Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Very Bad

"Julia, this water was originally cold, now it’s warm, and soon it will be scalding hot, then the egg’s yolk will be cooked. James Thompson’s heart has long been warmed through by Julia Land."

"From liking to loving."

When Julia Land awoke, her eyes brimmed with tears, unaware to herself.

She touched her ear, recalling the words James Thompson had whispered to her.

Julia pulled the blanket up, hiding under it as she secretly wept.

In just a month, she had come to realize that the man now sleeping in the room next door was not her Mr. Thompson.

What an annoying mess.

At this moment, in the room next door.

The man watched the woman hiding under the blanket, tapping the case of his phone lightly, pondering.

Strange, why had this woman become suspicious again? Clearly, before the hypnosis, she had been mentally tormented by the organ tissue department, then returned to Dunmore City to be led to believe that she suffered from delusional paranoia.

Under such mental stress, she shouldn’t have recovered so easily after the hypnosis.

The man called Jason, "Jason, come to Dunmore City again tomorrow."

After he hung up, he left the bedroom and headed to Julia’s room.

The bedroom door clicked open.

Julia was startled, she quickly drew back the blanket and saw a man in a black robe entering.

He held a book in his hand.

"Julia, having a nightmare again?" He approached the bed, glanced down at her for a short while, then sat on the bed, leaning against the headboard, "Continue sleeping, I’ll just sit here with you."

"No need, you should go to sleep too," Julia Land yawned, pretending to be very sleepy, "You should sleep now."

"I’ll just sit here with you," the man’s eyes darkened, "or shall I hold you while you sleep? Hmm?"

"No need, it’s too hot."

Julia shut her eyes, not saying anything further.

She turned on her side, facing away from the man.

Perhaps Julia had trained herself to self-soothe, because soon after closing her eyes, she fell asleep again.

No matter what, life goes on with its daily routines.

The man leaned against the headboard, gently turning the pages of a parenting book.

To raise a child with a high IQ ready for a life of crime, one first had to equip the child with all sorts of knowledge.

Cultivate them in all aspects.

She seemed to be asleep.

She lay with her back to him, her fair neck so pale and delicate; it seemed fragile.

The man put down his book and took out a box of medicine from the pocket of his robe, popping a pill into his mouth.

He needed to take his medicine, or he could go mad.

A water bottle was always by the bed now; Julia occasionally took a sip before sleeping.

He took the bottle, unscrewed the cap, and drank some water to swallow the pill.

The next morning when Julia got up, she felt a soreness in her eyes.

She walked out of her bedroom.

The living room was quiet.

Usually, the man would be there, but not today.

Sister Fang had already prepared breakfast.

"Miss Land, do you have any special requests for lunch? I’ll go buy groceries soon."

"You decide."

"Alright."

Julia had breakfast without asking where the man had gone.

But just after she finished, he returned, holding a bag with a lively, wriggling fish inside.

"Hmm? You got up half an hour earlier today?" The man looked up at the wall clock, sounding surprised.

Julia was the type who would procrastinate in the morning as long as possible; if it weren’t for considering the children, she wouldn’t even bother getting up for breakfast.

Julia gave a faint ’oh,’ wiping her lips without saying another word.

The man seemed unconcerned by her indifferent demeanor, showing Julia the fish, "This fish, I caught it, let Sister Fang cook it for your dinner."

He had gone fishing early in the morning.

Julia Land was speechless; the fish she bought at random was bigger than the one he caught.

He handed the fish over to Sister Fang, who took it to the kitchen and put it in a basin of water.

The man glanced at Julia Land, then went to take a shower.

By the time he came out from the shower, he saw Julia Land searching for something. "Little Pear, what are you looking for?"

"My eyedrops, strange, I remembered they were placed here. How come I can’t find them anymore? Very odd."

"They’re in the room, I’ll go get them for you." The man raised an eyebrow and immediately walked into the bedroom.

Julia Land paused, her gaze swept over the man’s retreating figure, she blinked, how did he know where things were?

As if he knew everything about the house down to the last detail?

Sister Fang had finished cleaning the kitchen and came out. "Miss Land, I will head back now and come directly here after buying groceries at noon."

"Okay, be safe on the road."

At that moment, the man came out of the bedroom, holding a bottle of eyedrops. "The eyedrops have expired. I’ll go buy a new bottle for you. Do you need anything else?"

Julia Land thought for a bit, then shook her head, "No, that’s all, thank you."

Just then, the man added, "By the way, Jason will come tomorrow to give you psychological therapy."

He finished speaking and then walked back into the bedroom.

Julia Land frowned, therapy my ass, she walked into the bedroom with a cold expression.

The man had already taken off his clothes and pants, broad shoulders and long legs, he was reaching into the wardrobe to grab some trousers.

Julia Land just walked in and was immediately stunned.

"Why don’t you close the door when you change?"

The man turned his head to look at her, raised an eyebrow, slowly pulled on his pants, and said in a drawling voice, "It’s not like you’ve never seen it before, why are you glaring so hard?"

Julia Land turned and left in a huff, she had never seen it before, did he really think he was James Thompson?

She waited for him to get dressed before coming out, she had wanted to say that she didn’t want to see the psychologist.

But in an instant, the desire to speak was gone; it seemed like it wouldn’t make a difference whether she said it or not.

Before the man left the house, he tousled her hair, "I’ll bring you back a burger and fries, we won’t bother Sister Fang to prepare lunch, eating something unhealthy once in a while is not a big deal."

Julia Land didn’t respond to him, she counted her days, she would nourish herself for one more month then find an opportunity to run away.

Scott Kingdom.

The afternoon sun shone into the room.

The man lying in bed had a chiseled profile, yet his face had redness from treatment, his skin was in the process of healing.

Jasper Winters entered the room with light footsteps.

"BOSS, I’ve already got Jason to agree with Christopher Moore."

Actually, the ultimate goal of hypnotizing Julia Land was to treat her mental state.

The man lying on the bed opened his black eyes.

His voice was extremely hoarse, "Proceed as planned, let Christopher Moore’s influence infiltrate."

"Yes," Jasper Winters reported the situation from the Thompson Family as well, "The Thompson Family has sent out invitations, the twins’ hundred-day celebration will invite people from all circles."

"Our people got the news that the old man will announce the gift of Thompson Group shares to the twins that day."

James Thompson chuckled in disbelief, "Could it be that the twins are actually some bastards of the old man?"

And now he was even giving them shares.

Jasper Winters’ mouth twitched slightly, they all knew that was impossible.

The old man couldn’t possibly have children anymore due to his health condition, otherwise, the second Mrs. Thompson would have been pregnant long ago.

"We have retrieved the engagement ring from Bee," Jasper Winters held a box in his hand.

"Hmm," James Thompson thought of the ring that Chloe Sullivan had worn, his face showing disgust, "Moore going to Capital City will be a hassle, we just need to protect Little Pear."

He was already tired from speaking a few words.

How long his life would last, he wasn’t sure.

He closed his eyes to rest.

He was still holding a photograph in his hand.

Jasper Winters’ gaze fell on that photo and he pursed his lips; it was a photo of Julia Land with a smiling face.

The boss’s health was in very bad shape.
