Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 171 Hundred Days Feast 3
Chapter 171: Chapter 171 Hundred Days Feast 3
Noah Quarter stared at Julia Land’s indifferent eyes before stepping aside.
Julia Land opened the bathroom door.
Paused for a moment.
Outside stood Chloe Sullivan and several other women.
Their gazes fell on Julia Land and Noah Quarter, loaded with implications.
A man and a woman talking in the bathroom easily sparked wild speculation.
Julia Land hesitated, then calmly walked past them, and Noah Quarter also left shortly after.
"Chloe Sullivan, that man just now was the second lady’s grandson, Noah Quarter, right? Who’s that woman with him?"
Before Chloe could reply, another woman spoke up, "I know who she is. I just heard about it from Eliza Quarter not long ago. She’s his ex-wife."
There’s nothing gossip-worthy about an ex-wife meeting her ex-husband.
They instantly lost interest in prying further.
However, the woman hadn’t finished speaking; she continued, "She’s now a mistress."
Chloe Sullivan didn’t want everyone to know about Julia Land’s relationship with James Thompson, as it would be embarrassing for her, so she interjected, "Let’s do me a favor and not talk about such topics. After all, she is a guest of the Thompson Family."
The woman in the know was named Celeste Lewis, and she was Chloe Lewis’s cousin.
Celeste Lewis actually looked down on Chloe Sullivan from Dunmore City, thinking she was just a schemer who secured her place in the Thompson Family by having a child.
Only her cousin Chloe Lewis was foolish enough to buy her an emerald necklace worth over a hundred million.
Celeste coveted that necklace.
But Celeste also gained a bit more respect for Chloe for speaking out for a mistress just now.
That’s what you call magnanimity.
Maybe Chloe Sullivan wasn’t the opportunist Celeste thought she was, marrying into the Thompson Family just because of a child. Maybe their love was real.

Julia Land walked back to Sophia Hart in her billowing dress.
Sophia Hart handed Julia Land a piece of cake and rolled her eyes, "Look over there, what on earth is Brother Thompson trying to do today?"
Julia Land followed Sophia’s pointing finger and saw the man, each hand holding one of the twins.
She watched with a faint smile in her eyes.
This play today was bound to be entertaining.
Julia Land showed a look of disbelief as appropriate.
Acting—everyone can do it.
Her eyes blinked sorrowfully.
The man turned his head and saw Julia Land, catching her staring intensely at him with a saddened expression.
He gave her a gentle smile and handed the twins over to the nanny.
He walked towards Julia Land.
Chloe Sullivan left the bathroom and, laughing with the girls, walked towards the banquet hall.
Celeste Lewis saw James Thompson coming over and said teasingly, "Chloe, you barely step out of the restroom, and your man can’t wait to come pick you up."
Chloe’s face blushed, but inside, she scoffed, noticing that James Thompson was actually walking towards Julia Land.
She walked past Julia Land in her high heels with graceful steps, blocking James Thompson’s path toward her.
She said with a smile, "Brother Thompson, were you looking for me? Is it time to start? Let’s go."
As soon as she finished speaking, the master of ceremonies took the stage.
The man’s gaze toward Julia Land carried a depth that she couldn’t quite decipher.
*
On stage.
James Thompson and Chloe Sullivan each held a baby, with Cody Thompson and the second lady also standing on stage.
Under the spotlight, the family on stage gave off the illusion of bliss and perfection.
Julia Land, standing in the crowd, narrowed her eyes at the family on stage.
If it weren’t for the fact that she knew the man standing up there wasn’t the real James Thompson, she would probably feel lost and embarrassed.
To this point, the man hadn’t produced the results of a paternity test to prove the twins weren’t his.
What in the world was he trying to do?
Cody Thompson spoke, "Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to join my grandchildren’s hundred-day celebration."
His tone was unusually warm, "I hereby announce that I’ll gift ten percent of Thompson Family shares to the twins."
His words had barely finished.
Surprise filled the expressions of the distinguished guests below.
Born with shares in the Thompson Family—these twins were truly favored.
They all looked towards the twins’ birth mother, Chloe Sullivan. She indeed was the envy of many.
Chloe, surprised, looked at Cody Thompson. She really had no idea about the gift of shares.
She was extremely happy inside.
She looked down at the crowd and saw Julia Land standing among them.
Chloe smiled serenely.
While Julia stood there, rooted to the spot.
Her mind was in turmoil.
Could it be that the twins were truly James Thompson’s?
He even gave away shares.
Julia subconsciously touched her belly as she looked up at the man on the stage who wore James Thompson’s handsome face.
Sophia Hart incredulously supported Julia’s arm, turning to her, "Julia, are you okay?"
Julia found it a bit difficult to smile at that moment.
Eliza Quarter, having approached Julia unbeknownst to her, lowered her voice and said with a mocking smile, "Miss Land, I reminded you in the hospital that day, hoping you would respect yourself more and not have an illegitimate child to disrupt everyone’s life."
Julia replied with a hoarse voice, "Thank you for the reminder. The child can also take my surname when born."
Eliza chuckled dismissively, "You’re so naive. Do you think the Thompson Family would let you take the child away?"
Julia listened indifferently to Eliza’s mockery.
Not wanting to continue standing below and watching the family on stage, she found an excuse, "Sophia, I’m going to make a phone call."
Julia just wanted to find a quiet place to sort out her thoughts for a moment.
As she turned to leave, Cody Thompson made another announcement from the stage, "My son, James Thompson, and the Sullivan Family’s precious daughter, Chloe Sullivan, are a match made in heaven. I hereby announce their upcoming wedding joyfully..."
The man stood on the stage, his eyes following the lonely figure of Julia as she walked away.
There was a hint of unease, but it was negligible.
*
Julia didn’t leave the banquet; she just intended to find a quiet place to straighten out her next steps.
She didn’t expect to run into someone around the corner.
"Ah! What’s the matter with you? My dress is all wet," Celeste Lewis said, holding a wine glass that had spilled its contents onto her.
Her traditional yet modern pink dress was unmistakably ruined. She glared at Julia with displeasure, "So unlucky. Watch where you’re going."
Julia, too, had instinctively protected the child in her belly. She raised an eyebrow, "Miss, we’re both at fault here, aren’t we?"
"You really are something. Do you know how much this dress costs?" Celeste scorned Julia, "You, a mistress, couldn’t afford it even if you sold yourself for a lifetime."
Julia was astounded, then slowly curled her lips into a smile, "Do you know how much I’m worth? You couldn’t afford it with a lifetime of...selling yourself."
Celeste almost laughed with anger. Who gave Julia the courage?
After Julia had retorted, she was about to leave when she heard talk of compensation.
Celeste snorted coldly, "I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but since you insist, let’s talk about compensation."
By chance, she saw Blake Lincoln approaching with some men and women from their circle. She called out, "Blake, your woman bumped into me."
Blake, suddenly mentioned by name, was taken aback.
As he saw the woman in front of Celeste, he walked over with bright eyes, "What happened?"
Celeste rolled her eyes at Blake, "Why bring a mistress who’s not fit to be seen to the Thompson Family’s hundred days celebration? She ran into me. Look, my dress is ruined. Are you going to compensate on her behalf?"
"He’s your new fling? Why’d you bring her here? If your father finds out, watch out, he might beat you," Blake’s buddy said, slapping his shoulder and audaciously sizing up Julia.
This woman was very seductive in both looks and figure.
A woman who seemed coquettish, yet her eyes were cold.
Julia took a deep breath, her heart crossed by a slow procession of alpacas, "I have my own boyfriend. Please don’t throw the title of mistress at me carelessly, okay?"
Eliza Quarter, that troublemaker!
She coldly looked at Celeste, "If you want compensation, fine, we’ll see each other in court. Whatever the judge decides, I’m ready to comply."
Blake walked over to Julia with a smile, apologizing to Celeste, "I’m sorry, my woman is quite the character. I’ll compensate for the dress."
Self-styled hero saves the day.
Celeste gave Julia a disdainful look, "What sort of woman did you find? She has no shame, talking about seeing each other in court, ready at any time? You think I’m scared?"
"You all..." Julia almost wanted to laugh. She blinked and said in wonder, "Are you sick? And you, sir, don’t just claim someone as your girlfriend. You might need to visit a psychiatric hospital. I guess you might be suffering from a mental disorder."
Blake, who was just accused of being mentally ill, darkened in expression. He reached out to grab Julia’s arm.
Julia stepped back, only to have her dress stepped on by Blake.
Her eyes instantly widened.
"Be careful."
"Be careful."
Two voices sounded at once.
