Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 147 Extra Ribs
Chapter 147: Chapter 147 Extra Ribs
Actually, Chloe Sullivan hadn’t initially thought about telling Cody Thompson about Julia Land’s pregnancy.
But she believed that speaking up had many more advantages than remaining silent.
Cody Thompson looked at Chloe, smiling in an approachable manner, like a family elder who was easy to discuss matters with, "Little Chloe, what are your thoughts?"
The Thompson Family didn’t have many descendants, so naturally, he wouldn’t let James Thompson’s child be left out in the cold.
Hearing Cody Thompson asking her, Chloe was startled for a moment and hesitantly said, "I don’t know."
"Since that’s the case, let’s wait for James to come back and let him make the decision himself. As for Miss Land’s pregnancy, let’s pretend we don’t know," Cody Thompson picked up the milk, it was high-calcium milk for middle-aged people, "It’s late, you should also go back to rest."
"Okay, Uncle Thompson, you should rest early too."
Chloe left the study, closing the door behind her with a faint smile on her lips.
Of course, she knew Cody Thompson wouldn’t do anything about Julia Land’s pregnancy now.

Julia Land finally managed to fall asleep at the hotel last night.
Today, she woke up feeling clear-headed.
She planned to stay at the hotel again tonight and then try going back to live at the Sincere Heart Community Building tomorrow.
First, she needed to go home to get some clothes to change into.
Julia lay in bed and picked up her phone, realizing just now that Noah Quarter had messaged her last night.
She hadn’t replied.
Julia got up to wash up, ordered breakfast from the hotel, finished her meal, put on a mask, and hailed a taxi home.
The driver was a nice-looking lady.
Julia sat in the passenger seat and, while she turned to look out the window, her gaze coincidentally fell on the rearview mirror.
There was a black sedan behind them.
She took notice of the black sedan.
The taxi had departed from the Wendell Hotel.
Around ten minutes had passed.
And the black sedan had been following them the whole time.
Julia’s heart thumped wildly, and she said to the driver, "Sister, can we go to the Global Plaza first?"
The driver responded, "Alright."
Julia continued to watch the sedan behind them, and when the driver took a left at the intersection ahead, the black sedan followed.
"Sister, there’s a black sedan following us, can you find a way to lose it?"
The driver was surprised for a moment and gave Julia a quick glance, "Are you a celebrity?"
"No."
Intrigued, the driver peeked through the rearview mirror at the black sedan.
It didn’t seem to be tracking them.
The driver, growing nervous herself, took another road, as Dunmore City’s roads were extensive and interconnected.
As she detoured,
So did the black sedan.
The driver mumbled, "Girl, have you gotten into some trouble? Do you want to get off at the next intersection?"
Julia felt helpless and didn’t insist, "Thank you."
"Forget about it; I’ll take you to Global Plaza." The driver continued forward, but soon after, the black sedan turned the corner and went somewhere else.
It didn’t continue following them.
"Girl, you’re overthinking it; they weren’t following us."
The driver breathed a sigh of relief as she didn’t want to encounter any bizarre situations.
Julia stared at the rearview mirror, the black sedan that had been following them was no longer there.
Was it again her paranoid delusions acting up?
For a moment, Julia doubted herself.
"Sister, sorry, please go to 3 Faith Road."
Half an hour later.
The taxi arrived at Faith Road, Julia paid and got out of the car.
The driver turned to watch as Julia entered her house, a mysterious smile on her face.
*
Julia Land arrived home and planned to cook herself lunch before returning to the hotel.
She walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge to grab some ribs, but stopped short.
She looked at the ribs in the fridge, puzzled.
She remembered she seemed to have bought only one packet of ribs.
But now there were two packets in the fridge.
Why was there an extra packet?
Julia shivered as if she had fallen into an ice cave.
She struggled to recall her trip to the supermarket, and yes, she had indeed bought only one packet of ribs.
Julia’s heart pounding, she closed the refrigerator door and turned around, walking out of the kitchen.
She hurriedly searched for the receipt printed at the check-out during her last visit to the supermarket.
"It’s not here. Did I lose it?"
Julia was now gripped by fear.
It didn’t matter anymore whether she found the receipt.
She rushed into her bedroom, wanting to call the police, but feared startling the stalker.
She found her suitcase and stuffed it with important items and a few sets of clothes.
That extra packet of ribs relentlessly nagged at her nerves.
Who could it be?
While Julia was packing her bags,
The doorbell rang.
*
Outside the front door, Noah Quarter rang the doorbell but no one came to open it.
He looked down at his phone and dialed Julia Land’s mobile number.
Inside the bedroom, Julia glanced at the caller ID and hung up.
Not long after she hung up, she received a message from Noah Quarter.
[Julia, open the door. I know you’re home. Let’s talk? If you don’t open, I will keep standing at your doorstep waiting for you.]
Noah Quarter felt that if they continued in this stalemate, they would never reach a resolution.
So he decided to try changing this cold situation first.
Julia saw the message, frowned, and emotionlessly went to open the door.
As she opened the door,
Noah Quarter sized up Julia.
She wasn’t wearing a mask; at least this time he could clearly see her complexion.
He furrowed his brow.
Her complexion was indeed pale.
"Let’s talk, what does Director Quarter want to discuss? Can you please keep it consistent?"
Being called ’Director Quarter’ was somewhat jarring.
Just as Noah Quarter was about to say something, he suddenly noticed a small snake coiling around the money tree in the yard.
He took off his jacket, "Julia, come out, there’s a snake."
Julia was terrified of those slimy, boneless snakes.
Seeing that Noah’s expression wasn’t joking, she quickly left the house and turned to look into the yard.
It was a green snake.
In such a big city, it was quite rare, extremely rare, for a snake to get into someone’s house.
Julia thought again of the extra packet of ribs in the fridge.
Ribs couldn’t just appear out of nowhere, right?
