Chapter 193: Chapter 193 Okay

Chloe Sullivan saw James Thompson.

She glanced at the little girl beside him and quickly looked away.

Eleanor Thompson, who was already sitting on the carousel, along with William Thompson, also saw James Thompson.

Eleanor Thompson called out happily, "Daddy!"

James Thompson’s face was terrible, it was a real mess of a greeting.

He swept a cold glance at Chloe Sullivan.

Chloe Sullivan sensed James Thompson’s displeasure. She bit her red lips, wanting to explain, but James Thompson didn’t give her the chance to speak at all.

Bending down, James Thompson picked up Dale Land. "Dale, let’s go ride the little train first."

Dale Land looked reluctantly at the carousel, then nodded, "Okay."

She liked both the train and the carousel.

Seeing James Thompson walking away with another little girl in his arms, Eleanor Thompson, sitting on the carousel, started crying big, round tears.

The carousel hadn’t stopped yet, so Chloe Sullivan could only wait for it to stop to console Eleanor Thompson after picking her up.

The nanny picked up William Thompson.

The brother didn’t cry, but the sister did.

"Mama, why doesn’t Daddy want me and brother?" Eleanor Thompson was genuinely heartbroken. Everyone else had a daddy, only she and her brother didn’t.

Daddy had never held her, but he had just held someone else.

Chloe Sullivan took the crying Eleanor Thompson to a less crowded place and asked the nanny to step aside for a moment.

Once the nanny stepped away, she crouched down to explain to the twins, "Eleanor, William, from now on don’t call that man Daddy, call him Uncle Thompson."

"Why should we call him Uncle Thompson? Daddy is Daddy." Eleanor Thompson hung her head, choking with sobs.

"Eleanor, be good, or Mama will get angry," Chloe Sullivan coaxed gently.

"I won’t listen, Daddy is Daddy, I want Daddy!" Eleanor Thompson covered her ears, being very uncooperative.

Seeing her daughter so stubborn and disobedient, Chloe Sullivan was getting a bit angry too.

She sternly said, "Eleanor, Mama is really getting angry now."

She no longer paid attention to Eleanor Thompson, instead, turning to her son William, "William, remember to call him Uncle Thompson from now on."

William Thompson didn’t cry or make a fuss, just nodded, "Okay."

Seeing her mother ignoring her, the little girl ran off crying to find the nanny, "I want to go to Grandpa."

The nanny, comforting her while looking helplessly at Chloe Sullivan, said, "You take Eleanor to Uncle Thompson’s place," Chloe Sullivan blinked her moist red eyes and crouched down to ask her son, "William, do you want to go with your sister?"

"Mama, I will go with sister."

The nanny took the twins to Thompson Group.

Eleanor Thompson bore a resemblance to Lucy Thompson, and Cody Thompson was very fond of Eleanor Thompson.

Chloe Sullivan watched the car drive away, then turned to glance at the children’s amusement park sign and smiled faintly.

*

"Grandpa! Eleanor’s here."

When Cody Thompson saw the twins approaching, he took off his glasses and rubbed his temple, saying with a smile, "Oh, has our little Eleanor been crying?"

He picked up Eleanor Thompson, looking at her red, puffy eyes.

The little girl was usually quite spoiled, but also very affectionate.

Thinking of his own daughter, Cody Thompson sighed.

William Thompson called out to Grandpa and then went to sit down on the couch.

Cody Thompson was very pleased that at such a young age, William already displayed self-discipline.

"Grandpa, why can’t Eleanor call Daddy, why does she have to call him Uncle Thompson?" Eleanor Thompson asked, feeling aggrieved.

"Who said so?" Cody Thompson’s eyes sharpened as he looked at the nanny.

The nanny recounted the day’s events, "Today, Miss Sullivan took Miss Thompson and the others to the children’s amusement park where they encountered Mr. Thompson. When Mr. Thompson heard Miss Thompson call him Daddy, he got very angry. So Miss Sullivan told them to call Mr. Thompson from now on."

Cody Thompson frowned. "What was he doing at the children’s amusement park?"

The nanny respectfully replied, "Mr. Thompson brought a little girl with him, she seems to be about the same age as Miss Thompson."

"A little girl?" Cody Thompson mused inwardly about when James Thompson had become so caring.

He dialed the intercom, "Assistant Hunter, look into who was the girl James Thompson took to the children’s amusement park today."

After hanging up the phone, Cody Thompson asked the nanny to wait outside.

Once the nanny had left the office, he then looked down and comforted Eleanor Thompson, "Eleanor, you can call him whatever you want."

"Really?" Her eyes sparkled with hope.

"Really."

Cody Thompson had always believed he wasn’t wrong. After so much effort to continue the family line, and with the fetus already formed, how could he possibly let anyone terminate the pregnancy, especially since the Thompson Family didn’t have many descendants.

Hearing her grandfather’s assurance, and with tears still hanging on her cheeks, Eleanor Thompson broke into a smile, "Eleanor loves Grandpa the most."

**

At the children’s amusement park, James Thompson recorded a video of Dale Land attempting to climb onto the carousel with her little legs and shared it with Julia Land.

Julia Land sat in the car, watching her daughter flapping around hugging the carousel horse, her eyes filled with tenderness.

"Director, we’ve arrived," Assistant Scott turned his head to remind her.

"Mm." Julia Land put away her phone.

Julia Land and Assistant Scott entered the golf course.

Chloe Lewis saw Julia Land, "Mrs. Moore."

Christopher Moore had just passed away not long ago, yet this Miss Land seemed in the mood to come here.

Julia Land, "Director Lewis."

Maxwell Bell was also here; he quickly glanced at Julia Land, and although he didn’t have a good impression of her, he still greeted her politely, "Director Land."

There were a few others here to play golf today too.

Julia Land’s main purpose for coming was to see the Uncle Lee from the last banquet.

She played several rounds of golf with Director Lee, and the two discussed a cooperation proposal.

After she finished talking, Julia Land was ready to leave first.

As she passed by Maxwell Bell, she stopped and politely asked, "Director Bell, is there a chance for our Moore Family to cooperate with the Bell Clan?"

Maxwell Bell raised an eyebrow, "What kind of cooperation?"

Julia Land smiled, "The Bell Clan’s luxury goods."

Maxwell Bell slowly poured himself a drink and said in a low voice, "A collaboration is impossible, our Bell Clan’s luxury goods won’t lower their standards."

Chloe Lewis looked at Maxwell Bell in surprise; it was unusual for someone to speak so bluntly.

Although he was stating the facts.

Julia Land wasn’t upset; if the cooperation didn’t work out, then it didn’t work out—she wasn’t going to force it, "That’s too bad."

She told them she was going to leave first.

Maxwell Bell casually watched as Julia Land walked away.

She had a lot of resilience.

He set down his glass and said to Chloe Lewis, "I’ll be leaving first."

Maxwell Bell had just left the golf course when he received a call from Chloe Sullivan.

"Arthur, did I do something wrong? Today I yelled at Eleanor, waaah..."

Chloe Sullivan’s speech was intermittent, and it sounded as if she was drunk.

"Little Chloe, have you been drinking?" Maxwell Bell frowned.

"No, I haven’t."

"Where are you now?" Maxwell Bell clearly didn’t believe her.

"At home, I’m not drunk."

Maxwell Bell hummed in acknowledgment; he instructed the driver to head to Chloe Sullivan’s residence.

It was about forty minutes from the golf course to where Chloe Sullivan lived. He rang the doorbell for quite a while but no one came to open the door.

Just as Maxwell Bell took out his phone to call, the door opened.

The scent of alcohol hit him full in the face.

Chloe Sullivan, with her cheeks flushed red, looked hazy, "Who is it?"

Maxwell Bell immediately felt a headache coming on. Not knowing who it was, she still opened the door, all while being drunk.

He supported Chloe Sullivan’s hand as they walked in, "Where’s the maid?"

Chloe Sullivan currently only had two housemaids.

"What maid?" Chloe Sullivan leaned into Maxwell Bell’s embrace, thinking hard.

Don’t expect a drunk to answer questions.

Maxwell Bell took off his shoes, put on slippers, and supported Chloe Sullivan to the couch.

There were several empty bottles scattered across the couch floor.

She had drunk quite a lot.

Maxwell Bell picked up the empty bottles from the floor and put them in the trash can.

Chloe Sullivan’s gaze followed him absently, as if in a daze.

"Drinking so much in broad daylight, and alone at home too—what if something had happened?" Maxwell Bell guessed the maid wasn’t around and sat down next to Chloe Sullivan.

Drunk Chloe Sullivan couldn’t possibly answer questions, "I want to drink, where’s the alcohol?"

She tried to stand up to look for more to drink but was pulled back by Maxwell Bell.

"Don’t drink any more, too much will give you a headache."

Chloe Sullivan shook off his hand, unsuccessfully, "Let go of me, I want to drink; why is he so cruel to me and the child, I’m in pain!"

As she spoke, she covered her chest in distress.

"Jerks, all jerks."

Maxwell Bell frowned, guessing that Chloe Sullivan was talking about James Thompson.

He saw her trying to break free and reach for more alcohol, stood up, and pressed her back onto the couch, "Just sit here quietly."

Chloe Sullivan glared at him, "I want to drink. If you won’t let me, I’ll bite you."

Maxwell Bell ignored her threatening words, sitting down and planning to wait for her to sober up before leaving.

He never had the experience of dealing with a drunkard.

Unexpectedly, Chloe Sullivan said she would bite him, and she really did.

She suddenly lunged at Maxwell Bell and bit his shoulder while on the couch.

Maxwell Bell instinctively supported her waist and uttered a muffled groan.

His shoulder hurt.

"Chloe Sullivan, stop biting!"

Chloe Sullivan, being yelled at, looked up, eyes dazed, and then cried out accusingly, "You’re scolding me. Why can’t you see me? Am I less good-looking than Julia Land?"

As she said this, she started to take off her clothes.

"How am I inferior to her!"

"Tell me! In what way am I inferior to her!"
