God of Systems: Maker of Heroes and Villains
Chapter 270 - 270: A Straightforward Robbery

The next morning Keith silently walked out of the mansion and teleported close to a beggar on a random street.

The poor man stared at Keith as he left the place, wondering how he suddenly appeared out of thin air.

Keith on the other hand, walked over to the port that was nearby and looked at the three different boats for sale. They were larger than normal boats but weren't big enough to be called a ship.

He simply walked around and talked to the merchant so he could get a tour. Almost an hour of walking and listening later, Keith left without buying any of them.

Once he was in an empty alleyway, he disappeared and appeared in front of a random guy walking in one of the busy streets of one of the grand duke's territories. Without bothering with the bewildered guy, Keith walked over to a large warehouse looking place.

This large structure had multiple chimneys and the reason for this was really simple. It was because this place was where a lot of metal was being smelted.

Keith walked in and looked around to see hundreds of Iron ingots stacked neatly at one end of the huge room. There were multiple furnaces which were all manned by multiple people at the same time and even though Keith had walked in, no one really noticed him.

Not bothering with the regular workers, Keith turned to look at a man sitting in one corner which a huge belly and walked over.

"Hello, I'm here to make a bulk purchase." he said as he placed his hand on the table that was in front of the man.

The fatty looked up at Keith and grinned as he rubbed his hands together.

"Everything. But I would like to know about the prices first. In gold." Keith said as he looked down at the merchant.

"Hmm… you said bulk purchase so let's see… a hundred tons of iron for one kilogram of gold."

Keith nodded and thought for a bit before humming, "Hmm hmm hmmmm… let's see… what about iron ore instead?"

"Five hundred tons, same price."

'How much iron ore would i need to make a medium sized ship?' Keith asked his system while he nodded at the guy in front of him.

[Calculating.]

[Considering the ship's length as 100 m, the amount of iron needed would be 5000 tons.]

[Scanning the iron ore being sold at this warehouse.]

[Iron ore purity ranges from 60-69%. Considering minimum for this scenario.]

[The amount of iron ore that's needed to build a medium sized ships is approximately 9000 tons. There will be some extra left over.]

'Noted.' Keith responded mentally before he looked around. He then turned to look at the guy in front of him and asked him one simple question.

"How much iron ore can you sell right now? Same thing with iron itself."

The fatty raised his eyebrows as he looked at Keith's clothes. Completely plain ones that did not show off any information about his background.

'There are people who wear clothes like these but are incredibly rich. Let's just go with this and see where it takes me.' the fatty thought as he raised four fingers.

"Four thousand tons of ore but most of it is stored in the warehouses that are near the mining area. As for iron itself, I currently have five hundred tons."

Keith nodded and snapped his fingers, making multiple gold bars appear on the table out of thin air.

"Each one of these weigh one kilogram. Five for processed iron and eight gold ingots for the four thousand tons of ore. Just take me to the warehouses and I'll take care of the transportation myself."

The fatty stared at the gold, completely taken aback by such a huge volume before he looked up at Keith's face to see if he was pranking him or not.

Seeing the serious face on Keith's face, he nodded hastily and grabbed a small black slab before he began to use the gold bricks to make a scratch on it.

It was a commonly used stone that helped people see if the so-called gold was real gold or not since people could easily make fake gold and try to pass it off as real. This slab of stone was called the touchstone but some people also called it the black stone.

One by one, he made scratches and the gold bricks left thin streaks on the slab with all of them being identical.

"Alright… one last step sir. I hope you can wait…" he said as he grabbed a small pot and dipped a cloth into it before he let the wet part of the cloth slide over the stone where the streaks of gold were present on.

The streaks stayed as they were and the man smiled and looked up at Keith, "Okay, let's go."

Keith nodded and pointed at the pot, "Which acid do you use?"

"Uhh I don't really know sir. My father told me to use this and I simply follow his orders. We do have an alchemist who prepares this but I never really talked to him about this stuff. Hey, all that matters is if it works or not and it clearly works!" he exclaimed as he pointed a the touchstone.

"See these marks? If it's gold, they stay as they are but if it's something else, then it just disappears."

Keith nodded, "Yeah, I know. I just wanted to know which acid you use." he said and walked over to the place where the iron ingots were stored and placed his hand on them.

In just an instant, all of it disappeared and Keith turned around to look at the merchant, "Show me the way to your warehouses please."

"Sure sir, sure. Please follow me!" the fatty said hurriedly and rushed towards the door while he shouted, "Hey, make sure you work properly! I'll treat you guys to a lot of meat and expensive wine tonight! And some extra money to take back home!"

The workers cheered while their boss and Keith left the warehouse.

A few minutes later, Keith arrived at a large plain land that had four huge warehouses. He also saw multiple holes on the ground which he could tell were clearly dug to get access to the iron ores underground.

Keith didn't bother with them and simply followed fatty into the warehouses and emptied them clean. There were just two that had something in them while the other two were basically just empty.

"Sir, is this for the war? I heard from my father that there might be a war coming soon and that we can profit a lot from this."

Keith stared at him for a few seconds, which scared the merchant. But to his surprise, Keith actually answered him.

"One month. It'll start. There's things going on in the upper levels that are kinda unpredictable but it looks like someone else came here before me to buy stuff from you."

The fatty nodded, "Yes sir, they were the ones who cleared out one of the warehouses." he said and extended his hand forward, "It was a pleasure doing business with you sir."

"Yes, thank you." Keith said and nodded before asking him another question, "I need more iron. In fact, I'll need the same amount as what I bought from you right now. Any recommendation on where I can go?"

Fatty thought for a while before nodding, "There's three places in Baroma kingdom and these have the highest amount of iron. There's two more in the empire but the rate at which we dig out the ores is pretty slow compared to Baroma. As for Morose kingdom…

They have more than ten ores but all of them are pretty small. Three of these ores are almost completely mined out but with with six more remaining, their rate of mining is also the same as our empire.

Actually, not just mining but also processing. Baroma kingdom is way ahead of us in both these things."

"Well… I kinda knew that but I wanted something I didn't know. Oh well, thank you anyways." he said and before the fatty could even say a thing, he vanished.

He directly appeared in Baroma kingdom, behind an old lady who was trying to sell vegetables. He walked away from her and then got into an inn before he lie down on the bed.

With a snap of his finger, two people popped up in front of him.

"Juliet… Ken… actually, I don't think I even need Ken for this." He said as he saw them, but then a new idea popped up into his mind as he grinned, "Nahhh, you're very important for this mission."

Juliet frowned as she looked at Keith, "Can you just tell us why you summoned us?"

"We gonna steal a lot of stuff tonight. Julie, can you send over a shadow in that direction?" he asked as he pointed to the north-east, "Need five shadows, with each one waiting in one of the warehouses. There are five in total."

Juliet nodded and got to work as she sent out 5 extremely thin thread like black things in the direction at which Keith had just pointed at.

Keith saw this and turned to look at Ken, "You're basically unkillable so you're going to take a lot of hits tonight. I hope you're fine with that."

"I'm not unkillable… Anyways, as long as you can promise to save me before I actually die, I'm willing to do it. What do you need?"

"A straight forward robbery. Get into the palace's treasury and all you need to do is touch the items there." Keith said with a wide grin on his face.
