Chapter 288 - 288: Balmond The Zombie
It soon turned bright red and then, with a loud BOOM, it exploded outwards. Keith snapped his fingers, sending all his death knights into his spatial dimension along while he too vanished, escaping the explosion.
Almost every spider was burned to smithereens. While they were undeads, their legs were still extremely susceptible to fire. Those that lived, were unable to walk anymore.
Most Zombies turned into ash but those that lived, were mostly burnt to extreme levels. They could still walk, with burnt flesh falling off their bodies but their numbers had dwindled by a lot.
It was the same with the other undeads except the Death Knights. The ones that were in the center, had their armors bright red due to the heat but they still stood straight and moved like they normally did.
Keith came back out from his spatial dimension along with his army of Death Knights, but the moment he did, he heard his own voice, which was slightly guttural and sounded growly.
"So you're here, ME FROM THIS WORLD!"
The voice was loud, but Keith simply pointed at the rest of the undead and gave out a command, completely ignoring his doppleganger.
"Go attack." he said and dashed straight towards one of the death knights that was the farthest from his army. He grabbed it by the helmet's eye sockets and continued running, dragging it like a ragdoll.
"You dare ignore me?!! Oh wait, you're me. How could I forget! Did you really think I'm just going to sit here and watch you decimate my army?!"
Keith ignored the voice again and began to fight the death knight. He could overpower it with his multiple skills but he didn't. Instead, he simply played around with it as he focused on parrying and blocking it's attacks.
'Continue fighting and let Barou's ability stack up steadily. If I don't do this now, I'll have no chance against that asshole.' he thought as he continued to play with the death knight.
Soon, he heard a high pitched scream that sent shivers down his body. His bones could feel it too.
Then.
'HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME WHEN I'M WEAKKK!!'
Keith shook his head, trying to shake of the feeling of dread as he exhaled heavily, 'This guy isn't my parallel self… he's a fucking child who can't control his emotions. Edgy ass teenager with mommy issues. Oh wait that was me when I was young… wait… was he brought to this world when he was a teen?! No no Emma did say that he was married and stuff. Oh well.'
Emma did not give him a response but Keith never expected one. He let out a sigh but as soon as he did, he felt the ground shake.
THUD
THUD
THUD
He turned around, looking for the source and saw a familiar face.
"Pretty much the same as the illustration I saw." Keith commented as he stared at Balmond, the war god.
He had large muscles and stood at eight feet, looking down at Keith with a smile on his ugly Boar Head.
"Your skin was supposed to be bright red… but now it's greyish green. You really did turn into a zombie huh? It's a pain to fight you when you're able to wield divinity but fighting a zombie version of you is annoying in it's own way. I might not die in one shot but I won't be able to kill you either…"
This was the harsh truth, but Keith suddenly grinned, "Actually, you came at the right time. I don't have to hold back anymore."
"Oi Walnart Keith, don't forget to heal this pig okay? Or I'll come to you next." He yelled, rolling his arms beside him as he walked forward, ignoring the death knight entirely.
[Divinity inside Balmond. Steal it. You're a semi god and you have the right to divine energy. Far more than him since he's considered a thief. Just willpower is enough to get it done but if you're having trouble, you can always take him to your spatial dimension.]
Keith raised his arm to face the death knight and a translucent green arm sprang out from the ground before grabbing the knight. The armor began to hiss and emit smoke as it melted at an extremely fast pace.
While this happened, Keith walked towards Balmond who raised his hand towards the sky.
'How is stealing his divine energy going to help me?'
[Remember when I told you that your body will need some time to get used to your awakening? You're not even a second level awakener right now but with the amount of divine energy that Balmond has… you can use it to stabilise your body, get to second stage of awakening, stabilise again and even attempt for a third awakening. That's how much divine energy that pig has.]
"Now that's what I call a bargain sale!" Keith exclaimed as a large war axe shot down towards Balmond, who caught it with his outstretched arm before roaring loudly.
Keith's expression turned serious as he took out his war god's shield. With a Halberd in one hand and a shield in another, he planted his foot on the ground before standing still, ready to take on his large opponent.
'He doesn't have his divinity, but he's still pretty damn strong. He's known to be the strongest among the five gods of this continent. Physically at least.' he thought as he stared right into Balmond's eyes which were emotionless and blank.
His eyes were as dead as a dead fish's, but his actions were completely different. He punched the ground with his free fist and then, jumped up high into the air as he grabbed his axe with both his hands.
"URAAAAAAAGHHHHH" he roared and came downwards, aiming his axe at Keith's head.
Keith on the other hand, silently watched the dumb attack.
After all, who in their right might would launch an attack that was extremely easy to dodge?
And just as he had thought, it was indeed pretty easy. A few steps to the side and Balmond completely missed him as he fell down.
"….. Did you lose access to your brain when you got turned into a zombie?" Keith asked, feeling curious as he placed his hand on Balmond's back, "Well, let's talk somewhere private instead."
