Above the throne on Dragon Island, the Dragon Queen slowly opened her eyes and surveyed her surroundings.

Members of the dragon race had been waiting here long ago, all appearing in their immense forms, prostrating themselves in the vast space. Among them were Fenice, Taylor, Green Emperor, and many others with whom Lilith was familiar.

Thousands of dragons had gathered together, but they were uncharacteristically silent. It was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

All of them lifted their heads, quietly gazing at the Dragon Queen.

The queen lowered her gaze, her eyes sweeping over these familiar faces. Memories flooded her mind—the past nine million years spent with these companions through long, lonely times.

A rare look of attachment and reluctance flickered in her eyes. For the first time, she did not look like a majestic and noble queen but rather a sad girl who was about to lose something precious.

“Am I… really doing the right thing?” the Dragon Queen murmured doubtfully, but asking herself would not yield an answer so she posed the question to everyone else.

“All of you… Do you think your queen is doing the right thing?”

Akarin, the Dragon Queen’s right-hand man, replied respectfully, “We are your loyal subjects, Your Majesty. Naturally, we’ll follow your will.”

“Those are not the words your queen wishes to hear. What I desire is to hear your will.”

“But isn’t your will our will, Your Majesty?” A rare, genuine smile spread across Akarin’s face as he continued, “That’s the will of all of us.”

“No matter right or wrong?”

“Yes, no matter right or wrong,” Akarin affirmed, raising his hand.

The other dragons lifted their heads and declared in unison, “The will of our queen is our will! We are forever loyal to the queen!”

The queen looked at her silly subjects speechlessly. After a long silence, she let out a deep sigh. “I really am… still that laughably cowardly coward.” She had made her decision long ago, but at the last moment, hesitation and reluctance still seized her.

It was just like that time, nine million years ago.

“You are not a coward, my queen. You are the one and only… wisest queen! All the dragons are thankful to you,” Akarin stated, looking her in the eyes earnestly.

“Thankful… huh?”

Hearing that word, the queen’s vision unexpectedly blurred. Her grip on the armrests of her throne tightened, nearly crushing them. Yet, her tears had long since dried up. In the end, she could only bury that surge of emotion as sadness deep within her heart.

She glanced over the faces before her repeatedly, telling herself this would be the last time, yet she still found it difficult to look away.

“Your Majesty, it’s time,” Akarin gently reminded her.

The queen forcibly raised her head, looking away from the dragons.

“I have one final question…”

“What is it, Your Majesty?”

“Have you all… ever hated me?”

After a long pause, Akarin was the first to respond, “Yes… I have.”

Then, one after another, the other dragons replied to her question.

“Me too…”

“Me too…”

“We all did…”

The queen’s slender frame trembled slightly.

“But…” Akarin silenced the growing chorus of the other dragons with a decisive phrase. “But, it was not your actions from nine million years ago that made us hate you, Your Majesty. It was your indecision in recent years.”

“Huh?” Looking down in surprise, the queen saw all the dragons grinning mischievously at her.

“Indecisiveness isn’t your style, my queen.”

“That’s right, queen! Stop hesitating when you’ve already made up your mind!”

“We’ve watched your struggles over the years. It broke our hearts. If it weren’t for the fear of getting skinned alive by you, we would’ve pushed you long ago.”

“Go now, Your Majesty,” Akarin urged, bowing his head. “As I have said, this is the story we’ve all been waiting for, so please, give it the perfect ending.”

“You all…” Overcome with emotion, the queen could no longer hold back her tears. Taking a deep breath, she tried her best to smile and said, “Farewell, everyone.”

“Farewell, our queen.”

The Dragon Queen opened her eyes once more and gazed at the broken ceiling of the grand hall.

In the sky above, a vibrant planet revolved around a large, blazing sun, day and night.

The queen’s eyes betrayed a trace of longing. She subconsciously reached out, only to remember that her right hand, now a white bone, starkly contrasted with the azure blue planet.

She sighed softly again and rose from her throne, lifting her gaze to a more distant place. At that moment, her icy eyes and stern expression reclaimed her demeanor as she reverted to the high and mighty Dragon Queen.

With a swift turn, she was already beyond the endless land of death.

The Thoughtless Deity Lord was already waiting there.

“What do you intend to do, Dragon Queen?” the Thoughtless Deity Lord snapped. In truth, facing the Dragon Queen directly made her nervous.

She was unsure of how much strength remained in this once strongest being of the Great World and the only entity who had taken on the Dragon Eater alone nine million years ago.

Could she truly handle the Dragon Queen if provoked to a frenzy?

Thoughtless eyed the queen’s exposed skeleton hand and secretly sighed in relief. The fact that she had not fully recovered from her injuries sustained in the battle with the Dragon Eater nine million years ago meant she wasn’t in her prime right now.

Fortunately, they had numbers on their side.

However, the Dragon Queen paid no attention to the Thoughtless Deity Lord. Her cold gaze swept the surroundings before she waved her sleeve. The floating dead star remains in the deadlands moved at her command, forming arcane patterns under the queen’s control.

Thoughtless’ eyelids twitched. It was clear to anyone that the Dragon Queen was using the deadlands as a base to set up some kind of formidable array.

Is she ignoring me when I’m right in front of her?

Thoughtless fumed, her fear of the queen’s terrifying reputation momentarily forgotten as she charged forward.

“Stop it, or else you’ll be sorry!”

“Oh?” It seemed the Dragon Queen had finally noticed her presence. “I am merely decorating my home. Who are you to dictate my actions?” she remarked indifferently.

“Since when did this place become your home?” Thoughtless retorted, visibly annoyed.

“Is it not my home?” The Dragon Queen’s graceful eyebrows knitted together, her icy, azure eyes locking onto the Thoughtless Deity Lord.

Thoughtless had become a deity lord for over a million and three hundred thousand years. Despite being one of the top entities in the Great World, the queen’s gaze still managed to send a chill down her spine.

She hadn’t felt this way in millions of years.
