Chapter 103: Chapter 103 Uncontrollable Feelings

Julia Land arrived at the company and first checked her own blood test results, which were normal.

Then she handed over Thomas Sullivan’s blood test report to him.

She walked into the office and saw him frowning intensely.

Could it be that the results from the urology department yesterday were bad?

Thomas Sullivan, unaware of Julia’s conjecture, opened the blood test report with a bit of nervousness.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the results.

Thankfully, it was normal.

He put down the report, lifted his eyelids, and saw Julia looking as if she had a question to ask.

"Something on your mind? Oh, by the way, my blood test results are normal."

Julia smiled, "Congratulations, congratulations. There is one thing, is Dr. Xu still okay? Do you need to switch to another doctor? If it really doesn’t work out, you can make an appointment to see a psychiatrist."

Thomas Sullivan looked at Julia straight on, a bit speechless—how could he possibly be so fragile as to need to see a psychologist?

"It’s nothing. It’ll be back to normal after a while."

Since Thomas Sullivan said so, Julia saw no need to ask further.

She walked out of the office and had barely reached her seat, not yet sitting down, when the telephone on her desk rang.

She glanced at the caller ID, the number of the reception desk.

As soon as she answered, upon hearing the receptionist say that Director Quarter’s sister was looking for Thomas Sullivan, Julia raised her eyebrows.

Eliza Quarter was looking for Thomas Sullivan?

"Please hold, I’ll ask the chairman."

Julia called Thomas Sullivan to inform him that Eliza Quarter was looking for him.

Thomas Sullivan was also baffled—what would Eliza Quarter want with him? They were not acquainted.

Could it be that cunning Noah Quarter had something to do with this?

With this strange suspicion,

Thomas Sullivan invited Eliza Quarter to his office.

Julia notified the receptionist.

The receptionist stood up, smiling politely, "Miss Quarter, you may go up now, 18th floor."

Eliza Quarter had been a bit nervous, uncertain if Thomas Sullivan would see her, but after hearing the receptionist, she felt reassured and broke into a smile, "Thank you."

She entered the elevator, pressed the button for the 18th floor, began adjusting her skirt, and checking her makeup.

Her looks were cute, and she had a blossoming presence.

Eliza Quarter reached the 18th floor, and when she saw Julia, sitting at the prime position at the secretary’s area, she almost couldn’t control her volume, "Julia Land, what are you doing here?"

Julia looked up with a smile, "I work here."

Eliza Quarter knew well this wasn’t the Quarter Family business and reined in her heiress temper—today, her most important task was to convey her feelings to Thomas Sullivan and not to tangle with Julia.

Julia pushed open the door and let Eliza Quarter inside.

Thomas Sullivan leaned against the sofa, legs crossed, leisurely smoking, and raised his eyes to look at Eliza, "What brings Miss Quarter to me?"

Eliza Quarter saw his handsome face, her cheeks flushed with color, and she psyched herself up, "Thomas Sullivan, I’ve liked you for a long time."

"..."

What in the world.

Coming to the company just to confess her feelings.

Thomas Sullivan’s face darkened; if she was there just for this, and if not for the fact that she was the Quarter Family’s precious daughter, he would probably have cursed her out.

He flicked the ash into the ashtray and said gravely, "I’m sorry, but I don’t like you."

Such a direct way of rejection.

Eliza Quarter instantly felt embarrassed and hurt.

Her eyes reddening, she asked, "Then can I pursue you?"

Without saying another word, Thomas Sullivan rejected her outright, "No, I hate being pestered by girls."

"Why not? My family background is suitable, and so is my appearance," Eliza Quarter said with tears in her eyes, looking at Thomas Sullivan.

Thomas Sullivan, "..." What kind of logic is this?

"I don’t like you, regardless of whether your family background or looks are good."

He was really allergic to this kind of ’love brain.’

Thomas Sullivan grew less patient and picked up the phone on the desk, calling out to Julia, "Secretary Land, please see the guest out."

Eliza Quarter bit her red lips, blinked her tearful eyes, and turned to leave the office on her own.

As she passed by Julia, she gave her a stare.

Julia, "?"

The young miss was truly bizarre. Seeing her slightly reddened eyes, Julia figured she was about to cry.

But why the glare? What was wrong with her?

After leaving Strong Health Technology, Eliza Quarter ran to Imperial View Gardens to find Arabella Shaw.

Arabella Shaw had temporarily paused her work for today, preparing herself to greet her engagement party in the best state.

Eliza Quarter was heartbroken.

All Arabella could do was console her.

"I knew it, he likes the slutty and cheap kind like Julia Land,"

Eliza Quarter cried out in accusation.

"He’s just blind. Eliza, don’t cry," Arabella showed shared animosity but inwardly looked down on Eliza, "How do you know he likes Julia’s type?"

"At the banquet before, I heard Thomas Sullivan tell my brother that he really liked Secretary Land’s type."

That was another reason why Eliza Quarter had always disliked Julia Land.

"Arabella, what should I do? I’ve liked him for so long, I don’t want to give up." Eliza truly harbored a secret love for Thomas Sullivan.

Secret love was painful, and she really didn’t want to give up.

Arabella Shaw felt that since Thomas Sullivan had already rejected Eliza, there was no chance for her.

But she couldn’t outright tell Eliza that.

Suddenly, Eliza stopped crying, struck by an idea, "Arabella, what if I sleep with him, do you think we might have a chance to be together?"

According to the standing of the Quarter Family, if something really did happen with Thomas Sullivan, the Sullivan Family would have to give an explanation to the Quarter Family.

Arabella Shaw hadn’t expected Eliza to have such a thought.

"Eliza, don’t be reckless, your brother will get angry," Arabella advised.

As for whether Eliza would listen, that was no longer her concern.

**

In the afternoon, when office hours were over, James Thompson came to pick up Julia Land.

"Are you hungry? If not, I’ll take you somewhere first," James asked.

After sending a message to Stella Langston to meet the next day, Julia turned to look at James with a hint of curiosity, "I’m not very hungry, where are we going?"

"You’ll know when we get there."

"Mr. Thompson is being mysterious," Julia said with a laugh.

She was somewhat expectant.

During rush hour in Dunmore City, the roads could get very congested, and it took forty minutes for the car to slowly make its way to a stop.

Julia got out of the car and smiled at the sight of the large gates of the Chinese-style villa.

So, this is where James had brought her.

"Is the renovation complete?"

"Yes."

James went to open the door, taking Julia’s hand as they walked in.

They hadn’t moved into this house immediately after buying it.

Since they disliked some aspects of the decor, they decided to redo several parts to suit their taste.

She looked at the refurbished areas, "Shall we go furniture shopping on Sunday?"

Julia liked to set up her home bit by bit.

"Okay."

James wrapped his arm around her shoulder, accompanying her around the villa as they discussed what to put where.

Julia occasionally noted down items to purchase on her phone.

"For the study, let’s have two desks. You can be here, and I’ll be there. What do you think? Or..."

She lifted her head, initially wanting to suggest separating into two different studies.

But her gaze met James’s indulgent look.

Without being able to resist, she tiptoed up and kissed him.

James caught her fiercely, not letting her go.

Their bodies were already a perfect fit.

He lifted and pinned her against the wall.

Julia’s back pressed against the wall, her slender arms draped around his neck.

*

The next day, upon waking, Julia rubbed her waist.

Mr. Thompson was human with his clothes on, and a beast without them.

It was probably the same for all men.

James entered the bedroom, seeing that Julia was awake, he checked the time, "It’s still early, you can sleep more."

He went over and massaged her waist.

"Next time I’ll control myself," James said.

Julia glanced at him, his shirt slightly open and his disheveled appearance, looking very tempting.

She shyly replied, "No need to control yourself."

She enjoyed it as well.

Julia, always true to her own desires, didn’t think there was anything wrong with that idea.

James immediately laughed sotto voce.

His baby Julia was just too adorable.

"I’m hungry."

No sooner had Julia uttered these words than she immediately remembered that last night James had been feeding her while they were at it.

She coughed lightly, quickly got out of bed, and headed straight for the bathroom without looking back.

James raised his eyebrow, waiting for her at the dining table.

It was only after Julia had finished breakfast that she brought up her plans for the day to James, "I’m meeting with Stella today, she said she has a secret to exchange with me."
