Temperature Difference Colloidal Material!

To Richard, the large-scale extraction method of Temperature Difference Colloidal Material was considered the most precious knowledge among the treasures of Black Spirit King’s Island—without equal.

This knowledge, compared to extracting components from the Sewing Monster or improving Divine Blood, wouldn’t directly increase combat abilities, but it was more important.

Once Richard had mastered this knowledge, he could produce a large amount of Temperature Difference Colloidal Material and then process it to create numerous temperature difference generators. By solving one minor issue, he could truly usher Eden into the age of electricity.

The minor issue that needed solving was ensuring the temperature difference generators functioned and generated electricity continuously, namely—they required a qualified heat source to start up.

How could this qualified heat source be obtained?

By using Fire Magic to create Flames or heating an iron ingot perhaps?

If it were so, given the strong heat absorption capacity and high energy conversion efficiency of the temperature difference generators, they would indeed generate a significant amount of electrical power.

But this method and the previously proposed Magic Rune Generator did not fundamentally differ; it still depended on human effort to continuously capture Free Energy Elements for power.

Human resources were finite; by doing so, it might be better than the Magic Rune Generator, but the energy input would ultimately still be restricted, making any forced upgrade merely a pseudo-upgrade.

To thoroughly solve this problem, a heat source that could consistently provide heat over years, decades, centuries, or even millennia was necessary.

For instance, an active volcano or perhaps... the Earth’s core.

Such a heat source’s existence was like a sheep ripe for shearing, indiscriminately releasing heat into the surroundings like a mini Sun—failing to sheer it was simply wasteful.

Finding such a sheep, however, was no easy task, at least there were no active volcanoes or Earth’s core in Eden, but there was something else.

Inside Eden.

At the edge of Eden’s space, at the soil’s end, stood what appeared to be infinitely tall walls. Their material was indiscernible, their surfaces smooth and seamless, looking utterly united like a giant Crystal. Richard named it—the Crystal Wall.

The Crystal Wall was extremely peculiar:

The first characteristic, indestructible. Richard had tried many methods but could not damage it at all.

The second characteristic, impenetrable. Richard had attempted to leave his body in meditation within Eden and found that his Consciousness, which could easily pass through seawater, walls, soil, and rocks, could not penetrate the Crystal Wall as if it met some repressive matter. Therefore, it was completely impossible to know what was beyond the Crystal Wall or deeply study the material it was made of, at most, some simple tests could be conducted.

In these tests, Richard discovered the third characteristic of the Crystal Wall, which could be completely utilized for temperature difference power generation.

That is...

"Hu—"

Taking a deep breath, standing in front of the Crystal Wall, Richard reached out and touched it. His palm felt its smoothness at first, followed by a warm sensation, and if the contact lasted longer, it turned into a burning sensation—clearly, the temperature of the Crystal Wall was far higher than the human body’s surface temperature.

In a sense, the four Crystal Walls located in the four directions of Eden were equivalent to four immense heat sources. Although their temperature wasn’t excessively high and their heat transfer rate was slow, hardly affecting the air much, this posed no problem and could definitely be utilized.

"Just like grabbing a sheep that offers wool for free, one wouldn’t complain about the ugliness of the sheep or the difficulty of shearing it—as long as the wool can be sheared for free, any flaw is acceptable.

Moreover, this sheep was enormously huge. According to tests, continuously drawing heat from the Crystal Wall didn’t result in significant temperature changes, so in a sense, one could endlessly shear the wool.

Given the special nature of the Crystal Wall and the inability to study it deeply, Richard had decided not to try to figure out where its heat came from for the time being, opting instead to shear the wool to his heart’s content first.

No sooner said than done, standing in front of the Crystal Wall, Richard flipped his hand and drew out square-shaped black boxes one by one from the Space Iron Ring. These were the first rudimentary version of temperature difference generators he had created. Limited by the materials on hand, they were crudely made but still functional—they absorbed the heat from the Crystal Wall and transformed it into electrical energy.

"Snap, snap, snap, snap..."

Richard kept taking out more square-shaped generators, placing them close to the ground, right against the Crystal Wall, stacking them up like building bricks, and then securing them in place.

Half a day later, one could see a low earthen wall appearing in the middle of the Crystal Wall. Compared to the towering Crystal Wall, the earthen wall was almost inconspicuous. But for Richard, it was already sufficient to meet some of his electrical needs.

Afterward, Richard constructed the same type of earthen walls on all four surfaces of the Crystal Wall—splitting them up as a cautious measure. Since the heating mechanism of the Crystal Wall was unclear, it was better to distribute them evenly to avoid any potential negative effects.

After completing these, Richard began to bury wires underground, transmitting the electricity generated by the four low generator walls to the center of Eden, where he set up a battery room, utilizing a vast number of lead-acid batteries to store the electrical energy. Then, using wires, he connected the stored electrical energy to various places that needed power, achieving a real upgrade of the energy system and fully entering the era of electricity.

The first outcome of entering the electrical era was that various machines such as electric oscillators, electric centrifuges, and electric dryers were all created. Numerous experimental steps, which previously required the oversized use of magic for assistance, could now be conducted more efficiently and more effortlessly through scientific means.

Pandora was also liberated from her daily task of operating a hand-cranked generator and was able to delve into the more relaxing and enjoyable study of mathematics—of course, Pandora herself didn’t quite agree with this notion, feeling that studying mathematics was neither easy nor fun. Humph, if not for wanting to be a useful person—no, a useful dragon—she wouldn’t want to study mathematics at all!

Richard didn’t have much time to pay attention to Pandora’s complaints. After upgrading the energy system, he was immersed in improving the lighting system—this had been the initial impetus for upgrading the energy system.

Later, Richard quickly installed numerous light bulbs in each laboratory and experimental site, completely doing away with oil lamps and candles as light sources, making the entire laboratory look much less outdated and beginning to resemble a modern laboratory in some respects.

This corner was transformed by Richard into a control console for the electrical system.

Standing there, Richard looked out through the windows of the main laboratory. Beyond the central experimental area of Eden, most of the surrounding area was enveloped in darkness, like an isolated island in perpetual darkness.

"Now simulate sunrise time," Richard suddenly said.

As he spoke, he pressed a switch on the control console in front of him, connecting the circuit.

God said, ’Let there be light,’ and there was light.

Richard said, ’Light!’

The next moment, the Crystal Wall outside the main laboratory, which had been in darkness, suddenly lit up, emitting a bright light.

Upon close inspection, one could see that the light was concentrated in a circular area at the center of the Crystal Wall, resembling a rising sun—both fiery red and brilliantly golden.

This happened because Richard had installed numerous light bulbs at a higher position on the Crystal Wall, in a specific sequence. The types of bulbs, besides ordinary incandescent bulbs, included high-pressure sodium lamps and low-pressure sodium lamps amongst others. The collective light from these bulbs thus created a sun-like effect.

This was just a beginning."
