Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 163: Scumbag
Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Scumbag
Julia Land suddenly felt the urge to learn paper folding from short videos.
There was no suitable paper at home.
She walked to the balcony.
A man was hanging clothes on the balcony.
He was holding lingerie, unfazed, as he hung it on the rack.
Julia arrived just as he was hanging the lingerie.
He turned his head to look at Julia, raising his eyebrows slightly.
Julia didn’t speak; she waited for him to finish hanging the clothes before they both returned to the living room.
James Thompson first poured himself a glass of water without initiating any conversation.
It was clear from her demeanor that she needed something.
After a while, as he drank half his glass of water, the woman beside him finally spoke up, "Mr. Thompson, go to the stationery store and buy me various colored papers, roughly this size."
Julia turned her phone toward him to show the screen, "Just buy the paper sizes shown in this video."
James acknowledged with a grunt but didn’t move.
He had gone out just an hour before doing laundry to buy her flowers.
She had said she wanted to do flower arranging.
Now after hanging clothes, she said she wanted to fold paper.
Women really could be demanding.
The man sat on the couch unmoving, and Julia frowned, "I’ll go buy them myself; I’m just asking you to help a little, and you’re so reluctant."
She turned around to change her clothes.
James raised his hand, his voice lazy, "If you’re that bored, how about we play cards, and I’ll help you buy the paper tomorrow?"
Julia thought for a moment, "Fine, go get the cards."
Killing time was fine, anything would do.
After playing cards for half an hour.
Julia put down her cards, disgruntled, "Your card playing skills are terrible, I win every round. It’s so boring."
"I thought you liked winning. Aren’t you happy winning?" the man mumbled, his face covered with sticky notes where he lost.
He had intentionally let her win and was still complained about.
The man smiled, "Another round, this time I won’t let you win."
Julia thought he was merely talking big, not knowing he had intentionally let her win before.
So, energized, she came up with a new penalty, "Loser gets a turtle drawn on their face."
"That’s fine, as long as you don’t regret it,"
They started shuffling and drawing cards again.
Twenty minutes later, Julia’s face had acquired three turtles.
"...."
The man, holding a pen, chuckled and provocatively lifted Julia’s chin with the pen cap, his voice teasing, "Beauty, want to continue?"
There was amusement in his eyes.
Feeling challenged, Julia was on the verge of conceding but wanted to continue, just then her phone resting by her leg rang.
It was Thomas Sullivan calling.
Typically, Julia wouldn’t want to deal with anyone from the Sullivan Family,
but pondering for a moment, she answered Thomas Sullivan’s call.
Because of Chloe Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan felt uncomfortable asking Julia for help, but he called out of desperation as he couldn’t reach Sophia Hart.
After Julia picked up the phone,
She didn’t speak.
Thomas Sullivan coughed softly, "Julia, it’s me, Thomas Sullivan."
Julia really wanted to roll her eyes; she obviously knew it was him. She asked indifferently, "Need something?"
"Can you help me get in touch with Sophia? I want to talk to her," Thomas Sullivan spoke directly, his voice hoarse, "Thanks."
"No, I won’t help you," Julia flatly refused, her tone indifferent, "Thomas, Chloe is still at the Thompson’s. Even if you manage to contact Sophia, what can you do? Do you think the Thompsons, or your cousin, if they sense something, Sophia would be fine?"
Thomas Sullivan was instantly speechless, and after a moment of silence, he rubbed his forehead, "I’m sorry."
Chloe moving into the Thompson’s meant his chances with Sophia Hart were slim.
Julia frowned and hung up the phone.
Seeing Julia’s displeased expression, as the unborn baby’s father, James suggested, "Shall we go out for a walk?"
Her recovery was going well, and the fetus was healthy; it was alright for her to get some fresh air.
As long as it wasn’t too much walking.
Julia glanced at the time; it was three in the afternoon, "Where shall we go?"
James tidied away the cards, stashing them in a drawer, "Go change, and you’ll see when we get there."
He didn’t actually know where to go; he had just spoken on a whim and would look it up online in a moment.
"Okay, I’ll go change."
Julia changed clothes quickly, choosing a loose dress, applying moisturizer to her face, tying her hair in a small bunch, and grabbing a light jacket before heading out.
The man was already waiting by the door.
Julia took a pair of sports shoes from the shoe cabinet and put them on. Before she could tie the laces, the man crouched down faster.
Julia watched as he tied her shoelaces, breaking the warm atmosphere, "You can tie a bow; the way you tie shoelaces isn’t good-looking."
The man paused, then undid and retied the laces into a bow.
After tying the laces, he didn’t immediately stand up; suddenly, he gripped her ankle.
The heat from his palm warmed her ankle.
Julia lightly kicked her foot, "What are you doing?"
"What if one day, the baby suddenly disappears? What would you do?"
The man lowered his gaze, letting go of her ankle, and asked thoughtfully.
Julia was dumbfounded.
Was he cursing her child?
"Ouch!" The man’s face twisted instantly, "Let go, I was wrong!"
"Hmm." Julia twisted the muscles on his arm 180 degrees, with considerable force.
Unapologetically.
As she twisted, she scolded him, "Your words are too ominous. The child won’t disappear."
"Yes, yes, it won’t disappear. I watched a movie yesterday where a child was taken away, and his mother kept searching for him. I just got carried away asking you,"
The man hurriedly admitted his mistake and explained.
His arm was definitely bruising.
Julia let go of his arm, her mood hadn’t even relaxed before leaving the house, and this idiot had infuriated her.
If her child were taken away, she would go insane.
"James, I don’t like such assumptions," Julia spoke very seriously to the man, "Although the child isn’t born yet, I love it."
The man lowered his gaze, his eyes slightly dim.
But he was indeed planning to take their child away.

Scott Kingdom.
"BOSS, your current physical condition isn’t suitable for flying back to the country," Jasper Winters clearly disagreed, "The doctor said you need at least a year of rest."
"Get ready, I’m not reassured."
His life was hanging by a thread anyway.
His current plan couldn’t guarantee complete safety, and Christopher Moore was known for his unpredictable actions.
Jasper Winters knew BOSS was worried about Julia and couldn’t persuade James otherwise, so he resignedly started to arrange the trip back to the country.
Their return had to be very secretive; otherwise, if Christopher Moore found out, their previous plans would be completely thwarted.
