Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Listless and Dispirited

The next day, Noah woke up listless.

Julia and James Thompson both lacked energy.

Thompson rubbed his temples, sitting on the sofa, for he had an important meeting this morning.

Julia also leaned against the sofa.

They were waiting for Assistant Winters to bring breakfast over.

"We should restrain ourselves next time."

Julia, the air-breathing fairy, rubbed her waist.

She let out a queenly sigh.

James, "...."

That sigh was something else, rising and falling before her breathing slowly evened out.

Jasper Winters, carrying breakfast, saw the two dispirited figures, "..."

What had these two gotten up to last night?

"Little Julia, if you need any help, just contact Jasper directly," Thompson took the breakfast and looked at Julia, "Do you want me to feed you?"

Jasper, faced with their lovey-dovey morning, ".....,,"

Julia, "No need, I can eat by myself."

"Thank you, Assistant Winters."

Julia thanked Assistant Winters.

Jasper replied with a "You’re welcome," and then waited in the car outside for Thompson.

After breakfast, they each went about their own tasks.

Thompson bent down to get into the car, and Jasper handed him a list of suitable venues for an engagement party.

"BOSS, these are all well-known engagement venues in Capital City, or you can choose the castle you built two years ago."

James, "Hmm."

He would take them home tonight for little Julia to choose.

Julia left home and first bought some nourishment to take to Austin Langston’s father.

She sat in the car and didn’t go up herself, letting her bodyguard deliver it to Langston.

Langston’s face looked somewhat haggard as he received the gift.

This incident had left a shadow over her heart.

She had to worry constantly about the photos, which disturbed her sleep.

The bodyguard came back downstairs, bent over and spoke to Julia, still in the car, about Langston’s mental state.

Julia nodded, rolled up the window, thought for a moment, and then made a phone call to Langston.

Hearing Langston pick up, Julia said, "Miss Land, the two men have been caught. I’ll resolve the issue with your photos and Arabella Shaw as soon as I can."

Langston pursed her lips, "Okay."

After this incident, Julia also planned to distance herself from Langston.

Like Langston said, she had her parents and family.

Julia ended the call and said to the driver, "Let’s go."

She thought about the Shaw Family’s information, deciding she could start with Jameson Shaw.

Jameson Shaw had been having a rough few days, with his investment project, which had been showing progress, being suddenly halted, his losses visibly increasing every day.

He walked into a private high-interest loan shop.

"James Knight, I need to borrow four billion. Can you think of a way to help me?"

James Knight poured Shaw a cup of tea, told him not to rush, and asked gently, "Jameson, why the sudden need for money?"

Shaw replied with a bitter smile, "There’s been a problem with an investment, a shortage of funds."

He hadn’t anticipated such severe consequences.

Knight frowned, showing a complex expression, "You’ve already borrowed five hundred million from me; I can’t lend you another four billion. I’m not able to help. Maybe you should ask other lending institutions?"

"I asked, but they refused to approve the loan. I really had no other choice but to come to you," Jameson Shaw asked anxiously, "James, can you help me one more time?"

James Knight thought seriously for a moment, then said helplessly, "You need a guarantor. Don’t you have a celebrity cousin? You can ask her to be your guarantor."

"Ah? Are you talking about Arabella? She wouldn’t be a guarantor. She’s a public figure; as a celebrity, she couldn’t possibly act as a loan guarantor." Jameson Shaw rejected the suggestion.

James Knight laughed and shrugged his shoulders helplessly, "Jameson, without a guarantor, I really can’t do anything."

His eyes flickered as he continued, "It’s just four billion. You should be able to pay it back later on, or you could directly ask President Shaw?"

Hearing this, Jameson Shaw immediately shook his head; his uncle wouldn’t lend him four billion.

Now the only solution left was to find Arabella Shaw.

After thinking it through, he said to James Knight, "James, I’ll come back to you in a couple of days."

"Ok, come to me anytime you need something," James Knight said as he saw Jameson Shaw off in his car.

His refusal to kick someone when they were down made Jameson Shaw trust him even more.

After Jameson Shaw’s car left, James Knight went back into the house, climbed the stairs, and entered a room.

"Miss Land, Jameson Shaw has left. Will he really go to Arabella Shaw to be his guarantor?" James Knight asked doubtfully.

James Knight was someone Julia Land and James Thompson wanted. She had him set up a private lending firm in a short period of time.

The target was Jameson Shaw.

The corners of Julia Land’s lips curled up, "He will go to Arabella Shaw."

Jameson Shaw had some skills. He entered the Shaw Family company and gradually earned the trust of Arabella’s father.

Even more impressively, he had been slowly draining the Shaw Family company’s funds to make investments since two years ago.

However, as Arabella got back together with Noah Quarter, Jameson Shaw had to stop his plan to drain the company midway because he was wary of Noah.

Now, he was at a critical moment in his investments and short on funds.

And Julia Land, kind-hearted as she was, had sent him the records of his plan to drain the Shaw Family company, in exchange for a sum of money.

He was now out of money.

Imperial View Gardens.

Arabella Shaw took a few days to return herself to a state of good spirits.

Sister Wilson advised her to rest for a few more days before going back to work.

Eliza Quarter came over to comfort her and had just left not long ago when Arabella Shaw inwardly cursed Eliza as an idiot.

The security guard at the gate called to say a Mr. Jameson Shaw was looking for her.

Jameson Shaw entered Imperial View Gardens, and when he saw Arabella Shaw, he first expressed his concern for her.

Then, somewhat hesitantly, he spoke up, "I wouldn’t have felt right coming to ask for your help, but I really had no other choice."

Arabella Shaw smiled faintly, "Cousin, just say it. If I can help, I will."

But if she couldn’t help, she wouldn’t.

"Actually, it’s not complicated. I just want to ask you to be my guarantor for a loan of four billion for an investment."

Arabella Shaw frowned instantly, "Cousin, sorry, but I can’t agree to be your guarantor."

She wasn’t foolish.

Jameson Shaw took out a contract from his bag, "Arabella, take a look at this contract, and this is the analysis of the potential profits of my investment."

Arabella took the contract and the profit analysis, flipping through a few pages. She understood the contract but was less clear about the analysis, "I’ll ask someone about it first."

"Ok, I’ll wait for your response," Jameson Shaw didn’t insist on an answer that day, "If there’s really no way, I’ll have to give others eighty percent of the profits."

Arabella didn’t fully understand the industry that Jameson Shaw was investing in and needed to ask a professional.

Just as Jameson Shaw was about to leave, he suddenly remembered something and mentioned it to Arabella.

"I was dining with a client a while ago, and I ran into Victor Langston; he’s connected to Julia Land through her stepfather’s family."

"I didn’t expect that he’d fallen to the point of being a waiter."

Arabella also remembered Victor Langston; her eyes flickering slightly, "Cousin, don’t worry, I’ll give you an answer tomorrow."

Victor Langston, huh? How could she have forgotten about Victor Langston?
