Chapter 1123: Chapter 1123: Sticky Rice Wrapped Around Fried Dough Stick_1
Purple Summers received an unexpected call from Zara Jameson before her departure to Pearlpoint City.
"Purple, can I stay with you for a while?"
Purple was truly stunned for a good moment.
Zara Jameson was a typical well-read and sensible lady who least liked to trouble others. Her sudden request was really odd.
But the voice on the phone was very calm, and Purple could not detect anything amiss.
"Zara... I won’t be staying in Kingsley recently; I’m planning to move to Pearlpoint for some time," Purple tentatively said, "Why do you suddenly want to come to Kingsley?"
Zara however fell silent.
As Purple wondered, she heard Zara speak again, "Then, can I go to Pearlpoint with you?"
"Of course, you can..." Purple would not reject a friend and asked with some worry, "Are you alone? I can send someone to pick you up."
"No need, just tell me when, and I’ll make my own way there," said Zara.
Purple found it strange, but judging from Zara’s tone, she seemed not to want to discuss it further, so it was improper to ask too deeply.
Zara then asked, "How many months are you now? How do you feel?"
Speaking of her pregnancy experience, Purple had a lot to say, "It’s just over four months, but I always feel hungry. I used to eat three meals a day, now even five meals a day seem insufficient."
Zara, hearing this, laughed over the phone, "Which five meals?"
"In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there’s afternoon tea and a late-night snack too."
"Hahaha, such a pregnant woman with a good appetite. I’ll bring you some Clearwater snacks when I come; what would you like to eat?"
"Hmm, hmm, hmm... Rice dumplings with fried dough sticks!"
"Okay, wait for me!"
After such a happy conversation, they hung up the phone. Only afterward did Purple belatedly remember Zara’s peculiar request.
However, Zara’s voice sounded very relaxed on the phone; surely nothing was wrong.
These days, Purple was becoming increasingly lethargic. It was not the body that was lazy, but the mind that did not want to be active, growing less and less willing to think.
She couldn’t help but reflect on herself, spending her days eating and sleeping like this, and after giving birth, she feared she might turn into an idiot? No wonder the old saying goes "pregnancy brain lasts three years," there seems to be some truth to it...
The next day, Purple Summers and Alexander Summers packed their bags and set off for Pearlpoint.
To be on the safe side, they didn’t take a plane but took the high-speed train and then a yacht—
The island had already changed a lot, the villa was originally surrounded by open grass, but now one side was cordoned off into an area, fitted with rubber mats, swings, seesaws, slides, and a Ferris wheel, as well as a round sandbox, looking just like a small children’s playground.
Purple had long known that Alexander had made such a place, but she was still surprised when she saw it with her own eyes.
Just as she was about to get a closer look, a shadow flew across the sky, circling over her head, accompanied by the harsh caws of a crow.
Purple was immediately surprised, "Tiny?!"
She turned to Alexander, "Did you bring Tiny here? What about Cleo, is she here too?"
Alexander nodded, his smile somewhat smug.
Tiny landed at Purple’s feet, flapping its wings excitedly and rubbing its little head against Purple’s ankle, showing its affection.
Purple picked it up, happily petting the tuft of white hair on its head, feeling immensely nostalgic.
"Why didn’t you consult with me?" Although Purple was happy, she couldn’t help but chide Alexander, "They were doing fine in Clearwater, and suddenly moving to Pearlpoint, the climate is different, won’t they be uncomfortable? What if they get sick? When we go back to Kingsley for the start of the school year, will they stay behind? Who will take care of them on the island?"
Her words clearly contained dissatisfaction.
Alexander had originally wanted to surprise her, and now his face turned green from being nagged.
"Why are you worrying so much, if they’re pets, they should be by their owner’s side, what kind of pets are they if they can’t accompany their owner? Might as well go to a zoo and watch gorillas!"
