Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child!
Chapter 109: James Thompson’s Child?

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: James Thompson’s Child?

Sophia Hart puffed up with anger, "Julia, how can they casually say you’re a murderer like that?"

Julia Land’s beautiful eyes twinkled with amusement, and she scoffed, "Easy, they all just grew an extra mouth."

Sophia snorted with laughter, "Julia, grew an extra mouth? That would be non-human."

"Right, non-human."

Julia had always refused to be the kind of person who pushed others into the abyss.

Parroting others.

Gossip was fine, but it depended on what the gossip was about.

Julia chatted with Sophia for a while, but feeling unwell, she ended the call.

James Thompson had temporarily left for the kitchen while Julia was on the phone with Sophia.

Curious, Julia heard the sound of chopping from the kitchen and went to check it out in her slippers.

Mr. Thompson, wearing a black robe, had his well-defined hand on a cleaver.

He was cutting pork ribs.

The key point was, there was a stand on the counter with a mobile phone on it, playing a video on how to stir-fry ribs.

"What are you doing?"

Julia watched him, not understanding.

James replied nonchalantly, "Learning to cook, so I can cook for my wife in the future."

Huh?

Mr. Thompson, with restrained anticipation, awaited Miss Land to move, touched, and give him a deep kiss.

However, Julia just looked at him with a very serious expression, "Then you better study hard because I won’t eat it if it’s not good."

She didn’t want to endure shitty cooking, like the kind Sophia made, which gave her diarrhea after a single bite, brutally fierce.

"..."

This wasn’t as he expected.

Weren’t women supposed to come over and kiss him, touched by the gesture?

Julia also knew that this was a time when men needed encouragement.

Without encouragement, men wouldn’t be proactive.

Using a sickeningly sweet tone, she said, "Mr. Thompson, keep it up, love you, study hard! Go for it!"

Having said that, she turned and left the kitchen cheerily to watch her show.

James only managed to catch a glimpse of her graceful retreat from the kitchen.

His gaze softened, he raised an eyebrow, and looked down seriously to learn the first home-cooked dish: sweet and sour pork ribs.

She seemed to have regained a little of her vitality.

Just as Julia sat on the living room sofa, she received a call from Alexander Strong.

She answered the phone.

Alexander’s steady voice came through, "Julia, can we meet? Noah wants to see you."

Julia’s face turned cold and she frowned, not yet declining.

Alexander hurriedly lowered his voice, "It’s about this murder accusation you’re facing. Noah has a video that could prove your innocence."

Alexander didn’t know the details.

Julia frowned, thinking why Noah would suddenly be so kind, "Let’s meet in the Noble Grid Hotel lobby."

Matters of the case shouldn’t be handled impulsively.

The lobby had chairs and tables.

She would bring Mr. Thompson with her!

Julia liked this idea very much, and so did James.

At eleven o’clock, Julia and James hand in hand made their way down to the hotel lobby.

Noah Quarter glanced up and saw the couple arriving together.

He stood up and greeted Mr. Thompson first, "Mr. Thompson."

James gave Noah a cursory glance and sat down with Julia.

Noah took his seat as well and, without small talk, placed a USB drive on the table and said coolly.

"A Mr. Moore contacted me yesterday. He sold me this USB drive, and the video inside can prove Julia Land is innocent."

James Thompson responded with a smirk, "Oh, well, thank you very much, nephew."

Noah’s expression remained neutral as he checked his watch and then apologized to James and Julia, "I have to go pick up my fiancée, I’ll be leaving first."

His visit was purely to deliver the USB drive.

After Noah left, Julia picked up the USB drive from the table, puzzled, "Who’s Mr. Moore?"

James answered thoughtfully, "My sworn enemy, a madman. Ever heard of the Moore Family in Capital City?"

Meanwhile, Noah Quarter exited with a stoic face and got into the car, a dark glint flashing through his eyes.

To keep James from suspecting his collaboration with Christopher Moore, the only way was to pretend Christopher had suddenly sold him a video.

"To ’My Voice’ filming location," Noah instructed.

He said he was going to pick up Arabella Shaw, and he would. To put on a show, you had to do it right.

James and Julia returned to their suite, plugged the USB drive into the computer, and played the video.

After watching the video, Julia fell silent, because the short-haired woman who followed Charles King into the alley was someone she didn’t recognize.

"Was it her who killed Charles King?"

"She’s Charles King’s daughter, Mia King."

James had already investigated everyone around Charles King multiple times.

He had suspected Mia King for a while, but everything needed evidence.

Without this video, he’d still need more time to investigate, and during that time, young Julia could suffer from rumors and slander.

James continued to speculate with Julia, "This was likely orchestrated by Stella Langston and Mia King."

"They want you to take the fall, Charles King may seem like a gentleman now, but back in his youth, he was very capable of domestic violence against his wife. Sadly, his wife later died from depression, and after that, he often berated and hit Mia King."

In today’s society, there indeed exist cruel fathers or mothers who can ruthlessly harm their own children to death.

Mia King grew up being abused, which twisted her heart and made her harbor deep hatred for Charles King.

At that time, Stella Langston told her there was a way to get her revenge without having to go to prison, so she chose to do it.

James Thompson first copied the video, then he called Jasper Winters to have the USB drive sent to the police station.

And he sent another message to his subordinates: "Check if Noah Quarter had any contact with Christopher Moore before."

Even according to the lunatic temperament of Christopher Moore, it is indeed possible that he would sell the video to Julia Land’s ex-husband just to spite him.

But James Thompson still decided to have Noah Quarter investigated.

Thomas Sullivan didn’t originally know why Julia Land needed to take a leave of absence, but now he understood.

Chloe Sullivan had called him, and that’s how he found out.

"Brother Thomas, I heard from a friend about Secretary Land being implicated in a murder case, is she alright now?" Chloe Sullivan leaned against the sofa and caressed her noticeably pregnant belly.

She had endured a long time without calling James Thompson.

She had spent this period peacefully nurturing her pregnancy, and if Julia Land were to be entangled in a legal case, that would be quite convenient.

Thomas Sullivan frowned, "I only found out about this after you mentioned it. I’ll hang up now and call to inquire about the situation."

He wanted to ask if Julia Land needed any help.

When Julia Land received Thomas Sullivan’s call, she was lying on the sofa, letting Mr. Thompson massage the acupuncture points on her lower abdomen and calves.

She said to Thomas on the phone, "Boss, it’s not necessary, this matter will be resolved very soon."

Thomas Sullivan felt relieved to hear Julia Land speak like this, "Okay, come back to work once your situation is settled."

Julia Land smiled, "Alright."

They hung up the phone.

Julia Land was very comfortable under James Thompson’s massage, and she closed her eyes, moaning in comfort.

His eyes darkened as he leaned in to gaze into her eyes.

Her beautiful face had regained a bit of color, "Julia, for the massage, how about you settle up with Brother Thompson first?"

Julia really didn’t want to laugh, but she just couldn’t help it.

The self-proclaimed Brother Thompson, James Thompson raised an eyebrow, his gaze deep as he watched her, "What’s so funny? The fruits of labor are honorable, you know?"

The distance between them was too close, their breaths intertwining.

James Thompson was the first to surrender and sat up straight.

Continuing the flirtation would only torment himself.

Julia Land deliberately stretched out her finger to hook his chin.

Mr. Thompson, "...."

Green Auspice Villa

After Chloe Sullivan finished the call with Thomas Sullivan, she called Trevor Sullivan.

Feeling lost and helpless, she said, "Brother, my stomach hurts, what should I do, is something wrong with the baby?"

Trevor Sullivan was roaming a shopping mall with a beautiful woman in his arms when he suddenly heard his cousin say this, startling him, "What baby?"

"Where are you right now? I’ll come find you."

Trevor Sullivan, usually easygoing with a smile, now had his expression turn cold, as he let go of the woman in his arms and walked away.

"I’m at Green Auspice Villa," Chloe Sullivan said with bitten lips, softly.

The woman who had finally snagged the attention of the second young master Sullivan was frustrated to see herself ditched halfway, stomping her foot in anger.

Some random Ximen Qing, how annoying.

It only took Trevor Sullivan twenty minutes to drive to the Green Auspice Villa.

The gatekeeper had already received notice from Chloe Sullivan, so at the sight of Trevor Sullivan’s face through the car window, he opened the gate and let him in.

Trevor Sullivan parked the car, alighted, and strode into the living room.

He saw his cousin touching her visibly pregnant belly, looking both scared and helpless.

He was so angry that he cursed.

"Damn, who is that bastard of a man?"

Chloe Sullivan looked at Trevor Sullivan, bit her lip, and remained silent, "Brother, let’s go to the hospital first."

Seeing that she didn’t want to talk further, Trevor Sullivan could only take her to the hospital for a check-up.

The doctor said everything was normal, just that the pregnant woman was overly anxious and needed to be soothed properly.

After leaving the hospital, Trevor Sullivan drove Chloe Sullivan back to Green Auspice Villa.

"Is it James Thompson’s child?" Trevor Sullivan furrowed his brow and continued to ask, "Is the baby actually James Thompson’s?"

Chloe Sullivan hung her head low, "Brother, I don’t want to say."

"We’ve reached this point, and you still don’t want to say?"

At the hospital, Trevor Sullivan had stealthily asked the doctor in private if it was possible to terminate the pregnancy now, but the doctor did not recommend it as the fetus had already developed significantly.

Chloe Sullivan’s tears began to fall, "James Thompson chose to be with Julia Land, I didn’t dare to tell him about the pregnancy."

Trevor Sullivan’s entire mind exploded, "I’m going to ask him for clarity."

"Don’t go, you’re not allowed to go!" Chloe Sullivan stood up agitatedly.

Her action startled Trevor Sullivan, "Sit down properly, don’t be upset, I won’t go, just take care of yourself."

Chloe Sullivan’s face, full of unease, tightly grasped Trevor Sullivan’s hand, "Brother, what should I do, please help me, I really don’t know what to do now."

Trevor Sullivan thought deeply with a frown, "I think I understand James Thompson quite well, he’s completely devoted to Julia Land now, he’s not going to marry you just because of a baby."

Chloe Sullivan’s face turned instantly pale.

"Unless..." Trevor Sullivan looked at his cousin, whose complexion was pale, and paused.

With tears in her eyes, Chloe Sullivan urged, "Unless what? Brother, just say it."
