Chapter 197: Chapter 197: Displeasure

Chloe Sullivan’s expression darkened as she stared at the paternity test results.

Julia Land was actually the lost daughter of the Bell Family.

She bought a lighter from the convenience store because you can’t just burn things anywhere in the big city, so she asked the driver to take her to the temple.

The test results were burnt in the incense burner, conveniently for the gods of the Celestial Mountains to observe.

As long as she was around, Julia Land would have no chance to return to the Bell Family.

Now, only she knew about this matter; even Grace Land was unaware of who Julia Land’s biological parents were.

She needed to make additional plans just in case.

Right at that moment, her phone rang. Chloe looked at the caller ID and her expression softened as she answered, "Godmother... I’m free, I’ll come over now."

*

In Grace City.

Sophia Hart originally didn’t know about Julia Land’s return; she only found out after Thomas Sullivan told her yesterday.

She planned to go back to Capital City the day after tomorrow.

Regardless, she still wanted to apologize to Sister Julia.

Sophia wouldn’t have been abducted by Christopher Moore if Julia hadn’t returned to look for her.

Sophia had spent these years living with guilt.

She ate until she was seventy percent full, put down her chopsticks, grabbed her bag, and walked out of the restaurant.

Sophia had just reached the restaurant entrance.

A black sedan stopped in front of her.

The car window rolled down.

Revealing the man sitting inside.

Handsome and scholarly in appearance.

Sophia frowned, turning around to head towards the other car behind her.

"Sophia Hart," the man’s voice was gentle, "Get in the car, let’s talk."

Sophia pretended not to hear and walked towards her vehicle.

Andrew Benson’s eyes were fierce as he got out of the car. Just as Sophia was about to get into her car, he scooped her up by her waist.

Sophia’s bodyguards were blocked by Andrew’s men.

In such a public setting, Sophia was too embarrassed to struggle or curse out loud.

She was shoved into the car.

The car door closed and locked.

"Drive."

The sequence of actions performed swiftly.

The driver drove away as Sophia’s face flushed in anger, "Andrew Benson, are you crazy?"

Andrew let Sophia curse, knowing she would only keep saying he was sick.

Sophia knew cursing was useless and with a tense face, she turned her head to look outside the window.

Out of sight, out of mind.

She was wearing a knee-length skirt today and her struggle had revealed her fair thighs.

Andrew glanced at them, his eyelashes fluttering slightly, but he said nothing.

After about a minute.

Andrew lifted his eyelids to look at Sophia, "I just wanted to have a proper talk with you, if you were cooperative, I wouldn’t have had to carry you into the car."

So, it was her fault?

Sophia turned and gave him a look, finally answering him with her eyes, "What do we have to talk about?"

Issues between them were matters of ancient history.

Andrew moved closer, approaching Sophia.

"Don’t come any closer!"

He continued moving in, trapping her between the window and his arm, looking pitifully at her, "Nothing to talk about?"

In the past, she would soften as soon as he showed weakness.

Sophia frowned and huffed, there really was nothing to talk about.

Andrew’s eyes turned cold as he reached his hand to force Sophia’s head to face him, h is tone commanding, "Lavinia, I’ve explained it to you, I had no choice but to take the money and leave you back then, your parents had threatened my mother at that time."

Forced to look at the current Andrew, dressed in a white shirt and suit pants, he seemed more mature and charming compared to before, "And what now? After all these years, why have you come back looking for me?"

Andrew’s eyes were full of emotion, "Lavinia, I can protect you now, will you come back to me?"

"Impossible," replied Sophia without hesitation.

Sophia had been away from Capital City for five years, and with the help of James Thompson, she had managed to shed the label of Third Lady.

Although she was now free to marry whom she wished, she did not want to rekindle her past with Andrew.

What was missed was missed.

Andrew narrowed his eyes, pulling out a photograph from his pocket, "Is it because of this man named Thomas Sullivan? Do you like him?"

Sophia looked up, "You’ve been investigating me? Who I like is none of your business, is it?"

Andrew gazed at Sophia, caressing her hair, coaxing, "Lavinia, please don’t fight with me, okay? He’s not right for you."

He had worked hard all these years just to come back and marry his Lavinia.

He couldn’t possibly hand her over to some random man who showed up out of nowhere.

The humiliation of being threatened in the past was etched in his heart, he would find a chance to deal with her mercenary parents.

Sophia Hart rolled her eyes, "Where do you get the nerve, he’s not right for me, neither are you."

When Andrew Benson left back then, Sophia Hart cried for a long time. She found herself pathetically and shamelessly missing him every day.

She pretended to smile during the day, living her life, and pretended to smile at night while going out to have fun.

Even the most passionate feelings fade over time.

After waiting for so many years, how could Andrew Benson give up easily? He embraced her.

His crimson eyes were fixed on the window, unseen by Sophia Hart.

"Lavinia, give me another chance, I’ll prove that we are the perfect match for each other."

Caught off guard by his embrace, Sophia Hart’s eyes widened slightly.

He held her too tightly; like a little chick, she couldn’t break free from his hold.

"Let go of me!"

"I won’t."

Sophia Hart tried to pinch him, but this man, as if he had eyes below, restrained both her hands with just one hand.

The car drove up to Sophia Hart’s current residence.

Andrew Benson saw Thomas Sullivan standing downstairs.

Thomas Sullivan also saw Sophia Hart being held in someone’s arms inside the car, and he paused for a moment before striding over.

Andrew Benson’s lips slowly curled into a faint smile as he cradled the back of Sophia Hart’s head.

He kissed Sophia Hart quickly.

Seeing this, Thomas Sullivan clenched his fists, his face growing stern as he went to knock on the window, "Sophia."

**

At this time, at Moore Group.

After a busy morning, Julia Land was preparing to eat the lunchbox sent by James Thompson when she received a call from Mrs. Moore.

Mrs. Moore said, "Mrs. Dan’s mother came to see me today."

Julia Land had expected to hear Mrs. Moore’s questioning voice but instead heard her say, "Do what you think you should do, don’t worry about it."

After Mrs. Moore finished speaking, she hung up.

Julia Land looked at her phone, silent for a moment.

The Moore couple were very reasonable.

Julia Land thought of Christopher Moore and frowned slightly. She dialed the internal line, "Assistant Scott, cancel the 3 PM meeting and have the driver pick me up at 3."

Regardless, since Mrs. Moore had shown a good attitude, Julia Land decided to go and express her thanks that afternoon.

At 3 PM, Julia Land went to the Moore Estate.

The butler courteously led Julia Land to Mrs. Moore and the others.

"The master and madam are currently over at the vineyard, and the Bell couple are there too."

Julia Land said, "If it’s not convenient today, I can come another day."

The butler smiled, "Miss Land, don’t worry, the madam asked for you to come."

Julia Land nodded and followed the butler to the grape plantation.

When she arrived, she saw the Moore couple and the Bell couple picking grapes.

Chloe Sullivan was there as well.

Chloe Sullivan smiled at Julia Land as a greeting.

Seeing Julia Land come over, Mrs. Moore placed the grapes she picked into a basket and said, "Julia, take some grapes back with you to eat later, they’re sweet."

Julia Land nodded, "Okay, thank you."

Mrs. Moore knew why Julia Land was visiting.

She felt a pang of regret; Julia Land was magnanimous and clear about gratitude and grievances.

She regretted that Julia Land wasn’t truly her daughter-in-law.

Julia Land also greeted Matthew Moore and the Bell couple.

Madame Bell nodded with a light smile, then turned to continue snipping grapes.

It would be impolite for Julia Land to just say a few words and leave after coming.

She asked the butler for a pair of scissors and stood next to Mrs. Moore to help with the grape picking.

Standing next to her were Madame Bell and Chloe Sullivan.

Chloe Sullivan spoke affectionately to Madame Bell, "Godmother, should we also plant some grapes? It’s a shame I don’t know how to make wine."

"Good idea, we can plant a few, but we should ask Mrs. Moore how to do it," said Madame Bell, also picking grapes for the first time and finding it quite enjoyable. "If I had known, I’d have brought Eleanor and others today; the kids would probably enjoy it here."

Mrs. Moore said with a laugh, "You can bring them another time."

Chloe Sullivan immediately exclaimed, "If they came, I’m afraid they’d cause trouble."

Madame Bell started laughing.

Chloe Sullivan turned towards Julia Land and suddenly asked, "Mrs. Moore, I saw you at the restaurant last time holding an adorable little girl, is she your daughter?"

Julia Land paused, not looking at Chloe Sullivan, "Hmm."

Chloe Sullivan smiled, "Your daughter with Young Master Moore is very cute. Has she started kindergarten yet?"

This time, Julia Land finally turned to look at Chloe Sullivan and said with a smile, "Dale is my daughter with James Thompson."

Although she can’t publicly display affection with James Thompson in public places now, there was no need to aggrieve her daughter to the point where she couldn’t acknowledge her own father.

Chloe Sullivan was shocked, and the grapes in her hand fell to the ground.

Meanwhile, Madame Bell’s expression instantly turned displeased as she looked towards Julia Land, "Which James Thompson? From the Thompson family?"
