James smiled, crouched down, parted her legs, and applied the ointment for her.

Julia endured the discomfort as sweat beaded on his forehead.

"Daddy, Mommy!"

"..."

At the door, Dale Land’s call brought the two in the bathroom to an immediate halt.

James finished applying the ointment and helped her straighten her skirt.

Having a little one around really does make things inconvenient, Mr. Thompson sighed.

Julia Land kicked him, telling him to go wash his hands and get out first.

After lunch, it was now past 12 noon, and Julia Land had no plans to go to the office this afternoon.

She hadn’t spent quality time with her daughter and James Thompson for a while.

She suggested, "How about we go out for a bit this afternoon?"

James Thompson naturally had no objections, and Dale Land, hearing they were going out to play, could only be happy and wouldn’t possibly object.

The whole family changed their clothes, and only then did Julia Land realize that at some point, James Thompson had prepared a full wardrobe of matching family outfits.

Looking at the matching outfits in the closet, Julia Land was moved, hooked James Thompson’s neck, and gave him a kiss.

The three of them wore clothes with patterns and styles that matched.

It just made one feel good.

Julia Land went to prepare the picnic mat and food.

Dale Land looked for toys she wanted to bring on her own.

James Thompson and Julia Land didn’t interfere with what the little one wanted to bring.

That’s why, when they saw Dale Land holding a small cage with a baby duck inside, there was a moment of silence.

"Mommy, the baby duck wants to go out and play too," Dale Land said, tilting her head and asking, "Can it?"

Julia Land found this both funny and adorable, but she didn’t object, "Sure."

So the whole family, including a baby duck, went off to the biggest lawn in Capital City for a picnic.

Parents who had time would bring their children to this lawn to have picnics or to fly kites.

Before leaving the house, Julia Land and James Thompson would disguise themselves a bit.

With masks on and hats on, it hid their eye-catching features.

There was no traffic jam today, they were lucky, and it took them just forty minutes to reach the lawn.

James Thompson went and bought a kite from an older woman selling them at a street stall.

Julia Land sat on the mat, watching James Thompson teach Dale Land how to fly the kite.

Occasionally, she took out her phone to take pictures of the father and daughter for keepsake.

Her daughter’s laughter and joy also made Julia Land smile.

As it approached four in the afternoon, Dale Land was tired from playing, and their family ended today’s picnic.

"I’ll cook dinner myself tonight," Julia Land decided.

"Wouldn’t it be too tiring?"

There were designated chefs at home, and when it was time, the chef and the housekeepers naturally came to work at the villa.

Both James Thompson and Julia Land didn’t like people at home, and as such, the housekeepers would leave the main villa once they finished their tasks.

"No, just a few dishes, it’s fine."

James Thompson, holding Dale Land in one arm and holding Julia Land’s hand with the other, said, "I’ll take care of washing the vegetables."

The fridge at home already had vegetables, so Julia Land didn’t need to go to the supermarket.

The three of them, plus the baby duck, returned home; Julia Land bathed, tied up her hair, changed clothes, and went to the kitchen.

James Thompson waited until Dale Land was washed up and settled to start drawing, and then he himself quickly took a shower and went to the kitchen to help Julia Land.

Just the three of them, Julia Land didn’t plan on cooking too much and wasting food.

Three dishes and a soup were enough.

James Thompson washed the vegetables and could only stand dryly by the side, attentively watching her cook.

Julia Land turned around to grab a bowl and saw James Thompson constantly watching her.

"Mr. Thompson, please turn around and wait for me outside," she said.

James Thompson didn’t move.

Well, if he wanted to watch, then watch.

Julia Land used the bowl to serve the food.

James Thompson went ahead and carried the dishes out.

The last one was the soup, and as Julia Land was about to carry it out, James Thompson blocked her way, "It’s hot soup, let me do it."

During the meal, the father and daughter were as sweet as if their mouths had been smeared with honey.

Dale Land raised her little thumb, "Mommy, this is really, really good."

James Thompson raised an eyebrow and silently gave a thumbs-up, "It’s delicious, thank you for the hard work."

If it weren’t for the little light bulb around, James Thompson would have given Julia Land a thank-you kiss.

But no matter, they would wait until night when the door was closed.

Under the table, Julia Land stepped on James Thompson’s foot.

She knew what he was thinking by his lazy and seductive gaze.

Bell Family.

Today Chloe Sullivan brought the earrings she had taken a photo of on the cruise ship to the Bell Family to give to Madame Bell.

In the evening, she naturally stayed to have dinner with the Bell couple.

It had always been just the two of them eating, and now with an extra person, Madame Bell was quite happy.

After dinner, Chloe Sullivan watched television with Madame Bell for a while.

Meanwhile, Connor Bell sat on the opposite sofa, reading a financial magazine.

While Connor Bell was reading the financial magazine, he happened to see a report about Julia Land acquiring Silicon Express.

He looked at Julia Land’s photo in the magazine and suddenly remembered where he had seen this face before.

He set the magazine down and turned to Madame Bell, "Madame, where did you put the photo albums you brought from your parents’ house?"
