Chapter 122: Chapter 122 Accident

Arabella Shaw’s car stopped outside the gates of Jade Gardens.

She sat inside the car.

Staring with a pair of eyes filled with resentment, she fixed her gaze on the brightly lit Jade Gardens.

So that was it.

He had actually moved into Jade Gardens.

At this moment, Arabella Shaw had to admit that all her schemes had ultimately failed.

She wouldn’t accept this.

Why did it have to be this way?

Arabella Shaw opened the car door, got out, and walked to the gate.

"Open the gate."

The security guard recognized Arabella Shaw.

Arabella Shaw shouted angrily, "I told you to open the gate! Didn’t you hear me?"

Once the security guard saw Arabella Shaw’s demeanor, he knew trouble was coming.

He hurriedly called the butler.

The butler in charge of managing Jade Gardens was still the old butler from Mrs. Quarter’s time.

"Butler Li, the lady has come to find the gentleman, and she is right outside the gate now."

The security guard sighed internally; it was his bad luck to be on duty the night a scandal among the wealthy unfolded.

Hadn’t the internet been buzzing that Miss Shaw and Mr. Quarter were childhood sweethearts turned married lovers?

It didn’t look like they were very affectionate.

Butler Li sighed inwardly, realizing that Mrs. Quarter’s concerns had come true.

One sees clearly only after losing something.

Too much trust was placed in one’s own instincts.

Butler Li asked the security guard to wait; the young guard didn’t have the composure of the old butler.

He worried that if his employers made up after their argument, he was likely going to be fired by the lady of the house.

Director Quarter paid very high salaries.

Butler Li had no idea the stoic guard had such a lively imagination; he went upstairs to the study and knocked.

"Come in."

Butler Li entered, "Mr. Quarter, Miss Shaw is here."

He did not call her Mrs. Quarter.

Noah Quarter stopped his work and looked up at the butler, "Tell her to go back."

Butler Li acknowledged and left the study, went downstairs, and picked up the landline to inform the guard, "Please tell Miss Shaw to go back."

After the guard on the other end hung up, he conveyed Noah’s message to Arabella Shaw via the intercom.

With her eyes red and her hair disheveled, wearing pajamas and looking disheveled, Arabella scoffed, "You think you can send me away with just one sentence not to see me?"

She turned around, climbed into the driver’s seat, and started the car.

The guard thought Mrs. Quarter was leaving, but instead, she drove the car straight toward the gate.

"!"

"This is bad!"

The guard quickly pressed the gate opener and at the same time, he made a call to the villa.

Arabella Shaw’s car screeched to a stop as it neared the gate.

The piercing sound of the brakes echoed in the night.

With a cold expression, she waited for the gate to open before driving through.

The guard peered at the receding car and said to Butler Li on the phone, "Mrs. Quarter was driving to smash the gate; I opened it, and she went in."

Butler Li had already heard the sound of the brakes from the entrance; he hung up and walked to the door, just as Arabella Shaw was coming in.

She surveyed the living room decor, which was still the same as when Julia Land was there.

"Miss Shaw, it’s late; you should go back," said Butler Li in a gentle tone.

Arabella Shaw ignored him and stomped upstairs.

Not knowing which room Noah Quarter was in, she started opening doors from the second floor, one by one.

Butler Li followed her; he had thought about calling someone to remove her, but he didn’t.

Until Arabella Shaw opened the study door and saw Noah Quarter.

Butler Li stood outside the study door, waiting.

"Oh, you think that Julia Land will come back and live here with you? She won’t! With her personality, how could she possibly come back!"

Arabella’s eyes were red as she hurled these hysterical accusations, stabbing Noah Quarter with her words.

Noah Quarter said indifferently, "We’ve already said everything that needs to be said. Look at yourself now."

Considering she was Bella Quarter’s mother, he refrained from being too harsh.

Arabella let out a cold laugh, her tone sarcastic, "What do I look like now? I’m about to become the laughingstock in everyone’s eyes; what demeanor could I possibly maintain?"

Once everyone knew she and Noah Quarter were at odds, what else would they have to see but her misfortune?

Noah Quarter didn’t want to keep arguing and turned his head towards the door, "Butler Li, have someone send her back."

Right at that moment, a call from Imperial View Gardens interrupted the tense confrontation.

"Mr. Quarter, the little girl fell out of bed, and we’re taking her to the hospital now."

The butler continued, looking at the back seat where the nanny was holding the crying Bella Quarter, comforting her.

"The lady said she wanted to stay with the little girl tonight; she had the nanny bring her into the bedroom."

If it weren’t for Bella’s loud cries, it might have taken a long time before she was discovered.

Noah Quarter gave Arabella Shaw a cold glance as he listened to the phone, then passed by her without expression, "Butler Li, prepare the car."

Arabella Shaw, still unaware of who had made the call, grabbed Noah Quarter’s sleeve.

Noah lifted his hand and slapped Arabella Shaw across the face.

He typically wouldn’t hit a woman, but this time, he couldn’t restrain himself.

Arabella Shaw’s head turned with the slap, her face covered in disbelief.

"Arabella, Bella fell off the bed. I’ll settle this matter with you later."

Noah Quarter gave Arabella Shaw a cold look as he strode out of the study, "Immediately have someone throw her out of Jade Gardens, and don’t let her in again."

Arabella Shaw stood foolishly in the study, holding her face.

Butler Li walked into the study, "Miss Shaw, let’s go."

*

Julia Land woke up to a message from the nanny.

The message roughly said that Bella Quarter had a broken bone and was hospitalized, and that Arabella Shaw and Noah Quarter were splitting up.

Julia brushed her teeth while staring at the phone.

Last time it had been life incompatibility between Arabella Shaw and Noah Quarter, and now they were actually splitting up?

A match made in heaven, on the brink of separation!

Julia found it ludicrous.

She put down her toothbrush and touched her tears of joy.

Julia muttered, "Little Violet, do you think their retribution has arrived?"

A phone call came in just then.

Julia answered the call.

"Miss Land, Austin Langston has had an accident."

Julia’s eyes instantly hardened; she had just asked Mr. Thompson the night before to investigate Austin Langston’s father’s car accident.

And she had also sent bodyguards to protect Austin.

"Where are you now? I’m coming right away."
