Chapter 1159: Chapter 1159 Baby_1

Purple Summers paused.

The girl’s pupils were unnaturally black, set against her snow-white and delicate skin. She should have looked pretty and cute, but upon closer inspection, an inexplicably eerie feeling emerged from her beauty.

This little girl made Purple Summers feel uncomfortable.

Ever since she had volunteered at the orphanage, Purple Summers had developed a deep affection for children, and now that she was pregnant herself, she would pay extra attention to little ones.

But this little girl in front of her...

"Auntie, you’re carrying a baby," Cherry’s gaze fell upon Purple Summers’ belly, which was more than seven months along.

Purple Summers gently caressed her stomach and hummed in acknowledgment.

Cherry pursed her lips and said softly, "Is it like this with all parents? They raise children only to no longer want them."

"How could that be..." Purple Summers laughed off the remark, "Your dad was just talking in the heat of the moment. Every parent loves their child very much. You ran away; your dad must be worried sick. He’s probably out looking for you right now."

"Will he?" Cherry pouted, looking unhappy. "We used to talk about everything, but now he doesn’t tell me anything. He speaks less and less as if he’s guarding against me. I feel like he doesn’t want to bother with me at all!"

Purple Summers fell silent, reflecting on how usually it seemed to be the fathers who wanted to communicate with their daughters, while the daughters, typically, because of a generation gap, wouldn’t care to engage with their fathers.

Then Cherry asked her, "Would you do that? Not want your own child?"

"Of course not," Purple Summers stroked her belly tenderly, a warm smile on her face. "This is my treasure; I couldn’t bear to not want it."

"It is your treasure," Cherry mused, then suddenly reached out to gently touch Purple Summers’ belly.

Purple Summers’ brow furrowed, instinctively disliking this gesture, but looking down at the child with her distinctively black and white eyes filled with a bit of curiosity, a bit of longing, Purple Summers didn’t stop her.

...It was still very uncomfortable.

Cherry’s hand was very cold. Perhaps because she had been in the rain, it was not only chilly but also damp.

Purple Summers wanted to pull away, but Cherry had already drawn back her hand, her young face momentarily showing disgust before it vanished.

It was so quick that Purple Summers doubted her own eyes.

"The baby in your belly is a boy," Cherry said.

"Is that so?" Purple Summers smiled and asked, "I wonder if you’re guessing right."

Cherry didn’t speak, her head lowered, her face devoid of any expression.

Purple Summers took one glance at her and said nothing more, feeling that this little girl was a bit strange.

The car glided smoothly on the road, with rain strands delicately dancing in the wind.

The lakeside villa was faintly visible among the weeping willow’s green branches, its rooftop vibrant in color after being washed by the rain, visible from afar.

The little girl beside her suddenly said, "I want to get off."

Purple Summers was startled and looked at her.

Cherry, with a tense expression, stared ahead and repeated, "I want to get off!"

"But it’s still raining outside..."

Before Purple Summers could finish, Cherry suddenly pounded the back of the seat in front of her, bursting out in an uncontrollable rage, "Stop the car! I want to get off! I want to get off!!!"—

She seemed to collapse all at once!

Purple Summers, protective of her belly, was horrified, completely clueless as to why the girl had suddenly gone mad!

The driver, concerned for Purple Summers’ well-being, dared not slam on the brakes, so he simply slowed down gradually.

However, before the car came to a full stop, the little girl pushed open the door and charged out! She fell onto the road, then scrambled up and ran away, stumbling as if escaping!

The wet road was slippery, and the small figure ran swiftly, soon disappearing into the veil of rain.

Purple Summers watched for a long time with a heart still racing, filled with doubts.

"Madam?" the driver called from the front.

Purple Summers came back to her senses, exhaled softly and said, "Let’s go."

The car restarted its journey, heading for the villa.
