Chapter 104: Raiding the Burg 5

"You are uglier than a Thrall."

The Crimson Knight seemed to have understood what Kaiju had said as he suddenly roared at the top of his lungs, bringing gusts of winds, accompanied by the Mana Aura.

Kaiju did not hesitate anymore to bring out the fruits and ate them, giving some to Snow as well. Kaiju instantly perceived the power coursing through his body, but it quickly diminished as well under the oppression of the Mana Aura.

Kaiju continued to assess the oppressive effects of the Mana Aura. He distressingly discovered it even affected the mana flow on his body, affecting the efficiency of his magic skill and even the activation time.

It seemed like Kaiju received a lot of debuffs. However, Kaiju was not pessimistic, as he placed his entire concentration on the Crimson Knight.

He instructed Snow and Little Gorilla, "Now, let us fight like what we practice. Also, save the bloodline awakening, it is best to activate it in our fight against Vladislaus. Now, go!"

Little Gorilla leapt forward, not using blink for mana reserves. At the same time, as his face turned ugly, he activated the Zealot’s Protection, depressingly discovered its durability was reduced. Faced against the Crimson Knight, who leapt towards him as well, he was filled with trepidation if he could even withstand the attacks of the Crimson Knight, without the bloodline awakening.

Nevertheless, he only had to follow his master’s command.

"If you can evade, then do so. We’ll try to intercept his attacks and lessen your burden."

Little Gorilla nodded frantically, focusing on the Crimson Knight, who was about to swing his ax.

The double-headed ax was almost the same size as him, making him feel terrified when he glanced at it moving at a rapid speed. His skill, Heavenly Devotion, activated when his master arrived behind the back of the Crimson Knight.

{Heavenly Devotion (Rare)

Description: The gorilla’s newfound faith drives him to protect his Master at all costs, increasing his combat capabilities when defending Kaiju.

Effect: Gains a 20% boost in speed, strength, and agility when Kaiju is in danger.}

The Little Gorilla took a deep breath, staring at the welcoming double-headed ax. He would not be surprised if it would even cut him in half despite wearing heavy armor. He did not have a shield–his idea was that if his staff, having practiced sets of defensive techniques using the staff, was useless, then it was even more so if it was a shield.

He had a feeling that his master would magically stop the double-headed ax from severing him.

Kaiju, meanwhile, understood Little Gorilla’s worries. After all, just like what Qwanisha had said, the biggest cons of the battle formation was facing a powerful enemy. Once Little Gorilla failed to anchor the enemy, then attacking would become more difficult, eventually leading to their downfall.

Hence, Kaiju was now activating his Silent Kill, providing him vision about the vital parts of the Crimson Knights. It was pointing at the joints, where heavy armor failed to cover, so he, instead of thrusting his daggers, slashed the Bloodthorn and Frostfang dagger simultaneously.

At the same time, Snow finally made her move. As always, she summoned several sharp icicles filled with venom and hurled them towards the unprotected head of the Crimson Knight.

Looking at Little Gorilla’s perspective, Kaiju and Snow’s attacks would proceed smoothly and the double-headed ax that was about to sever him would halt.

Hence, instead of trying to defend, he aimed to bore the impact, if Kaiju and Snow failed to stop the ax, through his heavy armor and counter-attacked with his magic skill, Holy Fang Strike.

Now, three deadly attacks assaulted the Crimson Knights, and facing them would certainly injure him. However, suddenly, the Crimson Knights blinked away and disappeared, stunning them.

Kaiju was not surprised, however, as he instantly turned around, seeing the double-headed ax coming towards him. The momentum had been built as it was supposedly landed to Little Gorilla and now it was about to cut him in a half. Kaiju snorted and blinked away, failing the Crimson Knight’s attempt.

Kaiju narrowed his eyes, staring at the Crimson Knight. He perceived his Bloodthorn and Frostfang Dagger connected, but before it was able to penetrate deeper, the Crimson Knight blinked away.

The Crimson Knight’s regenerative ability was more astonishing than the Bloodbound, as it quickly sealed the further implications of the Frostfang dagger’s effects. However, Kaiju was certain that the joints particularly on each of his broad shoulders should be disabled.

Yet, he was deeply surprised the Crimson Knight was able to easily move his upper limbs, even finding no difficulty in carrying the double-headed ax, which should be as heavy as the gargantuan tree–though exaggerated, just the wind the double-headed ax carried alone whenever it moved confirmed Kaiju’s assumption.

"As expected, even though he lacked intelligence, he has the instinct of the beasts. This battle will be more difficult than before." Kaiju assumed.

He turned to Snow and Little Gorilla and instructed them, "I believe our attack earlier won’t work twice on him anymore. We have to try a different approach. Let us try the three on one, first variation."

The three on one consisted of many variations, depending on the situation. They were more familiar with the first variation, where they would attack simultaneously, but now, in close-combat. So, Snow even has to bite the Crimson Knight.

Although it was a dangerous approach, it worked better, especially to the individual enemy.

Little Gorilla and Snow nodded, as their faces turned grave. Kaiju did not have time to care what they felt right now, as he instantly rushed forward, not intending to keep using blink because of its mana cost.

Snow slithered swiftly as well, while Little Gorilla bitterly had to keep up with their speed while running. Thankfully, he could activate his blink as the Crimson Knight also helped him cover the distance, quickly appearing in front of him.

Little Gorilla activated the Holy Fang Strike once again, while Snow the Ice Venom Fang, targeting the neck. Simultaneously, Kaiju activated the Dagger Weave to increase the attack speed of the Silent Skill, targeting the joints on the Crimson Knight’s lower limbs.

The Crimson Knight, perceiving the danger, roared at the top of his lungs, attempting to stun and halt the enemies’ attacks.

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work Kaiju as it only activated the passive effects of his Pain Tolerance more...
