Chapter 433: Chapter 432 Sewing Monster!

"Bartes, take your men and handle the situation in the lower deck!"

"Williams, distribute the weapons to everyone!"

Captain Morgan roared his orders at the second officer and the first officer, both of whom dared not express any dissatisfaction and quickly set out to do as commanded.

Bartes rushed into the cabin, while Williams moved out the few remaining weapon chests that had not been thrown overboard—this was their last resort for resistance.

"Clack, clack, clack..."

Weapons were handed out to each sailor, and ordinary passengers were not overlooked. However, the sailors received sailor’s knives and hand crossbows, and the ordinary passengers got small knives and harpoons. The ordinary passengers had no complaints, fully aware of their limits, knowing they wouldn’t be assigned to the frontline. Thus, the better equipped the sailors were, the more advantageous it was for them.

Once the weapons had been distributed, the "Naru Glory Fisherman" shuddered violently and slowly righted itself, regaining balance—the situation in the lower deck cabin had been taken care of.

At that moment, the ghost ship pursuing them had closed to within a kilometer.

Then it was—

Nine hundred meters, seven hundred meters, five hundred meters...

Three hundred meters, two hundred meters, one hundred meters!

The ghost ship was right on top of them!

"Prepare for boarding combat! Sailors, follow me and defend the deck!" Captain Morgan yelled with his sword in hand, standing alongside numerous sailors on the side where the ghost ship was approaching, staring intensely at the deserted deck of the ghost ship, ready to defend against an unknown attack. The rest of the passengers huddled behind, gripping their weapons, nervously swallowing.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Five seconds, ten seconds, fifteen seconds...

Half a minute had passed by in a flash, and the stopped ghost ship was pressed tightly against the "Naru Glory Fisherman," but there was still no sign of activity.

"What’s going on?" someone wondered.

Captain Morgan also looked perplexed. Firstly, he loosened his grip and then tightened it on his longsword again, turning his head to instruct a few sailors, "Larr, Hai Zhe, Kerry, you three are quite agile. Jump over to the other ship and see what’s going on. Be careful, and come back immediately if anything seems off."

"Yes, Captain." The three experienced sailors, whose expressions betrayed a hint of fear, said nothing more, took a deep breath, and gently leaped onto the deck of the ghost ship. Two of them held sailor’s knives, and one held a hand crossbow, venturing into the cabin of the ghost ship, while everyone on the "Naru Glory Fisherman" watched with bated breath.

The next moment, not long after the three sailors had entered the cabin, suddenly horrific and brief screams erupted.

"Ah!"

"Don’t!"

"Help!"

In just a few seconds, the voices disappeared without a trace.

The people on the "Naru Glory Fisherman" turned pale, and their last bit of hope vanished, knowing that something immensely dangerous and sinister lurked on the ghost ship.

What exactly was it?

A faint scent of blood wafted from the cabin of the ghost ship, followed the next moment by a snarl, like that of a wild beast.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Heavy footsteps resonated as five figures emerged from the cabins of the Ghost Ship. The crew aboard the Naru Glory Fisherman glanced once and several screamed themselves into unconsciousness, while the sailors showed extreme terror, instinctively stepping back.

"What is that?!"

"It’s a monster!"

"Mon---monster!"

The sailors’ hands trembled as they gripped their weapons.

The figures that walked out looked nearly human, but they stood over two meters tall and weighed at least 300 kilograms each, like extremely burly fat men.

If it were just a fat man, it wouldn’t be so terrifying, but upon closer inspection, one could see that the fat man’s skin was a nauseating grayish-white covered with stitches made from threading needles—crafted from the patchwork of dead men’s hides.

Beneath the dead skin, the bulging did not seem like normal flesh but rather like the limbs of the dead.

The "fat man" reeked of blood and rotting corpses, had a disproportionately large head, and bared uneven teeth, which held bits of torn flesh and curly hairs— one could only imagine what the three unfortunate sailors who had just entered the cabins had suffered.

Sewing Monsters! What came out of those cabins were five incredibly evil creatures from legend, crafted through black magic by the most malevolent of wizards... Sewing Monsters!

"Dong! Dong! Dong!"

The five Sewing Monsters each dragged a Wolf Fang Club, taller than a man, approaching the Naru Glory Fisherman.

The breaths of everyone on the Naru Glory Fisherman nearly stopped. If these had been pirates playing tricks, no matter how brutal, they would have fought desperately. But facing these heinous, non-human creatures—the Sewing Monsters—they found themselves without the courage.

Some already distraumed, couldn’t help crying out, "We should have listened to Barth, Barth told us to return to the port, to stay in Hai Ya. If we had listened, we wouldn’t be in this situation. Damn it, not only will everyone die, but our souls will surely be consumed by these monsters too. Ah, I don’t want this, I really don’t!"

"Slap!"

A harsh slap landed on the speaking sailor’s face, and Captain Morgan sternly reprimanded, "Stop the madness! Think about it, unless we never go out to sea again, we would encounter these creatures eventually. Actually, if we hadn’t set sail early, they would have caught up to us a few days ago!"

The slapped sailor, holding his swollen face, bowed his head in silence; Captain Morgan turned back to face the Sewing Monsters, clenching his fists.

"I know you’re all scared!" Captain Morgan spoke, his voice serious and firm, "I’m scared too, but fear is useless. Now, either we kill these monsters or we all die together! You’re afraid to act, right? Well, let me show you how!"

With that, Captain Morgan leapt forward, landing onto the deck of the Ghost Ship, and thrust his longsword precisely into the belly of a Sewing Monster.

"Pu-chi!"

The longsword stabbed in, and the Sewing Monster let out a painful cry.

Captain Morgan turned back, shouting at all the sailors, "See, even though they are monsters, they can be hurt, just like..."

"Captain, be careful!" First Officer Williams shouted a warning.

Captain Morgan sensed something, hearing a wicked wind rushing towards him; he tried to dodge, but the attack was too swift. Before he could move, he was harshly struck.

With a heavy ’thump’, everyone on the Naru Glory Fisherman saw Captain Morgan flung by a slap from a Sewing Monster, his body drawing an arc in mid-air, and falling back onto the Naru Glory Fisherman, then crashing harshly into the wooden wall of Captain’s Room.

"Crack!" The sound echoed as the wooden wall of Captain’s Room shattered, with Captain Morgan tumbling in and lying motionlessly inside, his life unknown.
