Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Call Me Hubby

Thomas Sullivan went to Quarter Group to discuss a matter.

Noah Quarter and Thomas Sullivan talked in the office because it involved research and development secrets.

Julia Land sat outside on the sofa waiting.

She was a bit sleepy and rested her elbow on the armrest, stirring to close her eyes.

Noah Quarter opened the door of the office; he adjusted his cufflinks and suddenly stopped as he lifted his eyes.

Julia Land was sitting on the sofa, head propped up, fast asleep. She was wearing a white blouse and a black miniskirt today, her fair legs neatly together.

Noah Quarter pursed his lips; he walked over to Alexander Strong’s desk and gestured towards the coat.

Alexander Strong, puzzled, handed over his coat to Noah Quarter.

When he saw Noah Quarter walk to the sofa and gently cover Julia Land’s legs with the coat,

Alexander Strong felt a moment of shock.

After Noah Quarter had covered Julia Land with the coat, he went to get some documents from Alexander Strong and said, "The phone inside is malfunctioning."

He took the documents and walked back into the office.

Alexander Strong glanced at Julia Land then looked away as he sent an email to the general affairs department to have the phone repaired.

Thomas Sullivan and Noah Quarter talked for an hour before concluding their meeting.

After the business was over, Thomas Sullivan brought up a personal matter, "Your sister, Eliza Quarter, has been troubling me a bit lately."

"Sorry, I’ll talk to her."

The two left the office one after another.

Thomas Sullivan saw Julia Land still sitting and asleep; he walked over, amused.

Thomas Sullivan stretched out his index finger and tapped Julia Land’s head.

Noah Quarter’s expression was cool and detached; suddenly, he felt like smoking.

Julia Land woke up startled; opening her eyes to the sight of a very mischievous-looking Thomas Sullivan, she rubbed the space between her eyebrows, "Sorry, have you finished talking?"

Thomas Sullivan nodded, "Yeah, let’s go have lunch."

At that moment, Julia Land noticed a man’s coat covering her legs; she picked up the coat, stood up, bypassing Noah Quarter to address Alexander Strong, "Secretary Strong, is this your coat?"

Alexander Strong took it with a smile.

"Thank you."

After thanking him, Julia Land followed Thomas Sullivan into the elevator.

Thomas Sullivan, hands in his pockets, moved his neck around, "Every time I talk business with Noah Quarter, my brain has to work overtime; Strong Health shouldn’t collaborate with Quarter Family again."

Julia Land replied indifferently, "Oh."

Next time, it would have nothing to do with her.

The two descended the building, left Quarter Group’s premises, and got into the car.

"How about we have Western food for lunch?" Thomas Sullivan suggested as he took out his phone, "We’ll invite Sophia to join us."

"Sure," Julia Land raised an eyebrow, asking casually, "Have you two been going out frequently lately?"

Thomas Sullivan texted Sophia Hart and responded with a hum.

The thought of Sophia Hart brought a smile to his face.

That girl was fun.

Julia Land glanced at Thomas Sullivan, lost in thought.

They arrived at the Western restaurant, and Sophia Hart was not yet there.

About ten minutes later, a vibrant Sophia Hart hurried over.

"Sister Julia, have you been waiting long?" Sophia Hart sat down next to Julia Land, "There was some traffic jam on the way here."

"Not long, it’s alright," Julia Land responded with a smile.

The waiter came over, and the three of them ordered their meals.

"Thomas, where are we going to hang out this week? Let’s not hike, I was dead tired after the last hike," Sophia Hart really thought Thomas Sullivan was a great travel buddy – safe and fun to be with.

Julia Land wondered if she was overthinking; her gaze fell on Sophia Hart and then inadvertently on Thomas Sullivan.

After their lunch, Thomas Sullivan headed back to the company, and Julia Land got into Sophia Hart’s car.

Throughout the ride, six out of every ten things Sophia Hart said were about Thomas Sullivan.

Seeing her speak so happily, Julia Land did not interject.

"Sister Julia, last time when I went hiking with Thomas, halfway up there was suddenly a little snake that darted out, nearly scared me to death, and I just jumped onto Thomas," Sophia Hart suddenly laughed, "Thomas reacted quickly, too, he just picked me up."

That evening, after having her fill, Julia Land was too lazy to go out for a walk.

Unable to persuade her, James Thompson could only open his laptop to work while keeping her company in the living room.

Julia Land, hugging a pillow, grew more and more uneasy as she thought about the day’s events. She turned to James Thompson, very seriously, "Mr. Thompson, I have a question I want to ask you."

"Sure, ask," James Thompson replied, working on an email without turning his head, multitasking.

Seeing that James Thompson didn’t look at her, Julia Land put the pillow down, reached out forcefully, and turned his face towards hers, "I have something important to say."

James Thompson looked at her resignedly, "Go ahead, I’m listening."

Julia Land carefully composed her question to ask James Thompson.

"If a man frequently takes a woman out, and that woman talks about him six times out of ten, do you think they have a very close friendship or that kind of affection between men and women?"

James Thompson raised an eyebrow, "How old are they?"

Julia Land, puzzled by his question, answered, "In their twenties."

"In their twenties, not kids."

After stating that, James Thompson removed Julia Land’s hand from his face and kissed her fingertips.

He then asked, "Little Pear, who are these man and woman?"

Julia Land coughed, honest to a fault, "Sophia and Thomas."

James Thompson, surprised, said, "They’re both adults. Matters of the heart, we shouldn’t casually intervene. At worst, Sophia Hart will come to me for help."

Hearing her partner speak like this, Julia Land felt somewhat reassured.

Moreover, these were just her groundless speculations, nothing had happened yet.

James Thompson stood up; he went into the study and came out with a stack of materials, handing them to Julia Land.

"Little Pear, these are possible venues in Capital City and abroad for engagement parties. See where you’d like to choose?"

James Thompson stretched out his long arm, pulling Julia Land into his embrace, "I told Jasper Winters to prepare some venues in Capital City, but now we have options abroad as well."

Handling the materials, Julia Land’s emotions were complex for a moment.

Pleasure, perhaps.

James Thompson bent down, kissing Julia Land, who happened to look up at him.

His voice was low and lazy, "Little Pear, do you want to try calling me ’husband’ as a test?"
