Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Photographs

"Moore Group announced this morning that the new chairman is Julia Land."

Jasper Winters turned the tablet towards James Thompson.

"Tomorrow night, the Moore Family will host a banquet at Spey Hotel, and here is the Moore Family’s invitation."

"Put down the invitation and leave for now."

James Thompson controlled his fierce emotions; his anger was towards himself, not towards Julia Land.

Christopher Moore!

He tugged at the corner of his mouth, sneering faintly.

The Bell Family also received an invitation. Generally, the Bell Family does not attend banquets, but the organizers always courteously send them an invitation.

Madame Bell was actually very curious about the Moore Family’s daughter-in-law; she knew about Christopher Moore’s affair with Lucy Thompson.

She didn’t expect so many years to have passed.

Christopher Moore had finally let go of Lucy Thompson and taken a wife.

Although curious about Julia Land, she did not want to attend the banquet.

Chloe Sullivan was sitting next to Madame Bell; she too saw the invitation from the Moore Family.

About the news regarding Moore Group.

She had seen it that morning too.

Not sure whether to laugh or be jealous.

The laughable part was that James Thompson had been searching for Julia Land for so many years, only to find out she had married his archenemy.

The jealous part was that Julia Land had suddenly become the chairman of Moore Group.

That woman really was lucky.

"Godmother, are you going to the Moore Family’s banquet tomorrow night?" Chloe Sullivan stopped flipping through the photo album and turned her head to ask, "If you are going, could you take me with you?"

"Do you want to go?"

"Yes, I... I know Julia Land, the Moore Family’s daughter-in-law, and I want to go see her."

"I see, if you want to go, then we’ll go tomorrow night."

"You’re so kind, godmother."

Chloe Sullivan smiled briefly and continued browsing the photo album.

This old photo album was brought from her maternal home to the Bell Family by Madame Bell when she got married.

Most of the photos in the album are of Madame Bell from her childhood to adulthood.

"Godmother, you really have been beautiful from a young age."

As Chloe Sullivan flipped through the album, she commented until she suddenly stopped upon seeing a photo.

It was an old black-and-white photo, looking very aged, depicting a woman in military attire, importantly, the woman in the photo bore a striking resemblance to Julia Land by about sixty to seventy percent.

This was not a photo of Madame Bell.

She checked the timestamp on the photo, guessing it was likely from her great-grandmother’s era.

Chloe Sullivan did not dare to ask Madame Bell about who was in the photo.

Madame Bell’s daughter had disappeared at the age of two, it couldn’t be...

Chloe Sullivan rejected the thought, absolutely unable to believe it.

As if it didn’t matter, she continued flipping through the photos, then said, "Godmother, can I take this album home to look at more carefully tonight?"

"Sure, I didn’t realize you were interested in old photos."

"I study painting, and sometimes I like things with a historical feel, they can increase inspiration."

Moore Group.

A new chairman was suddenly appointed, causing shareholders to call one after another inquiring about the situation.

The position of chairman was supposed to be held by someone experienced.

Who was Julia Land?

Unsatisfied with the answers they received over the phone, the shareholders came to the group with anger.

"Arrange for them to go to the conference room."

Julia Land instructed Assistant Scott.

She had originally planned to call the shareholders for a meeting in a few days, but since they had come hurriedly today, she decided to hold the meeting earlier.

Julia Land went to the conference room.

The meeting lasted for over two hours.

The shareholders, who initially questioned Julia Land, gradually quieted down.

When the meeting room door opened again.

Julia Land personally escorted the shareholders to their cars, watching as they got in.

Assistant Scott stood behind Julia Land, watching her; she had just single-handedly debated with the shareholders impressively.

When Julia Land returned to her office.

She leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes to rest.

Assistant Scott brought a tablet over, flipping through an email containing documents, "Madam Chairman, there’s an urgent acquisition plan here."

Julia Land opened her eyes, "Hmm, leave it on the desk."

It was her first day in office, and there was much to handle, so she had to prioritize the urgent matters first.

When she returned to Moore Estate, it was already two o’clock in the middle of the night.

"Julia, you’re back. Are you hungry?" Mrs. Moore was rubbing the corners of her eyes; she had been waiting in the living room for Julia Land to get off work.

After all, today was Julia Land’s first day in office, and Mrs. Moore was waiting here out of concern to provide Julia Land a sense of security.

Julia Land smiled, "Aunt Moore, I’ve eaten, it’s so late—go to sleep quickly."

"Yes, I am quite sleepy; you should rest early too."

Mrs. Moore yawned, looking very tired.

Julia Land returned to her bedroom, checked her phone, saw a trivial message from Christopher Moore, and chose not to reply.

She used her phone calendar to note down the time until her video chat with Dale Land, then went to take a shower.

On the other side,

The lights were still on at the villa where Chloe Sullivan lived.

She had taken out the photo of the woman in military attire from the album, the more she looked at it, the more it resembled Julia Land.

She pinched the photo between her fingers and placed it into water.

The photo quickly soaked through.

The woman’s face gradually blurred.
