Chapter 190: Chapter 190 Her

Chloe Sullivan walked out of the prison, a smirk curling her lips.

If Grace Land had to name someone she hated the most, that would be Julia Land.

She drove back to the now Sullivan Family residence.

When Richard Sullivan opened the door and saw Chloe, he shut it with a cold slam.

The tremor in Chloe’s fingertips was faint as she left the gifts at the doorstep, "Dad, I bought you guys gifts. They’re at the door."

Richard acted as if he heard nothing. He went into the kitchen, poured a bowl of porridge, and returned to the bedroom.

Yan Wenlin frantically patted the urine just spilled on the floor.

As Richard held the bowl of porridge, looking at his wife’s mad antics, he turned and stormed out to throw Chloe’s gift towards the elevator.

Chloe was waiting for the elevator when something hit her feet. She cried out and stepped back.

"Dad."

"Don’t call me dad."

Richard slammed the door again.

He didn’t know what Chloe had done to offend James Thompson, but the Sullivan Family’s downfall began with her.

Chloe stomped on the clothes on the ground with her high heels, entered the opening elevator doors, and seethed with anger.

She had only loved him, what was so wrong about that.

She had only schemed her way into the Thompson Family. If Julia Land was taken by Christopher Moore, it had nothing to do with her, nothing at all!

Why was he so cruel to her.

Chloe’s eyes were red with fury as she drove, when suddenly a figure caught her eye. She stopped the car and turned to look.

Not far away, Noah Quarter sat in disarray, smoking a cigarette on a chair.

Chloe continued driving, puzzled, and made a phone call, "Help me check on Noah Quarter’s recent situation."

*

Today, Noah Quarter experienced the taste of success followed by suppression.

He had barely brought improvement to the company when it suddenly faced the threat of bankruptcy.

James Thompson was really something.

That man did it on purpose.

Noah threw his unfinished cigarette on the ground with cold disdain.

His phone vibrated.

Without looking at the caller ID, he answered.

"Mr. Quarter, I’ve sent Bella back home. She has finished her homework for today."

Noah’s voice carried the weight of exhaustion as he muttered thanks, "Thank you."

Emily Yeat rubbed her slightly red ear, "No problem, you can treat me to a meal when you’re free."

After that, she quickly hung up.

Noah Quarter stared at the terminated call, deep in thought.

Emily was from the Yeat Family, whose main business was in selling tea.

Bella’s Chinese teacher happened to be Emily, and through a few encounters, Noah felt that Emily seemed to hold some affection for him.

He tugged a corner of his mouth into a cold, dismissive smile, thinking his appearance still served some purpose.

**

At night.

After James Thompson had put Dale Land to sleep, he stealthily left the room.

Julia Land, standing with a bottle of wine against the wall, found the scene amusing as she watched him sneak out.

James quietly closed the door, looked over, and cast his eyes downwards at Julia.

His fingers lifted, grazing her red lips.

"Did you sneak a drink?"

Julia licked her lips, coincidentally touching his hand, "Just a sip."

They headed to the living room.

Tonight they could finally talk.

James poured a glass of wine for Julia with a smile on his lips, giving her a profound look coupled with a warning, "Only one glass."

Julia nodded, with the child at home, she didn’t wish to get drunk.

"Where’s Sophia?"

"She’s still in Grace City."

"What’s the deal with the twins and Chloe?"

At the mention of this topic, Julia’s fingers pinched his chin and took a bite.

Mr. Thompson, she’s his.

James blocked her escape routes, pressing his lips to hers. After they parted, he explained coldly, "The twins are my sister’s with Madeline. I have no idea why Ann would freeze her eggs."

He actually felt he had failed as a brother.

Julia frowned, "That’s outrageous."

James brought up Cody Thompson, "Elder Thompson is very stubborn. He used to dote on Ann, and once he heard about her having offspring, despite his confusion, he chose to have Chloe give birth to them."

He no longer called Cody Thompson father; the father and son had been estranged for five years.

He toyed with Julia’s hand, "If you run into Elder Thompson in the future, feel free not to pay him any mind."

Julia finally understood why everyone thought James was the twins’ father.

The Thompson Family couldn’t reveal the true parentage of the twins, and coincidentally, James had disappeared at the time, while Elder Thompson had announced to the outside world that Chloe, pregnant with twins, was James’ woman.

"I’ve been looking for you all these years," James Thompson pulled Julia into his embrace.

"On an isolated island, I’ve studied in seclusion for five years, waking up daily to exercise, learn foreign languages, negotiation, management, and various skills."

Julia Land learned a lot in these five years.

However, it was actually not safe on the island, but those events had passed, and she didn’t really want to mention them.

Christopher Moore had arranged male teachers for her.

And on the island, she was the only girl.

This situation was dangerous for her.

Christopher Moore taught her to be intimidating.

Julia Land took a sip of alcohol and curved her lips, "Christopher’s original plan was for me to come back and take down the Thompson Group, and kill you too. He wanted to watch us slaughter each other."

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get to see that.

James Thompson looked down and kissed the back of her neck, "We’ll go take wedding photos the day after tomorrow."

He had indeed been stimulated by the wedding photos shown at the Moore Family’s banquet recently.

Julia Land chuckled, Mr. Quarter was jealous.

She took a sip of the alcohol, raised her hand, and pulled him down, her red lips meeting his.

They shared the taste of the wine in their mouths.

Her voice husky, she said, "Alright, then let’s go take the wedding photos the day after tomorrow."

He took the wine glass from her hand and kissed her while reaching into his pocket to take out a small box. When the box opened, he moved away from her lips.

He lifted her left hand and directly placed something on it.

James Thompson didn’t want to fuss with romantic gestures right now; he just wanted to secure the catch.

He quickly slipped the ring onto her left ring finger.

Mr. Quarter silently extended his own left hand, indicating for Julia Land to put on his ring.

Julia Land, still catching her breath, "..."

"Put it on the ring finger," he said, watching her intently.

Julia Land wanted to laugh but held it back, solemnly putting the ring on for him.

James Thompson’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly.

"Should we move on to the bridal chamber next?" Julia Land asked with a straight face.

Her hands roamed over him, not quite behaving.

A vein throbbed on James Thompson’s forehead.

Mindful of their little one at home, they went to the bedroom decorously.

Once they were in the bedroom, they let themselves go completely, getting sticky and sweet.

Waking up the next day.

Julia Land had plans to visit the Moore Group today.

She had a charitable project in mind, requiring a steady flow of funds.

From now on, the income she earned from the Moore side was going to go towards the charity project.

Julia Land got out of bed, coughed lightly, her voice, indeed hoarse, as if she had a cold.

Really, it was because she and James Thompson had been fooling around too much last night.

She picked up her phone to see a message from James Thompson.

He had taken Dale Land out for exercise in the morning, there was breakfast on the dining table, and he’d also left a message to let her know that Assistant Scott could continue to stay.

Julia Land arched an eyebrow, not initially keen on keeping Assistant Scott since he was Christopher’s man, but if Mr. Quarter said it was fine, then there was no problem.

After breakfast, she went to the company.

She wondered if James Thompson would bring the kid along?

At this very moment.

The James Thompson in Julia Land’s thoughts was standing on the park path with Dale Land, his daughter.

Dale Land stood with her chubby arms crossed, glaring at a wallet on the ground.

James Thompson squatted down, seizing the moment to teach his four-year-old, "Dale, we can’t just pick up a wallet we see."

"Daddy, why can’t we?" Dale Land asked, tilting her head.

"Its owner will be worried," James Thompson explained gently, "If Dale’s little rubber duckie went missing and someone else picked it up, would Dale be sad?"

No sooner had this comparison left his lips than Dale Land’s mouth turned down, and tears began to fall.

"Daddy, Dale’s ducky mommy is gone, someone picked her up."

"The ducky mommy is at home, we fed her this morning before we left," James Thompson quickly clarified.

"No, the ones at home are the baby duckies, the ducky mommy is gone."

"!"

Having unwittingly stirred up a hornet’s nest with his ill-chosen analogy, James Thompson cleared his throat.

He picked up his daughter, confidently stepping over the wallet that started it all.

This time, his educational approach had failed.

"Daddy will take you to slide down the slides."

There were play facilities for children in the park.

Dale Land, tears still in her eyes, softly called out as she hugged his neck, "Am I very heavy? Daddy, I can walk on my own."

This father’s heart warmed tremendously, his daughter was so sweet. He smiled, "Not heavy at all; Daddy can even lift Mommy who’s much heavier."

"Wow! Daddy’s so strong."

Admiration from his little girl.
