Geometric Mage: First Spell, Circle
Chapter 44: Killing the Boss

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Killing the Boss

Unlike fire, which exploded without issue and required no control, earth spells demanded active control. Lian had discovered this when he summoned the stone block as a shield. It required mana to maintain its active form.

Shaking his head and giving himself a light slap on the face, Freddy charged toward the impaled monster, his resolve hardened by the opportunity Lian had created.

His legs moved in a precise pattern as his hands gripped the greatsword. The runes on it glowed with brilliant green, a sign that whatever attack Freddy was about to unleash would be powerful.

But just as Freddy began to approach the monster, Lian lost control of the spell.

The stone spike that had pierced the worm vanished into blue particles, dissolving like a fleeting illusion, as the monster regained its freedom. A powerful roar shook the air, and the blood coagulated, ready to return to its body to heal the wound.

But at that very moment, Freddy arrived on the scene. His greatsword raised high, his muscles tensed. With a leap, the man landed precisely where the spike had pierced the monster’s body, his timing impeccable.

"Take this!" Just before the blood could reconnect with the worm’s body, Freddy’s sword sliced through the creature with terrifying power, a decisive blow that carried the weight of their survival.

An illusory green blade emerged from the greatsword, cutting through the worm’s entire body.

The cut was clean; the monster’s body split into two units as the blood that was about to reconnect with the wound lost its effect, exploding into the air.

Freddy was drenched in black blood, but he did not care. A triumphant smile hung on his face as he watched the two ends of the worm writhe in their final moments of life, a hard-won victory against a formidable foe.

"Kid, well done!" he said, giving a thumbs-up.

Lian had his hands on his knees, breathing heavily. His eyes were tired, but the smile on his face said it all as he looked at Freddy giving him the thumbs-up.

They had done it!

This time, his contribution was essential to the victory against the Silver 1 worm. He was satisfied with himself.

"Damn it," he hissed as he turned, searching for something—no, someone. "Seline!"

Despite his exhaustion, Lian rushed toward the girl, lifting her from the ground. She had fainted, the pain unbearable.

Meanwhile, Freddy had turned toward the two ends of the monster.

"They don’t stop writhing, huh?" he murmured softly as he approached slowly.

"Wait a minute!" he hissed, stopping in his tracks. "The monster is still alive!!" he shouted in terror as he observed the pierced sections of the two units recovering at an astonishing speed, a horrifying regeneration that defied their hard-fought triumph.

Hearing the shout, Lian turned sharply, only to witness something shocking.

The two units had regenerated, each moving independently as they attacked Freddy!

The segment with the head had its mouth open, ready to unleash a powerful jet of acidic blood, while the other end sprouted countless holes, poised to launch blood needles , a dual assault that promised relentless destruction.

"It’s not over yet!" Freddy shouted before positioning his greatsword in front of his body to defend against the attack, his stance a final stand against an unyielding enemy.

But just when Freddy thought the end was coming, a thunderous roar from a clear sky tore through the air, a deafening blast that seemed to shake the heavens.

The worm, which moments ago was about to unleash a torrent of blood from one end and hundreds of needles from the other, stopped abruptly. A lightning bolt had pierced through it, its massive body coursing with electricity, causing it to convulse involuntarily.

Widening his eyes at the absurdity of the situation, Freddy did not let the opportunity slip.

With his sword pointed forward and his legs ready to sprint, the man charged with a burst toward the segment with the mouth.

"This time, I’ll slice you to pieces!" he shouted as he used his sword to unleash countless slashes, each strike a whirlwind of precision and fury.

The monster did not have time to comprehend what had happened before its head was obliterated by Freddy’s explosive rage, reduced to a mangled wreck under the onslaught.

From a distance, Lian watched the scene in shock. He had believed Freddy was done for, but at the last moment, a massively powerful lightning bolt struck the worm, interrupting its abilities.

"Huh?" Jolted by the intense roar, Seline awoke from her unconscious state. Observing her body, the girl noticed someone was holding her up.

Her cheeks flushed red instantly as she glanced at the boy holding her, only to see his incredulous expression as he looked ahead, his eyes wide with disbelief at the unfolding chaos.

Curious, Seline turned, only to see the worm, split in two, writhing unnaturally.

"What the hell!?" she hissed, only to see Freddy charging toward one of the two pieces of the monster and swinging his sword wildly, his attacks relentless in their ferocity.

"Damn it!" Lian murmured, letting go of Seline as he stood up. In his mind, a circle had already formed.

With a single thought, a series of concentric circles took shape, and seconds later, a massive fireball shot from his hands toward the other part of the monster.

"Ignis Arde, Ignis Globus!"

The worm, now recovered from the shock of the lightning, began moving like a rabid dog toward the man tearing apart its main body.

But at that moment, a super-powerful fireball struck it with speed.

BOOM—

Intense smoke followed the explosion, with blood and flesh flying everywhere.

Freddy was sent flying, landing several meters away, his body tumbling through the sand.

"Damn it, kid," Freddy shouted as he got to his feet. "Decided to get revenge?"

Lian did not respond; he was focused on launching more fireballs at the monster, his mind locked in a singular purpose.

One after another, three more concentrated fireballs landed successfully on the worm’s body.
