Chapter 199 Bullying People
Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Bullying People
Chloe Sullivan had been downcast for the past few days.
Madame Bell noticed it and thought about the charity banquet the Lewis Family was hosting on the cruise ship tonight. She called Arthur.
"Arthur, are you attending the Lewis Family’s banquet tonight? If you are, could you take Chloe with you to clear her mind? I heard they will auction off paintings by Master Mingde tonight; Chloe might be interested."
Arthur hadn’t planned on going to the cruise ship for the banquet tonight, but taking Chloe seemed fine. "Auntie, I’ll pick up Chloe tonight."
Madame Bell sighed as she spoke to Arthur about Julia Land, "I didn’t expect Julia Land to be the woman breaking Chloe’s heart. She even had a child with James Thompson. I wonder if Eleanor and the others will hold a grudge when they grow up."
Arthur frowned, annoyed by the mess. How could Christopher Moore marry a woman who had another man’s child?
He reassured Madame Bell, "Chloe has the protection of the Bell Family now; no need to worry about her being bullied."
Madame Bell thought about it and felt somewhat relieved, though still a bit unsettled.
"The Lewis Family holds a charity banquet every three years, and this time it’s on a cruise ship."
Assistant Scott drove Julia Land to the cruise ship today.
Julia changed into her dress at the office and did her makeup before leaving.
She looked down at her phone, texting James Thompson, "I’m heading to the harbor now."
James was cutting paper flowers with Dale Land and estimated the time after seeing the message, "I’ll be there half an hour later."
James generally wasn’t interested in this kind of banquet, but since Julia had just taken over the Moore Group, it was necessary for her to attend as a form of networking.
He sent Julia a picture of the flower he had just cut, "Mr. Thompson’s paper-cutting skills, impressive right?"
Julia, with a smile playing on her lips, bluntly replied, "So ugly."
James, "I humbly accept the criticism."
He chuckled.
Dale held the scissors, hearing her father’s laughter, she looked up, "Daddy."
James immediately said, "Dale, well done, you did it right."
Dale beamed a smile.

Julia had just gotten out of the car when she smelled the sea breeze hitting her face.
She handed her invitation to the person in charge of receiving the guests.
She walked into the cruise ship, where soft, comfortable music played and several couples were dancing.
Julia had just taken a seat when Chloe Lewis came over with a glass of wine, "Director Land, thank you for making time to come."
Chloe Lewis got Julia a glass of wine from a waiter.
The two of them merely sipped the wine as a gesture.
Chloe Sullivan walked into the cruise ship, arm in arm with Arthur.
"Arthur, I’m going to the third-floor auction room. I’ll call you after it’s over."
"Do you need me to accompany you?"
"No need."
The cruise ship had three floors: the first was the dance hall, the second was a recreational area, and the third was the auction hall.
Chloe went straight to the auction hall on the third floor.
Arthur was on the first floor when he saw Chloe Lewis. He greeted her, then turned to Julia, "Director Land, I’ve looked at the information you provided last time. We’ll talk in detail another day."
Julia paused briefly, then looked up at Arthur with a smile, "Thank you for giving Moore Group a chance."
Chloe Lewis had other guests to attend to, so she left with her wine glass first.
Arthur looked down at Julia, considering Chloe Sullivan’s recent melancholy and found himself and Julia equally silent with nothing further to discuss.
Julia looked at her wristwatch, preparing to visit the second floor’s recreational area.
Just then, Chloe came down to find Arthur. Her gaze slid past Julia towards Arthur, "Arthur, come with me to the third-floor auction hall. There is a pair of earrings I want to buy for my godmother."
Right then, Julia, who had started walking away first, was suddenly blocked by two bodyguards, "Miss Land, our boss wants to talk to you. Our boss’s surname is Moore."
Meaning it was someone from the Moore Family.
Julia raised an eyebrow.
Arthur glanced at Julia. These two seemed somewhat unfriendly.
Chloe, tugging on Arthur’s arm, "Arthur, we need to hurry, or someone else might buy it."
Arthur nodded. After all, Moore Family’s matters were none of the Bell Family’s concern.
The Bell Family would not interfere.
Julia watched Arthur and Chloe walking away and withdrew her gaze.
She then felt a knife press against her lower back.
It seemed she had no choice but to go.
She wondered whose bold idea it was to confront her at a Lewis Family-hosted event.
*
The cruise ship’s second floor also had private rooms.
Simon Moore invited Julia to sit down.
The bodyguards put away the knife.
Julia Land walked over, sat down, and looked at Simon Moore calmly. "Is there something you wanted?"
Before she returned to the country, Christopher Moore had already shown her the Moore Family’s information.
Simon Moore held fifteen percent of the Moore Group’s shares.
"Let me introduce myself, I am Simon Moore. I’ve been traveling abroad recently," Simon’s fingertips pinched a cigarette. He took a puff and slowly exhaled the smoke, saying, "Miss Land, are you interested in selling your Moore Group shares?"
He pointed out his intention directly.
He was not worried that she could resist.
Julia Land smiled, crossed her legs, and tilted her head, "You must be joking, why would I sell my shares when everything is fine?"
"You are not a Moore, and Christopher is already dead. Holding onto the Moore Group’s shares, don’t you feel they are burning hot?"
Simon pushed a contract towards Julia for her to see.
"The price will surely satisfy Miss Land."
Julia opened the contract and glanced at it; saying the price was reasonable was somewhat humorous.
She pushed the contract back, "I’m not interested in selling."
Simon smiled and snuffed out his cigarette in the ashtray, "Miss Land, why bother? You’re young and can still find someone to love, get married, have children."
Julia raised an eyebrow, "I can get married and have children without selling my shares."
Simon stood up, walked behind Julia, and placed a hand on her shoulder, leaning close to her ear with his thin lips, "Those with short lives don’t get to enjoy these things."
Julia turned her head and chuckled softly, her delicate, pale neck looking so fragile, "Are you threatening me?"
Simon was surprised that Julia was not afraid; he carefully scanned her expression.
There was no sign of fear.
Simon returned to his original seat and pushed the contract towards her again, "Are you sure you won’t reconsider?"
The bodyguard went to open the window.
Simon looked out the window, the cruise ship had already set sail.
The sound of waves hitting the cruise ship could be heard inside the cabin.
"Miss Land, I wonder if you can swim? This window is just right for your slim figure."
At that moment, at the port.
The cruise ship was no longer there.
James Thompson frowned, pulled out his phone, and called Julia.
No one answered the phone on the other end.
James pursed his lips, "Prepare the yacht, call Chloe Lewis."
Jasper Winters tried calling Chloe Lewis, but couldn’t get through.
James looked at Jasper with a low pressure and said, "Send a helicopter over, find out where the cruise ship has gone."
*
Julia looked down at her phone with no signal showing.
No wonder Simon was so confident; he hadn’t taken her phone.
Simon laughed, "I’ve installed a signal jammer, Miss Land, do you want to make a call? Impossible."
Julia looked up, it seemed Simon was well-prepared this time, intent on success.
She stretched out her hand and opened the contract in front of her.
Simon chuckled, "Miss Land, it’s good that you’ve realized, keeping your life to enjoy the rest of it is much better."
Julia tapped her finger on the contract at the price section and smiled faintly, "This price isn’t quite reasonable, right? One dollar per share, you’re bullying too much."
She calmly discussed the price.
Simon raised an eyebrow, even at this moment, she was still in the mood to discuss the price; he didn’t know if this woman was greedy or foolish, "One dollar, that’s more than enough already."
The current stock price of the Moore Group was 140 yuan per share, and this guy, Simon, wanted to buy her shares for 1 yuan each.
What a daydream.
Everyone in the booth was Simon’s people, and the phone had no signal.
Julia lowered her eyes and continued to drag out the time, "I’m not satisfied with this price."
Simon had lost his patience; he scoffed, "Miss Land, it seems we don’t need to waste any more time."
A bodyguard walked toward Julia; he grabbed her wrist and shoved a pen into her palm.
He was forcing her to sign.
*
On the third floor of the auction house.
Maxwell Bell saw Chloe Lewis, intending to talk to her about the trouble Julia might be in.
After all, the event tonight was hosted by the Lewis Family, and it would not look good for them if something happened to Julia.
Chloe Sullivan suddenly stood on tiptoe, lowered her voice, and leaned closer to Maxwell, "Arthur, the earrings are already bid on, can you... accompany me to rest? I’m feeling a bit of a stomach ache."
Maxwell turned his head to see Chloe looking somewhat uncomfortable, "There’s a doctor on the cruise ship, let me take you there."
Catching sight of Chloe Lewis walking away, Chloe hooked her arm around Maxwell’s arm, embarrassingly said, "There’s no need to see a doctor, when a woman has her... monthly pain, some people’s physiques cause stomach aches."
