Chapter 33: Chapter 33: As Boring as Wood (5)

Under him, Qiao Mo trembled lightly. Despite her efforts to endure it, a stream of clear tears uncontrollably flowed down from her tightly closed eyes.

Fu Nancheng only felt a slight bitterness between his lips and teeth. Raising his eyes, he noticed the tear stains on her cheek, and feeling a bit dazed, his heart was filled with discomfort.

He let go of her chin harshly, "You really are as boring as a block of wood!"

An ominous voice sounded by her ear. Qiao Mo opened her misty eyes and didn’t move for a long time.

Looking at the woman on the bed with a gloomy gaze, Fu Nancheng stood up with some agitation, walked to the sofa and lit a cigarette, drawing hard on it, with a faint sense of loneliness swirling around him.

Qiao Mo wrapped herself in the blanket and crawled out of bed, still a bit dazed.

Fu Nancheng raised his hand to turn on the television and said nothing more, while Qiao Mo also wrapped in the blanket leaned against the headboard, likewise staying silent.

For a while, only the broadcast of the morning news on TV filled the room, the atmosphere oppressively tense and terrifying.

Approaching eleven o’clock, Qiao Mo felt unbearable discomfort in her stomach.

She had hardly eaten anything from last night until now.

Looking down at her own disheveled pajamas, her gaze landed on the royal blue robe at the edge of the bed.

Raising her eyes to look at the man sitting on the sofa, seeing that he was not paying attention to her, she blushed and tentatively extended a leg from the blanket, inching towards the edge of the bed.

Noticing the movement, Fu Nancheng frowned slightly.

With a slight glance to the side, Qiao Mo was startled and quickly retracted her leg, lowering her head and tucking it against her knees, remaining motionless.

After waiting for a full two minutes to confirm there was no further movement, Qiao Mo finally lifted her head again.

Glancing once more at the man on the sofa, Qiao Mo then stretched out her leg again, continuously making efforts towards the robe at the edge of the bed.

This time, Fu Nancheng did not turn his head, only slightly moved the wine glass in his hand.

Qiao Mo considered her legs not to be short, but the bed was remarkably large, forcing her to inch downward little by little, while staying alert to the man on the sofa from time to time.

Fu Nancheng never spoke, his gaze always remained on the wine glass he held.

On the crystal-clear square wine glass, under the warm light, was reflected a slender figure wrapped in a blanket, crawling steadily downward from the head of the bed.

A long, snow-white jade leg reached out from under the blanket, with five translucent and delicate toes playfully wiggling, trying to hook the royal blue robe.

Perhaps her toes were too adorable, because with just a little effort, the satin-faced royal blue robe was hooked, moving inch by inch on the bed as her jade leg contracted.

Fu Nancheng’s gaze softened a bit, but he still remained silent.

Finally having the robe in hand, Qiao Mo gently sighed in relief. Seeing that he was still staring at the TV without any sign of turning his eyes, she quickly draped the robe over herself, covering the partly exposed skin.

After putting on the robe, Qiao Mo slipped into her slippers and quietly tiptoed towards the kitchen, still keeping a cautious eye on the man on the sofa.

Fu Nancheng slowly lifted his eyes and met her still reddened gaze.

Qiao Mo’s steps faltered slightly, and she took a couple of steps back, still remaining silent.

Seeing her actions, his gaze turned even colder.

Qiao Mo’s heart trembled slightly, instinctively avoiding his gaze, and completely retreating into the kitchen.

It wasn’t until she evaded his line of sight that she breathed a sigh of relief, placing one hand on her painfully uncomfortable stomach while opening the refrigerator with the other.

The refrigerator was not lacking in items, but most were time-consuming and complicated. She didn’t feel like bothering with them and decided to just cook some noodles—quick and convenient.
