Chapter 124: Chapter 124 Bewildered

Julia Land looked calmly at the crazed laughing Arabella Shaw, "It’s you who just had your head dunked in toilet water, not me. Do you think I would believe what you’re saying?"

Arabella’s eyes were bloodshot, "The incident with the beggar, it was Noah who told me, believe it or not."

"Ah, right, I still remember that hotel was called Starshine Hotel, a five-star one."

Julia Land smirked coldly, looking down on Arabella Shaw with contempt, "Getting done by a beggar is still better than getting done by Noah Quarter, understand?"

Arabella stared at Julia Land in disbelief.

Her gaze instantly became vacant.

Julia Land snickered and strode out of the bathroom.

She happened to run into Noah Quarter just as she walked out.

Noah Quarter was here for a meal, and Arabella’s bodyguard saw him.

He only found out that Arabella Shaw had been dragged into the bathroom by Julia Land from them.

Julia Land stopped in her tracks and turned her head to look at Noah Quarter,

She asked indifferently, "More than a year ago, at Starshine Hotel, that time you had a fever, we didn’t do anything, did we?"

Noah Quarter was at a loss for words and fell silent for a second, "Yes."

Julia Land walked away with big strides.

She bit her lip.

So that time at the hotel, she had been with a stranger?

Back then, she had drunk a lot on behalf of Noah Quarter as his secretary, and the business negotiations hadn’t gone smoothly.

It had been so long since then, Julia Land consoled herself with a bitter smile of self-entertainment.

Instead, she started to consider something else, was she set up that time at the hotel?

Julia Land didn’t have time to think about herself now.

What mattered most now was Austin Langston’s situation.

She wasn’t sure if Arabella Shaw was behind Austin’s incident.

If so, although she had just taken photos of Arabella, temporarily deterring her, the person who tied up Austin was still at large.

Austin and his family of three were all in the same hospital.

Julia Land approached the hospital ward with a bag of packed food; before she could push the door and enter, she heard the conversation between Austin Langston and Abigail Fields.

"Sweetheart, tell me honestly, why would that man want to knock us out this time?"

Abigail Fields was still frightened by the thought.

They were just ordinary people.

She spoke in panic again, "Was it something like ’black fans’? The entertainment industry is so scary; my girl, you shouldn’t mix in it anymore."

Austin knew this incident frightened and worried his mother, and he hadn’t dared to tell her about being photographed and recorded.

If those things ended up on the internet one day, he might need a lot of courage to face it.

"Mom, don’t worry, it’s okay, it’s okay," Austin said, not sure if he was comforting himself or Abigail.

Julia Land waited for their conversation to end before knocking and entering.

"Austin, Auntie, I brought you lunch."

"Who are you?" Abigail had never seen Julia Land before.

"Auntie, I’m Austin’s friend, Julia Land." Julia Land greeted Abigail while taking the lunch out for them.

Austin placidly placed the meal box on the table, looking pale as he spoke, "Sorry, I don’t have an appetite right now."

Julia Land clearly noticed that Austin’s attitude towards her had become very cold.

Julia Land sighed inwardly, "You can eat it later."

"Miss Land, can we talk?" Austin looked up at Julia Land.

Abigail also sensed her daughter’s cold tone toward Julia Land, she held onto the meal box Julia had brought but felt awkward and didn’t feel like eating it right now.

Julia Land and Austin stepped out of the hospital room; there were people coming and going everywhere in the hospital, so they went to a place in the hospital’s green belt with a grassy lawn where no one was around.

Austin stared intently at Julia Land, "You know who is behind this, don’t you? It’s because of you that they humiliated me like that, isn’t it?"

She was too worried about those photos and videos, now that she found a target to vent her frustrations.

Julia Land hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond; she wasn’t a detective and still had no confirmation if it was Arabella Shaw who masterminded this.

Austin said coldly, "Did you suddenly introduce a bodyguard to me because you knew someone would harm me?"

Looking at Austin, Julia Land spoke sincerely, "I’m sorry, I only have a suspect in mind."

Austin tensed up, "Who?"

Julia Land didn’t hide it from her, "You know this person, Arabella Shaw."

Austin didn’t know how to react for a moment.

She didn’t know whether to be thankful for Julia Land or to hate her.

When Arabella Shaw suppressed her and she was preparing to leave the industry, Julia Land sold her the song rights, allowing her to truly become a female singer.

At that time, Austin knew she was just a tool for Julia Land to use against Arabella Shaw, and she needed Julia Land’s song then; it was a mutually beneficial relationship.

Later, Julia Land personally came to rescue her from the bar, and today it was Julia Land who saved her again.

Without any evidence, Arabella Shaw wouldn’t face any punishment.

"I’m sorry, I was in a bad mood just now."

Austin said as she considered whether to stay away from Julia Land and Arabella Shaw temporarily.

She was still fearful and worried, wondering if Arabella Shaw would still crazily go after her, thinking about her parents, not just herself.

Julia Land watched Austin’s retreating figure, pressing her lips together, her eyes revealing a trace of bewilderment.
