Chapter 285 - 285: Aunty Rebecca

"Ooookay…." Rebecca said as she looked at the duo while she took the hat from Miya's hands, "So is any of you going to explain what's going on? Because the last time I remembered, my brother did say that he loved someone and that was almost an year ago. There's no way a child can grow this much in such a short time."

Clara nodded, "Yeah, Keith adopted Miya. Her parents… well, they passed away early and her uncle sold her off to some shady people. Someone saved her and brought her to Keith, who decided to take her in as his daughter." she said and placed her hand on Amelia's shoulder.

"Both me and my friend here are deeply in love with your brother and even though we're not officially married yet, we just wanted to come and get your blessings since… you're his only family left."

Rebecca stared at them for a few seconds and then looked down at Miya who was looking at her nervously. She knelt on the floor so she was face to face with the child and put on the hat.

"How do I look?" she asked and smiled warmly as she held Miya's small hands.

Miya's eyes went wide and she grinned happily, "Yes!! Aunty looks pretty!"

"Oh you do have a way with words don't you?" Rebecca chuckled and headed over to a chair that was opposite to the couch before sitting down.

She looked at the two girls and smirked, a hint of pride showing in her face, "Well, I knew my brother had great looks but I never expected him to win the hearts of pretty girls like you two." she said and then looked at Clara, her eyes falling on the bountiful chest.

"Looks like he's a bit more open minded than I thought he was…. And I'm glad that he is."

Amelia smirked as she looped her arm around Clara's, "Actually, Clara here is his type. He directly told me that he prefers girls with… you know…" she said as she looked at Clara's chest, making her go red with embarrassment.

"Miya, why don't you go to the bedroom and play with Kris a little? He's your cousin." Rebecca said as she patted Miya's back, who excitedly ran over to the bedroom.

She then shifted her attention back to the two girls, "Well, let's put that aside and get to the matter at hand. You have my blessings. I'm actually just really happy that he's marrying someone. I was afraid he would die alone.

Though, I am pretty angry that he never told me about you two. Like, at all! He just appeared in front of me out of nowhere and just gave me some warnings before vanishing away. Gosh, he frustrates me so much sometimes!"

Clara raised her eyebrows and recalled Rebecca's actions when she saw them at the door. The way she looked around before telling them to head in quickly.

"What did he warn you about? Don't tell me you're in danger…"

Hearing this, Rebecca sighed before shaking her head, "Not really in any serious danger but more like there's someone who's been trying to make our lives bad. Well, me and Adam can handle all of that but I fear that if we do something suspicious, there might be far worse things waiting for us."

Amelia blinked twice and frowned, "Can you like… give us details?"

"Well… I guess so. It's the second prince. Keith told me that he's planted some people here to keep an eye on us, to gather information on whether Keith is close to me or not. Apparently, he wants to use us as a leverage against Keith if things go south.

His people threatened the landowner of our previous house, who then got us kicked out at the end. We tried to get a home at a better place than this, but everyone rejected us…

Adam told me that in the past few months, he's been seeing some familiar faces at certain places almost everyday and that is pretty suspicious don't you think? Well anyways, Keith told me to wait so that's exactly what I'll do for now."

"Ugh, this Zander never changes! A few years ago when he was trying to court me, he used the same tactic to figure out where I was going and what I was doing so he could magically appear in the same place I was. He disgusts me." Amelia cursed, muttering really fast as she stared at the tea table in front of her.

Clara patted her back, "Well, it looks like Keith has everything under control but I don't really understand why he's waiting it out instead of just threatening the second prince directly. Like, that's how he usually does stuff right?"

"Nah." Amelia said and shook her head, "Remember Timothy? Well, one night he told me how he got someone in his connections to rob the Sanders' businesses. He's been at it for the past month and guess what? The money that he used to break off your contract was partially paid with their own money.

Sometimes, he likes to take his sweet time to make people suffer but there's still some stuff that I don't really understand. For some reason, it looks like he's just ignoring Zander for now and this… yeah, this is really out of his character."

Rebecca watched them talk about her brother like they knew a lot about him and smiled to herself, feeling happy for him as it looked like the two of them really did care a lot about her quirky little brother.

"You know, ever since he was a child he's been a really indecisive person. He starts something and just jumps to other stuff that catches his fancy before he finishes the previous task. But recently… that has changed to an extent but I feel like he still has this quality in him.

Either that, or maybe he has something more important than dealing with the second prince at this moment." she said and the two girls let out a soft sigh.

They nodded, "Yeah… he's been… well, he actually just disappeared so maybe you're right on that part."
