Chapter 1181: Chapter 1181: Luring the Ghost _1

Once they started arguing, it was hysterical.

Cherry would scream and shout, tear up the fairy tale books in her hands, smash the glass cups, and break everything she could see!

At such times, Cherry was terrifying!

Without the innocent exterior, her face was filled with ferocious rage, her eyes radiating a bone-chilling malice, as if she was driven by a madness that desired to destroy everything.

Even Purple Summers, who was an outsider, couldn’t help but feel a chill down her spine, with goosebumps crawling up her back...

This ghost was uncontrollable—that was the most terrifying thing about it.

And Nathaniel Summers, faced with the out-of-control Cherry, always resorted to cold violence.

He wouldn’t hit or scold, nor would he punish; he would just indifferently watch Cherry vent and then head straight back to his room, ignoring her.

After Cherry had her tantrums, she would always look for him.

Crying outside his bedroom door, she didn’t dare to enter, just standing there shedding tears like a child who had been abandoned.

Purple Summers didn’t know how such a twisted and pathological relationship had formed between the living and the ghost, but she suspected she might be able to use it to her advantage...

...

The night was silent and still.

Around midnight, a dog from somewhere in the village went mad, barking incessantly. Accompanied by another dog’s roaring response, the two seemed to be fighting, causing a terrible ruckus.

Because it was night, the noise was particularly clear, waking up Purple Summers.

She lay still with her eyes closed.

Cherry, sleeping beside her, turned over, curling up her small body and trembling non-stop.

Purple Summers was puzzled and wanted to ask her what was wrong, but after thinking it over, she decided to remain silent...

After a while, faint sobbing sounds came from under the blankets, like those of an infant, or perhaps a cat.

In the pitch-black night, hearing such sounds was truly horrifying.

Purple Summers couldn’t help but wonder: Could she be afraid of dogs?

But the barking was so distant; was it enough to scare her to this extent?

After crying for a while, Cherry quietly got out of bed and ran out of the room.

Purple Summers heard her go to the next room, her cries mingling with calls for Nathaniel’s name... After she called out several times, the door opened, then after a while, it closed again.

There was no more sound.

Purple Summers lay with her eyes open, staring into the darkness, and didn’t fall asleep again.

So, that’s how it was...

That’s how it was...

...

The next day, Purple Summers got up late.

Cherry sat on the living room’s cartoon floor mat, playing with a puzzle, while Nathaniel went to the kitchen to reheat the cold breakfast, everything as usual.

Purple Summers observed the unharmed Cherry and suddenly realized she had made a mistake.

She had overestimated the enemy.

Because the enemy had committed serious crimes and set up numerous traps, wearing an innocent skin yet possessing power beyond normal people, she had been terrified and subconsciously thought the opponent was very strong.

But upon reflection... perhaps she should treat the enemy as a child.

"Cherry," Purple Summers called out, "do you like Nathaniel?"

Cherry looked up, her face a bit confused but she replied as if it was a matter of course, "Of course I like him."

Purple Summers asked, "And does he like you?"

Cherry furrowed her brow as if she was thinking hard, "He should like me..."

Purple Summers smiled, "He doesn’t like you; he likes me."

Cherry was first stunned, then her little face slowly darkened.

"Are you going to throw a tantrum?" Purple Summers kept smiling, "He hates it when you throw tantrums, don’t you know? Every time you have a tantrum, he doesn’t want to pay attention to you."

Cherry pursed her lips tightly, staring unblinkingly at Purple Summers, her eyes reddening, whether from anger or grievance, it was hard to tell.

If she hadn’t known the other party was a malevolent ghost, Purple Summers certainly would have felt pity, thinking she was bullying a child.

She coaxed gently, continuing, "You should let me go, then he’ll forget about me, he will only like you after that, love only you forever, but as long as I’m here... Cherry, as long as I’m by his side for one day, he’ll only like me, understand?"
