Chapter 1132: Chapter 1132: In the Clouds and Mist_1

Zara Jameson leaned on Jane McCain’s shoulder and cried her eyes out.

The emotions she had been suppressing for so long overwhelmed her, and as she wept, she intermittently shared her troubles.

Jane McCain listened in a daze, grasping the gist of it—all of Zara Jameson’s words seemed to echo one sentiment: Ryan Wesley didn’t love her.

But how was that possible?

Back when they were in Grey, Ryan Wesley had been silently pursuing Zara Jameson—it was undeniable!

This confusing situation left Jane McCain at a loss for what comforting words to say.

When Purple Summers arrived at the hospital, Zara Jameson had already stopped crying, but her eyes were red, clearly showing signs of tears.

Purple Summers instinctively thought the child was gone, only to hear Jane McCain say, "Zara’s fine, the doctor said it’s a case of pseudocyesis due to psychological stress, and the blood... it was because her period started."

Purple Summers was shocked, then looking again at Zara Jameson and noticing her expression wasn’t right, felt even more suspicious and alarmed.

Jane McCain gave her a meaningful look, "Let’s talk about it when we get back."

So, Purple Summers suppressed her full belly of doubts, telling them, "Ryan Wesley just called me, said he will call again tonight. He hasn’t had an accident, he’s just been too busy and the communication over there is bad, that’s why there hasn’t been any news for a while."

Zara Jameson smiled, feigning ease, "That’s good, as long as he’s ok. Let’s go back and wait for his call then."

Purple Summers and Jane McCain exchanged looks, both remaining silently speechless.

By the time they returned to the island, the sun had set, leaving only the red glow of the sunset on the water and the beautiful clouds across the sky.

Zara Jameson, feeling unwell, went to the restroom.

Jane McCain took the opportunity to relay the whole conversation she had heard to Purple Summers, seeking advice.

"I’m so confused by the two of them. From what Zara said, even though Ryan Wesley likes her, it’s not actually her that he likes. He loves her resemblance to the traditional classic beauty, but not her." Jane McCain was in a quandary, "Did I explain that clearly? Do you understand what I’m saying?"

Purple Summers was speechless, then finally said, "Isn’t this just overthinking things...?"

"It’s much more serious than overthinking," Jane McCain responded, "She’s so set on proving that she’s not a traditionally conservative woman, she almost forced herself on Ryan Wesley! God... I really want to ask Ryan Wesley how he feels."

"Stop it," Purple Summers chuckled, her tense emotions breaking down at Jane McCain’s words, "We can’t meddle in this mess. Let’s wait for Ryan Wesley’s call, and then find a chance to subtly bring it up."

"I know, I won’t interfere," Jane McCain sighed deeply, "But what exactly is wrong with Zara? If I hadn’t heard it from her own lips, I would not have believed it..."

Purple Summers was equally baffled, "I don’t understand either..."

They say that bystanders have a clearer view, but when it came to the young couple of Zara Jameson and Ryan Wesley, Purple Summers, as a bystander, was just as lost in the clouds.

...

At eight in the evening, the three of them gathered in the living room to watch the news about disaster relief.

Zara Jameson received Ryan Wesley’s call.

Purple Summers and Jane McCain kept their eyes on the TV but their ears were all perked up.

After listening for a while, they couldn’t discern any hidden meanings. Zara Jameson spoke calmly, telling Ryan Wesley about the pseudocyesis, then reminding him to be cautious outside, she was doing well in Pearlpoint, and he should not worry, etc.

It was a completely normal conversation, and Zara Jameson even seemed somewhat happy.

If they were getting along so well, why would Zara Jameson have those thoughts?

"Purple," Zara Jameson called Purple Summers and handed her the phone, "He said he needs to speak with you."

Purple Summers came back to her senses and took Zara Jameson’s phone.

"I’ve reached out to uncle; he’s on his way to the hospital now. Once he’s made arrangements, you can contact my uncle directly, communication there is normal," Ryan Wesley said.
