Exploring Technology in a Wizard World -
Chapter 424 - 423 Research Project
Chapter 424: Chapter 423 Research Project
In Eden.
Pandora continued her memorization of the Five-character table and began challenging the Six-character table upon entering here, while Richard conducted research.
For Richard, there was still much to research:
Firstly, a deep exploration into Magic Runes was his long-term research task and would not be interrupted.
He had killed Suo Men and Vasily, two members of Mysterious Organization, in the battle just before leaving White Stone City and obtained two more Space Iron Rings. Now, he had four Space Iron Rings in total, which far exceeded regular needs.
Therefore, he considered using these new Space Iron Rings as test subjects, implementing more modifications and tests on their Magic Runes to leverage greater utility. However, due to the complexity of the runes on them, truly obtaining results would require considerable time.
Secondly, there was the improvement and continued cultivation of Pneumonia Fungus.
This had played an unexpectedly significant role in dealing with the Mysterious Organization, so he decided to continue his research for potential urgent needs.
However, using Pneumonia Fungus came with many limitations. If it had not been for being located in an underground base with Metallic Balls that could self-destruct to destroy the fungus, he really would not have decided so decisively. After all, in the current world, Pneumonia Fungus was essentially a Biological Weapon. Even wizards couldn’t resist it, and if it wasn’t controlled properly and spread, it could potentially cause the deaths of thousands.
Perhaps the death of unrelated individuals wouldn’t burden him much mentally. But such a situation would surely catch the attention of higher-level wizards and even be prioritized by the Mysterious Organization.
Such consequences were not what he desired. In his view, as a trump card, Biological Weapons should be used selectively, targeted, within a controlled range, and swiftly destroyed after use to avoid exposing his ace.
Of course, if the situation became truly dire, he wouldn’t mind releasing tons of Pneumonia Fungus Spore Powder into the air to gain a combat advantage, even if it meant dragging everyone nearby down with him. After all... he never thought of himself as a good person.
Thirdly, there was the research on various antibiotics and antibiotic-secreting bacteria.
This was a sister project to the Pneumonia Fungus research, acting as a limitation on the fungus. Indeed, once infected by it, or when needing to quickly cleanse an environment contaminated with Pneumonia Fungus, specialized antibiotics secreted by the bacteria were necessary.
Fourthly, improvements and research into Divine Blood.
The currently formulated Divine Blood (Basic) significantly enhanced his physical capabilities, but its adverse effects were too strong. Consequently, in the prior battle before leaving White Stone City, he had used Wind Lord to twist Suo Men’s head off rather than taking Divine Blood.
He now planned to systematically increase the enhancements provided by Divine Blood and reduce its side effects. Currently, Divine Blood was only Basic, equivalent to "Earl Level Bloodline Power." His aim was to upgrade it to Divine Blood (Intermediate) or even Divine Blood (Advanced), comparable to "Marquis Level Bloodline Power," "Duke Level Bloodline Power," or even higher.
From what he knew before, Bloodline Power was a classification based on Bloodline Seed levels, typically divided into six levels from Lord to Duke, with the weakest being "Lord Level Bloodline Power," just slightly better than a normal human, while the strongest, "Duke Level Bloodline Power," could challenge an Official Wizard.
Was there anything above "Duke Level" Bloodline Power?
For instance... Prince Level?
Prince Level comprising "Prince Level Bloodline Power," "King Level Bloodline Power"?
Maybe it didn’t exist, or perhaps it did but was unknown to most.
After all, Bloodline Seeds relied on bloodline transmission. In the current world dominated by Wizard Power, their survival was extremely challenging, and their numbers couldn’t even begin to compare with wizards, almost making it impossible for them to produce a super-entity.
Simply put, maybe Bloodline Seed’s physical system was once powerful, even ruling the world at one point, but now it was in decline, giving way to the Magic Power of wizards.
But this power continued to exist in the current Wizard World, indirectly proving its tenacious vitality, possessing many desirable attributes. At the very least, enhancing physical qualities surpassed many Wizard Spells.
Digging deeper into this weakened power system for utilization might yield surprising results.
Richard held a positive attitude towards this idea.
Fifth, was the research on Magic Defense Shields.
To ensure his safer survival, continuous strengthening of Defense Shields was crucial. His current approach was to model it after the advanced tank armor on modern Earth.
On one hand, tank armor was considered the strongest mobile armor on modern Earth; on the other hand, he really felt that wizard combat—at least at the First-level Wizard stage—was very similar to tanks on modern Earth. Although capable of flying, most First-level Wizards fought on the ground for safety reasons. Compared to tanks, the difference was that tanks used shells for attack and armor for defense, relying on mobility for evasion, whereas First-level Wizards used Spells for all these.
In a way, a wizard was essentially a tank version equipped with spells.
A Low-level First-level Wizard was like the weakest light tank, with most of its Spell Powers similar to that of a machine gun or small-caliber cannon, equivalent to an 80mm caliber.
A Mid-level First-level Wizard was like a stronger medium tank, with qualified Spell Power, around 100mm caliber.
A High-level First-level Wizard was like a powerful heavy tank, with Spell Power devastating to ordinary people, at least 120mm caliber!
As for the Peak First-level Wizard, or even the monsters who had stagnated at the First-level Wizard for decades, that was akin to forcibly fitting a heavy cannon onto a movable tank chassis, with Spell Power instantaneously lethal to ordinary individuals, and essentially beyond measure.
After all, with heavy artillery, calibers could reach the sky—starting at 150mm, 300mm passable, 400mm just right, 500mm not too much. If daring enough, creating an 800mm Gustav Heavy Cannon was possible, with each shell weighing seven tons, containing 400 pounds of Explosives, easily shattering an 850mm concrete wall. Talk about fearsome!
Considering this, Richard truly believed that the pursuit of defense was endless.
