Chapter 1187: Chapter 1187: I Want to Change My Mother_1
Purple Summers was seized and brought here, always trying to remain calm, to stay composed.
However, the long awaited rescue just got easily dismissed, and she still had to ridiculously play house with this one person and one ghost!
The obstinacy of Nathaniel Summers and Cherry’s irrationality, both left Purple seething with anger!
She was uncontrollably furious!
All her pent-up rage came bursting out—
"Nathaniel will never like you! No one will like you! Without this body, what are you left with?! Cruelty, pretense, childishness, and selfishness! You’ll never be liked by anyone!"
Cherry stood there, frozen, staring at Purple with her eyes quickly reddening.
Purple scoffed, "Feeling wronged? Just a couple of words and you feel aggrieved? What about those people you killed? What about the nurse you possessed? Does she feel wronged? What about her parents, her husband, her children, do they feel wronged?!!"
"Suzanne!" Alexander bursting out from the basement stopped her.
Purple didn’t want to look at him anymore, she turned around angrily and walked into her room.
Cherry pursed her lips, watching the retreating figure of Purple as she returned to her room, then, after a long while, she slowly walked up to Nathaniel and buried herself in his embrace, crying.
Nathaniel stroked her head gently.
Cherry muttered, "I want a different mom."
Nathaniel was silent for a moment, giving a soft sigh, "Cherry, we had an agreement."
Cherry didn’t speak again.
...
Purple, back in her room, felt overwhelmingly vexed, looking at the rabbit lying on the bed, she could almost imagine how the two officers had been fooled away.
Scammer!
Alexander was a madman, and that ghost was a swindler!
In a fit of pique, she yanked the rabbit off the bed and threw it into the pile of dolls by the wall, then slumped down, resting her forehead in her hand as she pondered what to do next.
Alexander walked in, looked at her, "You shouldn’t have spoken to her like that."
Purple sneered with laughter.
Looking up straight into Alexander’s eyes, "Oh, so now I’m supposed to apologize to her? Want me to coddle her every day like you do, to play their little game of playing mom and dad and baby dolls?"
"I don’t expect you to apologize," Alexander said indifferently, "but be more careful with your words next time. You know she has a temper, and if she decides to kill, I won’t be able to save you."
Purple scoffed and said, "Should I be thanking you, then? Appreciate your kind warning? Alexander, isn’t this exactly what you hope for? For me to die, for Alexander Summers to suffer eternally—you’ll soon get your wish!"
Alexander’s gaze grew darker, his expression cold.
Purple continued, "So what if she does have the urge to kill? Don’t you always praise her for being smart? If she’s really that smart, she should know letting me go secretly is smarter than killing me. That way, she can remove the thorn in her side without earning your resentment, right?"
Cherry wouldn’t kill Purple.
Even if she wanted Purple dead, she wouldn’t let Purple die by her own hand.
Because Nathaniel had feelings for Purple, whether those feelings were love or hate, he would never allow someone to end Purple’s life so easily!
Of course, if Cherry were as simple as a child, she wouldn’t consider all this, but Purple was certain, she wasn’t a real child!
Alexander looked at her with a dark expression.
After a long pause, he silently sat on the bed, seemingly in deep thought.
Purple remained silent, still with anger in her eyes.
"Cherry is a child lost to miscarriage," Alexander suddenly spoke, "The family preferred boys over girls, and upon learning the baby in the womb was a girl, they hesitated and didn’t want to keep her, so they had an abortion at seven months.
The old man from Ghost Village often went to the clinic to collect such formed fetuses, to refine into little ghosts, to craft curses, burn charms, ’burning corpse with dark fire,’ it would take months to create a single ghost, and Cherry was the smartest among them.
You might think playing mom and dad is a child’s game, but Cherry doesn’t see it that way, she’s serious about it, she’s always longed for parents who would love her, who wouldn’t abandon her.
So... don’t say those things again."
