The two officers exchanged a glance, placing the notebook they were holding onto the coffee table and opening it—

"Please take a look at this," the officer said as he brought up a video and pressed play. "This was captured in the corridor outside the forensic lab at three in the morning."

In the video, the door to the autopsy room suddenly opened, and a young woman stepped out, walking steadily away.

The overall quality of the video was quite blurry, but the dark hole on the woman’s forehead was distinctly visible.

Alexander Summers’s face turned grim.

"The criminal’s body was personally escorted back to the station by us, and the forensic doctor confirmed death without a doubt, but..."

Alexander Summers looked up and glanced at them, "If the criminal has escaped, what was the press conference this morning all about?"

Alexander Summers remained silent for a while, then stood up, "Please wait a moment."

He went upstairs to his room, took a handgun from a drawer, weighed it in his hand, then came back downstairs to the living room.

"When you shot her, did you notice anything suspicious, or anything out of the ordinary?" the officer asked. "If you have any clues, please be sure to tell us."

The two officers looked disappointed.
