Chapter 132: Chapter 132 Ahhh!

Julia Land called Sophia Hart, arranging to meet her at noon the next day.

"Sophia, you’re familiar with Capital City, I’ll be back to Sincere Heart Community tomorrow noon to see you, planning to discuss the engagement venue with you."

Sophia Hart was instantly thrilled and exclaimed, "Ah! Julia, you and Brother Thompson are getting engaged??"

She suddenly drew her legs back—Thomas Sullivan was applying ointment to her calves.

Tonight, Thomas Sullivan had taken Sophia Hart out, but she had a minor accident.

"Yep, we’re preparing to get engaged," Julia Land flipped through the engagement venue information James Thompson had provided, favoring a Chinese style, "After a while, James plans to take me to Capital City for a visit."

James mainly intended to introduce her to the Thompson Family.

"It’s a pity I might miss your engagement party by then," Sophia Hart said with regret, "As soon as I return to Capital City, my parents will start bothering me."

Julia Land looked up at James Thompson with an inquiring gaze.

James Thompson, holding Julia Land, naturally heard Sophia Hart’s excited voice.

"If she wants to come back, she can," said James, "With me here, they won’t dare to come looking for her."

Julia Land smiled, gave James a vote of love’s encouragement, and then relayed his words to Sophia Hart.

Sophia Hart nodded happily, "Okay, I’ll go back to Capital City with you guys then!"

The two finished their conversation and ended the call.

Thomas Sullivan screwed the cap back onto the ointment, staring at Sophia Hart, "You’re going back to Capital City?"

For some reason, he felt a vague sense of irritability.

Sophia Hart’s smile was radiant, "Julia and Brother Thompson are getting engaged, of course, I want to attend their engagement party, don’t worry, I’ll come back to Dunmore City."

Thomas Sullivan’s tone was calm, "Don’t get your calves wet for the next couple of days, and remember to use a waterproof patch when you shower."

It was already very late, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to stay any longer.

Sophia Hart nodded and waved goodbye to him.

She looked completely ungrateful.

Thomas Sullivan descended the stairs and bent down to get into his car.

He pulled a cigarette from the pack, his sharp eyes hidden in the darkness of the car.

He was feeling a little frustrated.

He had never felt this way before.

Even when he impulsively decided to visit the andrology department a few days ago, his mood hadn’t been so chaotic.

**

The next morning.

On his way to work, James Thompson called Cody Thompson, "Dad, I’ll bring your daughter-in-law back to meet you in a while. She’s timid, so if you don’t want to meet her, I won’t bring her."

Cody Thompson was nearly amused by his son’s threatening call early in the morning, "If you dare, don’t come to see me; the Thompson Family won’t recognize her."

James chuckled, "She is my wife; my acknowledgment is enough. If the Thompson Family doesn’t recognize her, that’s fine. I can stand apart, start a new lineage, and I’ll be the first generation."

"...."

Cody Thompson, angry, hung up the phone directly.

Assistant Hunter stood by, listening to the Chairman scold Young Master Thompson.

After Cody Thompson had vented his anger, he turned to Assistant Hunter, "Hunter, is Chloe Sullivan’s due date approaching soon?"

"It should be around this time."

As soon as Assistant Hunter finished speaking, he heard Cody Thompson, "Arrange a private jet with a doctor and nurse to secretly bring Chloe to Capital City."

That kid is bringing Julia Land, so good, everyone can meet together.

Chloe Sullivan, who was painting, received a call from Assistant Hunter. After hearing the purpose of the call, she smiled faintly.

"Okay, thank you, I’ll have someone pack today, and I can head to Capital City tomorrow."

Arabella Shaw went to find several professionals to analyze the information Jameson Shaw gave her.

The analysis from the professionals was that if done well, the initial investment into the artificial intelligence industry could yield high returns later on.

After thinking it over, Arabella Shaw decided to become a guarantor.

After all, Jameson Shaw agreed to give her fifteen percent of the shares.

She accompanied Jameson Shaw to the private lending institution. Despite becoming a guarantor, she still needed to scrutinize the contract carefully.

James Knight presented the draft contract to Jameson Shaw, "I’ve negotiated the interest rate down to just 0.1 above the bank rate. Take a look, and if there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask."

Jameson Shaw studied the terms carefully and found no issues; Arabella Shaw too deemed the contract reasonable.

"James, thank you, no problem."

Jameson Shaw signed and pressed his fingerprints; Arabella Shaw did the same in the guarantor’s section.

Everything went smoothly.

Jameson Shaw got the funds and was ready to pay off the previous investment losses, something that Arabella was unaware of.

After sending them out, James Knight made a call to Julia Land to inform her of the situation.

Julia Land hung up the phone with a smile.

Next, she needed to figure out a way to get the mobile phone from Arabella.

She contacted the nanny arranged to be by Bella Quarter’s side.

The nanny was now at Jade Gardens, not Imperial View Gardens.

Julia didn’t expect Noah Quarter to have moved back to Jade Gardens.

Hearing this news, Julia remained unperturbed.

The nanny sent a message back to Julia.

The mobile phone might be in the safe in Arabella’s bedroom.

This was just speculation though.

**

Meanwhile, Arabella asked Jameson Shaw to take her to the restaurant where Victor Langston worked.

Jameson Shaw looked at Arabella without further questions, but he brought up family matters, "Your uncle has been wanting you to come home recently."

The "uncle" Jameson referred to was Arabella’s father, Dominic Shaw.

Due to the sudden annulment of marriage between Noah and Arabella, the Shaw family had been insisting Arabella return home for explanations.

However, Arabella had yet to visit.

Arabella frowned, pursed her lips, and said, "I’ll go home after some time."

The car arrived at the restaurant where Victor worked, Ronghua Restaurant.

Victor was serving dishes to other tables when a colleague came and told him a customer in private room five wanted to see him.

He entered the private room in confusion, saw the Shaw family members, furrowed his brows, and turned to leave.

"Wait, Mr. Lang, let’s talk," Arabella stopped Victor, looking to Jameson Shaw, "Cousin, I would like to talk to Mr. Lang alone."

Jameson Shaw smiled, "I’ll wait outside for you, just call me if you need anything."

Victor faced Arabella with a cold, grim expression, "I have nothing to talk about with Miss Shaw. Julia Land and our Langston family have no relationship anymore."

Arabella smiled, "Mr. Lang, there are thirty million in this card."

She placed a bank card on the table.

Victor closed the door, turned around, and looked at Arabella with a slightly sinking expression, "What do you want me to do?"

"It’s simple. Just arrange a meeting with Julia Land for me," Arabella told someone to kidnap Julia, who replied that it wasn’t easy to divert Julia’s bodyguards.

Now, there was a person ready-made for the job.

"Mr. Lang must be in need of money right now."

Victor sneered ambiguously, "Okay, where should the meeting take place?"

Seeing that Victor agreed, Arabella smiled, "Beauty Lake, just call this number when you have the time arranged."

The phone number Arabella gave Victor was that person’s number, Felix Hayes’s number.

Until now, she still didn’t know that Felix had been controlled by James Thompson’s men.

After Victor left the private room, he didn’t go back to work but instead took half a day off with his supervisor.

Did Arabella think he was foolish?

Victor called Jasper Winters; the last time Victor and Max Woods got into a fight, Jasper gave him a contact number.

"Assistant Winters, I have something to tell you. Arabella Shaw came to see me, gave me thirty million, and asked me to arrange a meeting with Julia Land at Beauty Lake."

"Mr. Lang, please hold on." Jasper relayed what Victor told him to James Thompson.

"Pass me the phone," James Thompson took Jasper’s cellphone and spoke to Victor, "Mr. Lang, keep the thirty million and I hope you continue to be smart."

Victor acknowledged the instruction.

James Thompson hung up with Victor, gave the phone back to Jasper, and casually ordered, "Arabella probably likes the water from Beauty Lake, let her go down to drink some."

"Has Christopher Moore, that madman, made any moves lately?"
