Chapter 434: Chapter 433: The Secret of the Sewing Monster

"Captain!" First Officer Williams looked at Captain Morgan, his eyes about to pop out of their sockets. He grabbed an axe meant for cutting ropes and cursed loudly, furiously charging toward the Sewing Monster. "Monster, die!"

But then, without any surprise, with a loud "bang," First Officer Williams was slapped back by the Sewing Monster, "thud" hitting the deck and immediately falling unconscious.

The deck was in chaos. Although the second and third officers were there, they obviously didn’t have Williams’ courage. Exchanging glances, they both saw the panic etched on each other’s faces.

By that time, five Sewing Monsters had reached the side of the Ghost Ship and, the very next moment, stepped directly onto the deck of the Naru Glory Fisherman, causing those on board to hastily retreat.

The second and third officers didn’t react in time, instantly becoming surrounded by the five Sewing Monsters. They went white with fear, their bodies going limp, and with a clatter, their weapons fell to the ground. The two quickly raised their hands, desperately yelling, "I surrender! Don’t kill me, I surrender!"

The Sewing Monsters seemed to understand. They sniffed at them with their noses but, quite surprisingly, didn’t attack. Instead, they simply picked up the two officers and, somewhat roughly, flung them onto the deck of the Ghost Ship.

Then one of the Sewing Monsters issued a menacing call. With a loud "bang," it violently struck the deck with a Wolf Fang Club, cracking it extensively.

Seeing this, the crew was at first stunned, then, without saying much, they quickly dropped their weapons, "clash and clatter," and raised their hands to surrender. They were herded onto the deck of the Ghost Ship like sheep—there was no desperate resistance, no epic battle. It all happened so naturally, and in the blink of an eye, the deck of the Naru Glory Fisherman was deserted.

No one could be blamed, after all. To ordinary people, the Sewing Monsters were just too overwhelming, leaving them with little courage to resist. For most, they simply wanted to live. If possible, they would do anything for that.

After herding everyone onto the deck of the Ghost Ship, the Sewing Monsters also carried the unconscious First Officer Williams and the severely injured Captain Morgan on board. Then they even found the mutinous sailor, Jack, who was tied up and locked in the cabin, and threw him over as well.

It seemed that the Sewing Monsters were not willing to spare anyone, dead or alive.

After finishing all this, the five Sewing Monsters thoroughly searched the Naru Glory Fisherman, ensuring no creatures were left behind. Four of them returned, leaving one behind to thoroughly destroy the ship, preparing for its sinking.

"Bang bang bang!"

The Sewing Monster was frighteningly strong. Under the effects of the Wolf Fang Club, it didn’t take long for the Naru Glory Fisherman to be riddled with holes and on the verge of collapse.

"Crack crack crack... bang!"

Finally, with a loud noise, the Naru Glory Fisherman broke apart and began sinking into the sea.

The ship-destroying Sewing Monster, dropping the heavy Wolf Fang Club, leapt into the water, swimming toward the Ghost Ship.

"Swish swash swish swash..."

The Sewing Monster was hideous but swift in the water, and it wasn’t long before it reached the Ghost Ship, prepared to climb aboard using the ropes hanging down from the deck. Just then, suddenly a hand grabbed its ankle.

"Hm?"

The Sewing Monster struggled to turn its head, looking puzzled; it thought it had been caught in seaweed. In the next instant, an irresistible great force at its ankle dragged it down into the water.

"Blub blub blub!"

The Sewing Monster fought violently, but to no avail; it was dragged underwater.

"Glub glub glub, glub glub glub..."

Bubbles continuously escaped from its mouth and nose; the Sewing Monster began to drown, thrashing about wildly.

However, no matter how it struggled, the hand at its ankle didn’t let go, until after several minutes, the Sewing Monster became motionless—it had drowned.

"Splash!"

At that moment, a shark smelled the blood coming from the Sewing Monster and rushed over. Seeing the huge, drifting Sewing Monster and the shadow beside it, its eyes turned green with anticipation, eager to thank the Sea God for this generous feast.

After expressing his gratitude, the shark did not hesitate, and with a powerful swish of its body, it charged at the Sewing Monster, intent on delivering a fierce bite.

But in the next moment...

"Bang!"

The shark felt its head slam into a hard rock, almost knocking it unconscious. Unable to help itself, it looked up and discovered that, at some point, a large clump of ice had formed in the sea, and it had just collided with this ice. Quickly swimming around the ice, the shark desperately searched for the food it had just spotted, but... where could it be? Not even a shadow remained!

"Swish, splash..."

The shark swam in circles, completely baffled by what had happened, and after a long while, it left feeling both sulky and perplexed.

...

Meanwhile, on the deck of the Ghost Ship, four Sewing Monsters with intellects on par with the shark’s, were also perplexed as they stared out into the vast sea, wondering why their companion hadn’t returned.

Waiting, waiting...

Soon, half an hour passed, and the four Sewing Monsters, having lost patience, turned around and, with a menacing growl, herded the captives on deck into the cabin.

In a moment, the Ghost Ship set sail, heading off into the distance.

As for the missing Sewing Monster... well, let’s hope it’s lucky enough to find its own way back...

...

In reality, the missing Sewing Monster was not fortunate at all and certainly couldn’t return on its own—its corpse was now lying on a dissection table.

Inside Eden.

The Biological Function Sector, Dissection Laboratory.

Richard appeared here and heard a faint voice coming from outside, "Three sevens are twenty-one, four sevens are twenty-eight," It was Pandora attempting to tackle a multiplication rhyme.

He shook his head without paying attention to her. Richard prepared his dissection tools and swiftly approached the dissection table where the Sewing Monster’s body was placed, ready to begin his work.

"Splat!"

The sharp blade quickly sliced through the Sewing Monster’s hide, and Richard saw a layer of yellowish-brown fat beneath, followed by closely knit muscle.

He cut through the muscle with some effort, revealing a stream of pale blue liquid that seemed like blood, yet also seemed like a special bodily fluid. This liquid was secreted continuously from a kind of semi-translucent gelatinous substance.

After separating the gelatinous substance, Richard then saw the internal organs of the Sewing Monster and an exceptionally large heart.

"Squish, squish..."

Richard, with a serious expression, continued to wield various dissection instruments, analyzing the Sewing Monster’s physiological structure.

After a long time, once dissection was completed, Richard’s eyes narrowed slightly, as if deep in thought.

When the Sewing Monsters had first appeared, he had not intervened but had hidden away instead. On one hand, he wanted to learn more about the true nature of the Ghost Ship, and on the other hand, he preferred to avoid getting involved in this matter—avoiding trouble when possible was always better.

But after killing and dissecting a Sewing Monster, his thoughts had changed. He found that some things about the Sewing Monster were more complex than he had imagined. Not to mention anything else, just the creation of the Sewing Monsters, the act of creating life itself, was astoundingly profound. If he could unravel the core knowledge about the Sewing Monsters, it would be extremely helpful to his current research.

So, should he follow the Ghost Ship to gain a deeper understanding of its destination and uncover what exactly the Sewing Monsters, the Ghost Ship, and the Divination Woman were up to?

Richard’s eyes narrowed to a slit.
