The guys argued into the night, but I stopped listening to them.

They might not want to get some sleep before taking off tomorrow morning, but I needed it. Maybe instead of Snow White, I was Sleepy.

Chuckling at that thought, I leaned up to whisper in Si Dong’s ear. "Want to tuck me into bed?"

I felt his body stiffen under me... and other parts of him, too.

Nodding his head, he stood up and walked away with me still in his arms.

"Are you sure that this is what you want?" he asked when we had made it into my closet space. He laid me down gently on my blankets and walked around the room to find the pink one Bain An Sha had left over by the bed.

"You sleeping next to me? Or me going with you all tomorrow?" I asked, a slight smirk on my face.

"Both," he replied. But instead of his usual, carefree smile, he looked at me seriously. "I will do whatever you want me to do. You just need to let me know."

"Get under the covers, first of all," I smiled. "And I will be going with you tomorrow. No matter what happens, I want us to be together at the end."

Si Dong got under the covers and pulled me onto his chest. "Then that is what will happen."

---

"You can’t leave!" A voice screamed, waking me up the next morning.

"Someone hit the alarm," groaned Si Dong as he pulled me back down into his arms.

"I think it is a person, not an alarm," I grunted, refusing to open my eyes to see what was going on.

"Makes it even easier," smirked Si Dong. I didn’t even need to see it to know that it was on his face. "Not to mention more enjoyable."

"Bah," I grunted again, trying to squirm my way out of Si Dong’s arms. "It is probably time to get going anyway. And I want one last shower before we hit the road."

Si Dong groaned but let his arms drop to the side. "Fine. But I want to point out that I am doing this under duress."

There was another screech outside of the room, causing Si Dong to roll his eyes. "But maybe hitting her would make it worthwhile."

Shaking my head, I headed for the bathroom, letting the guys deal with the harpy outside.

----

"What do you want?" asked Bin An Sha as he stumbled out of his room. "And how did you even get in here?"

"That doesn’t matter! What are you thinking? You can’t leave the Sanctuary!" yelled Wu Bai Hee as she stomped her foot. She only found out a few minutes ago that Bin An Sha was technically part of Phoenix Rising and was planning on leaving on the mission.

"I can assure you, I am completely capable of leaving the Sanctuary," he sneered as he ran his hand through his hair. That reminded him, he needed to take almost everything with him. He didn’t trust anyone not to take his supplies while he wasn’t there.

And Wu Bai Hee just proved that his place wasn’t as secure as he originally thought it was. "Fan Teng Fei, if I could see you after?"

"Of course," nodded the other man. He seemed completely unruffled by their unexpected visitor, perched in his favorite spot in front of the window.

"You are not allowed to leave," repeated Wu Bai Hee. This time, when she spoke, she was much more in control. "I am pregnant."

"Oh, trust me, I am well aware. However, you are not due within the next few days. If everything goes well, we’ll be back at least a month or two before you go into labor. Now, if you could just turn around and leave, we have stuff to do."

"Fine," replied Wu Bai Hee, straightening her back and raising her head. "I am not going to argue with you right now. We’ll see if you can make it past the gates."

Without waiting for a response, she spun around and left the condo, slamming the door behind her.

"Awe, man, and here was me hoping I could hit her," chuckled Si Dong as he appeared in the entrance of the hallway.

"If you’re here, I can only assume that Firefly is awake," smiled Bin An Sha. The harpy was gone, and his Firefly was awake. How could he possibly be upset? Besides, he had been wanting to leave the Sanctuary for the past while, and this was the perfect opportunity. No one can prevent him from leaving with his team. Not even the Princess.

"Do you really think I would be out here with all of you if Cuddles was still in bed? Fuck that. She is in the shower right now," answered Si Dong as he made his way into the kitchen. "Is there anything light for her to eat? I am a bit worried that she might not have the ability to keep up with us if she doesn’t get something to eat."

Fan Teng Fei nodded his head, and with a wave of his hand, a basket of muffins appeared on the countertop.

"Are these carrot muffins?" asked Si Dong, looking at them strangely. "They don’t all look like it. You know she doesn’t like chocolate chip anything."

"It’s carrot and blueberry muffins. And she was the one to make them, so I am going to assume she is okay with eating them," grumbled Fan Teng Fei. "I know what she likes and doesn’t like."

"What do I like?" asked Wang Tian Mu as she came into the room.

"You’re out already? I thought you would be in there longer," interjected Si Dong as he came around the island carrying the basket of muffins.

"I would have, but I thought that others might want the shower too," she shrugged like it wasn’t that big of a deal.

But it meant everything to the guys that she was taking them into consideration.

"We’re good," yawned Bai Long Qiang. "We’re going to stink on the road; we might as well enjoy a few more minutes of sleep while we can get it."

"Ha! Speak for yourself," grumbled Cheng Bo Jing. "I’m going to jump into the shower next."

"Not if I get there first," snickered Si Dong as he took off toward the master bedroom, Cheng Bo Jing hard on his heels.
